The team brought in Nationals and DC United players to teach him how to slide. This was a dirty late hit regardless. He should've been suspended. In any recent NFL era. This was more than a decade after the tuck rule.
This is exactly why I look to see if a quarterback ever played baseball. If you can’t slide, you won’t last very long in the NFL. Russell Wilson injured his hand but he’s never had his body wrecked like this. Tom Brady is literally the slowest quarterback in the history of the NFL combine and was injured once. Referee favoritism or whatever people want to say aside, you can’t deny that he knew how to slide and get down to live another day.
How to ruin a rookie in one play. RG3 technically hasn't retired, though he's been with ESPN since 2021, he hasn't started more than one game in a season since 2016, and his production was never the same after this hit. He threw for 20 TDs and 5 INTs and rushed for 815 yards in 15 games in 2012. Since then? 41 games (27 starts), 23 TDs, 25 INTs, 994 rushing yards. Andrew Luck made the right choice in retiring early; maybe Griffin should have done the same.
crazy that #99 was running at RG3 from the secondary??? I think he was following the TE on coverage and ends up way down the field and then comes up to make the play. kinda seems like Ngata should've gotten a personal foul? Griffin was already down and he lands on him.
don’t get me wrong the shanahan hate was valid but damn.. bro refused to slide. this hit was honestly light compared to some of the ones he was taking.
@@awill5895 It's hard to see from this angle, but at other angles you can see his leg bend like crazy when Ngata hit it. ua-cam.com/video/qrHZ-yqBI4c/v-deo.html
Ngata made Kirk Cousins a lot of money this day
Started Kirk Cousins journey to a billionaire
the beginning of the end for RG3 ..
To this day I'll never understand why RG3 DIDNT slide

why isn't he going out of bounds!? he cuts back to the middle of the field with three ravens waiting for him. run out of bounds stop the clock.
Exactly why didn't he slide
Man never knew how to get down to avoid the contact. Trying to get every inch possible instead of sliding.
one of the greatest washington football players ever man. I wish this never happened. It HURTS... as personal as it gets coming from a fan.
Honestly Ngata hit him pretty late 😭
Only if RG3 knew how to slide, he’d be goated.
I think they had the nfl had a bounty on him…they knew he was special
It’s just football man.
Really the hit that ended him
If he actually rested and let his knee heal, he wouldn't have ruined his career.
@@FkYourFeelingss yeah bc that was griffins decision🤦♂️
Wrong. Factually incorrect as well. It was his decision to play more that was the beginning of the end. The playoff hit is what finally did him in.
@@MrMathExpert with out this hit he would of never been in the position for his knee to give out in that playoff game ,
What I said is exactly what happened.
Haloti basically Dragon screw leg whipped Him.
I mean when a prime Haloti Ngata smacks you, some things might change too. The replay was brutal

Watching this in 2024 reminds me of Carson Wentz.
RG3 was playing at a MVP level, was never the same after this.

Its Russell Wilson’s turn to retire now.
@@allengreene9954 Agreed.
@@hiimemily Yep. Hopefully I’m wrong and he has a strong comeback but still. This year was really sad 😢
