Marty LOVES to play! Hes ALWAYS grinning from ear to ear. And hes a GREAT guitar player too! And no, he wasn't with the Byrds, but he did have a TV show and had Roger McGuinn as a guest. Great videos of that show. Check them out.
As I understand it, Marty was playing bluegrass with Lester Flatt and the Nashville Grass when the Byrds hit it big. Marty was a young teen, lived with Lester’s family, met mando player Roland White, brother of Clarence White (who was playing with the Byrds then). . Not too long after this, Clarence White tragically passed away from being hit by a car or truck while packing up from a gig. A while after this Marty visited Clarence’s widow who was selling some of his gear. That’s how he bought Clarence’s prototype b-bender modified by Gram Parsons. Marty plays this guitar all the time and calls it “Clarence.” ALWAYS when he plays with Roger and Chris. Respect.❤
The magic of Roger McGuinn... I’m in heaven
my favorite song Roger & Chris ever did
This fusion is a landmark in American music.
Marty's expression says it all, he's the consummate professional musician. He is digging this to no end and who could blame him.
Marty on stage playing Clarence White's famous bender on a classic Byrds tune. Couldn't get any better.
What a wonderful concert. Crowd loves it and its message is lifting to the spirits in our pandemic time. Double leads straight to the core.
McGuinn still picks it perfectly..
Q maravilla q integrantes de byrds aún toquen esa canción emblemática de toda una época , bravo!!!!!! Roger Mcguinn
Bring this show to Australia PLEEEEASE! :-)
Roger, Chris, and the telecaster of the Byrd Chris invited in played by someone fit to wear the shoes of its original owner. Love it
Love this video ~~ TY!❤
A time for Peace, I swear it's not too late
Magic times back then.
The first song (besides the opening credit song "With A Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker) ever to be played on The Wonder Years.
Many don't know this, but the B Section of Mozart's 'Rondo A La Turka' can be played over the top of the solo in this turn. Try it, it works.
But why would you??
OMG! Fantastic! Guys, make a band, maybe call ‘ The B.............
Marty is having a great time. I dont think he was with the Byrds? But he sure loves the music.

Song lyrics was pulled from the holy bible
Yeah, much like Highway 61 Revisited is pulled from the Bible.
My buddy bought a 6 string Rickenbacker in a band we had after high school, 1973. It was crap.
But this here is a magic 12 String.... 😉
They are notoriously difficult to keep in tune......but just listen.
