The movement was aimed at reforming the quota system in government jobs, which allocated 56% of positions to various groups, including freedom fighters’ descendants, women, and ethnic minorities. Protesters argued that the system was unfair and demanded a reduction of quotas to 10%, with the rest based on merit. The movement gained significant support and led to the government announcing a review and subsequent reforms in the quota system. In this video I have explained how this protest started.
