  • This is my new Bone Meal Farm, based on moss, that produces 5,300 bone meal profit per hour. It's currently the second fastest moss-based bone meal farm in Minecraft using just one source moss block - and the least laggy for the amount of bone meal you get. I’m able to run at least 6 in my local world with no lag, producing over 30k bone meal per hour! (but that is on a gaming PC)
    **In current versions the moss can get stuck on the first hopper after it's washed off the platform. Simple fix seems to be to replace that hopper with ice**
    Remember to stop the farm before leaving the area or logging out. The stone generators in the moss farm can produce cobblestone on reload if you don't do this. This is necessary to achieve the rates of this farm. If you forget and do get cobblestone, it's easy to manually clear out any cobblestone when you return to it.
    Farm tested on Win10, Realms and BDS, and works on all Bedrock versions.
    this farm has been featured by ‪@Zap113‬ on Truly Bedrock. Check out his video here:: • Truly Bedrock Season 4...
    if you need a slightly later game, but even faster farm (11.1k/h) check out my newer video: • (Broken in 1.20.40+) F...
    Sorry that the video is so long - I wanted to do this build in survival because there are some areas of the farm that can be tricky to place if built in the wrong order.

      Thanks to silentwhisperer( I think), in 1.20.40 this may start generating cobblestone until it no longer works. The fix I have discovered seems to be to change the first repeater after the lever to the fastest setting. @Eggfur

      @i-Zetek 11 місяців тому

      I can also confirm that with the current clock of 2 ticks on the first repeater and 3 ticks on the second that the farm will mostly just produce cobble. I will try your setting. I fixed it by slowing things down a bit and put both repeaters on 4 ticks.

    Finally got around to building this farm. Still works great. I figured out that instead of replacing the first hopper with ice you can just put a horizontal end rod over the hopper (put on the glass block next to the one with a button. Items no longer get stuck and end rods still allow for the water flow. I also needed moss blocks along with bone meal so I just added in a single item sorter. Works so well. Thank you for the great tutorial.

    I have to say it took a bit of time to build but this produces loads if bonemeal. I ended up taking 6 composters out and replaced with hoppers then sent that line of hoppers to an auto sorting system to get some moss blocks carpets and trees from it also. Great job on the tutorial!!

    Now what this needs is a switch to shunt the moss off into storage instead of bonemeal. so you can farm the moss and the bonemeal both.

  • @B463L

    The bonemeal king is baaaaaaaack
    Three quick questions!
    1) Have you thought about a quadruple crimson nylium farm? I noticed that the c. nylium fungus growth happens in a 5x5 square so, accounting for the fact that the platform moves in two directions by one block, you'd need an 11x11 platform to get full yields in a quadrupled farm. As you know, this is within the piston push limit and might not make it hard to chunk align.
    2) have you thought about pushing nylium fungus onto water rings to distribute it to the hopper lines that feed it to the composters? Would this reduce or increase lag?
    3) if a nylium-based farm had a more frequent water flush, would that cut back on lag?

    • @Eggfur
      @Eggfur  2 роки тому +1

      For nylium:
      1) It's actually 7x7 where it grows, though more frequently in the centre than the edges. You'd get some loss of yield if you reduced to 5x5 to get 4 dispensers.
      2) not sure what you mean by water rings, but see below.
      3) yes, more frequent flushing would reduce lag at the expense of some bone meal. You can just reduce the items in the hopper clock, however...
      c0g010 has come up with a new platform design that doesn't need flushing and doesn't have a big build up of items. It's really clever: ua-cam.com/video/S280dbGdZP4/v-deo.html.
      It has similar overrall lag to the moss farm for the same outputs, but more consistent. On the other hand, it's worse for FPS

      @@Eggfur
      1) interesting, I'm pretty sure the wiki lies. Was I brainlessly posting Java info just then?
      2) ah, didn't know that wasn't a proper technical term. It's a ring of packed ice with a circular flow of water on top, and hoppers on the outside edges. It can distribute items to a large number of hopper lines without suffering from a bottleneck. If you build them big enough they can process hundreds of thousands of items; I've used it in conjunction with a nether portal to operate a 5-piglin barter farm.
      3) ooh! I'll check that out.
      As gorgeous as your moss-based farm is, I'm obsessed with redstone that never breaks, so I want to see how far nylium can go. The better if farms are turned on by comparators so I never even have to touch them.

