When I use those type or curlers on my hair, I just use my fingers to run through them to make then more loose. Brushing definitely makes them more frizzy and fluffy- but that's pretty much how 40's hair was styled anyway!

Most people work for volume, personally I work for 45 minutes to get my mid length hair straight and flat for it to only last a couple hours before it curls at the bottom or waves. I've nearly died in a cloud of hair spray so many times. lolLove your videos keep up the amazing work.