      This one is about 36% faster than silentwisperer's. I'm not sure about lag, but the minecarts in silentwisperer's will create a lot of lag. He also has 28 stone generator compared to my 20, but my clock runs faster, so it may end up being similar from a lag perspective, just his is slower overall. Because silent uses slower stone generators it might be more reload proof - that could be an advantage depending on how you want to use it. I've not tested though (or even watched all of his video)

    I'm planning to use the bone meal to make bamboo for an auto smelter. The azaleas can be used for fuel so I'll filter those out instead of composting them (they're worth about 20x more smelts that way).

    • @kkalafus
      @kkalafus 2 роки тому

      Okay, looks like sorting out the azaleas to use as fuel directly and composting everything else for bone meal to make bamboo is well worthwhile, with about 3.5x more smelts from one farm's output. I'll have to do more rate testing to get more precise measurements but the early results are very positive

    Would it be more efficient to put less items in the hopper clock or add a few composters? I notice some of the items despawns before getting into the composters.

    • @Eggfur
      @Eggfur  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Jay Lee. Thanks for the kind feedback! I'm wondering how you've measured if items are despawning? I confess I've not fully tested, but my assumption was that they got into the hoppers quickly enough - especially since a change to the size of an item stack resets the 5-minute despawn timer. That impacts them both as they clump up on the platform and as items are taken out of the stack by the hoppers.

    • @JurassickXJay
      @JurassickXJay 2 роки тому

      @@Eggfur Just from observation, so I could be wrong. I started a timer right after a flush, then I waited and watched the next batch of items go into the stream and circle around the hoppers.
      At the 5 minute mark, a bunch of stacks seemed to suddenly dissappear right as they passed over an ice block. I didnt seem like the next hopper picked them up because there was a variety of items floating, but the hopper was all moss blocks.
      I'm on realms btw.

    • @Eggfur
      @Eggfur  2 роки тому +1

      Hmm, interesting. I think the timer should extend over more than 5 minutes because of item clumping. I'll do some testing - but yes, more composters works solve it without impacting rates. Less time between flushes would reduce efficiency a bit

      Turn off the farm. Go to the hole in the middle of the pistons. Then you can either break any cobblestone directly from there (turn it back on to check it's all gone). This way, you'll also need to check all the hoppers above a composter and remove any cobble. Alternatively jump down, break any cobble you need. Pickit up. Then use a Moss block to pillar back up to get out.

Everything else working but that one feature. Water buckets are still in all dispensers with water inside them.

      So I’ve figured out that the water is dispensing but it’s only dispensing once every 5 minutes or so, how do I adjust the timing on how often the water is dispensing?

    • @Eggfur
      @Eggfur  2 роки тому

      One of the things that makes this farm so great is that we only flush the platform once every 4m16s. That means the farm can apply bonemeal again much quicker rather than waiting for the flush. That timing is controlled by the clock above the composters (where you placed 5 stacks of cheap items). You can make the flush more frequent by reducing the number of items, but it just slows the farm down.

      Eggfur thank you for explaining, I was worried about items despawning but that makes sense. In that case…great tutorial and thank you again for responding

    Thanks for the tutorial and especially for the world and structura downloads. I'm curious how often it makes cobblestone if you relog without turning it off--will use the world download for some tests

    • @Eggfur
      @Eggfur  2 роки тому

      It's fairly frequent, but easy to clear away. The problem would be that eventually it will stop being self sustaining and all the bone meal will get used up (unless you're good about clearing it). Better to turn it off I think.

    • @kkalafus
      @kkalafus 2 роки тому

      Thanks for the information. Can the cobblestone problem be helped by slowing down some of the timings? I want the farm to start automatically whenever one of the downstream farms needs bonemeal, so it needs to be relog safe. Right now I use a nether sprout farm but it makes lag (as you said)

    • @Eggfur
      @Eggfur  2 роки тому

      I didn't try because I wanted it fast. There are other designs out there for moss farms, but I've not seen one that's fully reload proof. Have you had a look at this: ua-cam.com/video/S280dbGdZP4/v-deo.html
      In my testing it was very lag efficient, but I didn't really test for reload proof

      Double check your timings. If the water is dispensed and one of the pistons comes down, it deleted the water. Then the next time it dispenses the empty bucket. That's why the farm turns off the top pistons when water is being dispensed
