Excellent shop and business
Con Gratz to Jason at Rocket Railways for having a good business idea and I hope all goes well for you. I like the idea of the club and the re-use of second-hand items made into the Mystery Boxes. I think I will try it out myself Rob, so I will look forward to seeing your "?" box of included goodies. A splendid video and to know about this reclaimed model items market, as it will be an invaluable place to come to, to look at and get any spare parts that I need. For instance, I need two cab interiors plus head and taillight clusters for my Hornby Class 37 Cephus to do a mod upgrade.
I'm already subscribed to both channels, so this was a great video of me!
Your information is so 😎
Great video Rob and good luck to Jason in the future with his shop.
I think the attitude shown here is great. Near me I only have a couple of model stores and I find the atmosphere in them cold and frankly condescending, as though they are doing you a favour to sell you something. Gone are the days I remember where the people running these stores were doing so because they genuinely loved the hobby and were happy to chat and advise rather than just sell. What a shame we don't have a rocket rail down this way...
What a great idea selling those mystery boxes, wish there was something like that over here. Great Video.
Been following Rocket Railways for a while but those mystery boxes are exactly what I've been looking for! Can't wait to see what's in them 😁
I've opened mine up and started filming. Pretty pleased with what I got and I think I can do something with it.
Great story and one that I can associate with, my boys turning 5 soon and have his first boxed railway as his present... He's going to be so excited 🚂 for me I remember the toy store Beatties, it was much less stuffy than some model shops that seem to have forgotten models are just models. The price these days definitely makes it hard to connect children to the hobby.
As always Rob, a great video. I recently discovered your channel (subscribed obviously) and am using it to help me convert my DC layout to full DCC++ and your guides are invaluable. Nice to see Jason and Rocket railways feature as they are a great bunch. Local to me so when I can I like to pop in and see what treasures they have.
Cheers Brendon 👍 definitely worth popping in if you're local they're a really nice team
Great video Rob. Interview format works well
Cheers Chris. I've not interviewed anyone on camera before so I felt a bit awkward. Jason is really good though and finding out about his business was very interesting.
Brilliant stuff! I have seen quite a few of the Rocket MR videos and they are splendid. And what a fantastic little business that is. And how innovative! I love that free paints rack, such a lovely idea! 😎
Really enjoyed this mate, look forward to the unveiling 😜👍🍻🍀
Hi Rob, when are you going to open the 'Mystery Box'... The suspence is killing me...
Is Rocket Railways still in business? Their website seems to have gone offline some time ago and the shop status on Google says permanently closed. Shame if so.
I'm not sure what the situation is. Hopefully just a temporary thing. They were a lovely team.
This is fantastic. I wish we had places like this local to me.
I'd love to find somewhere that sold the older locos at a reasonable cost here.
Don't suppose these guys are on eBay? :P
Seriously though, keep up the great work.
I believe they have two Ebay shops. One for complete items and one for spares:
www.ebay.co.uk/str/rocketrailways
www.ebay.co.uk/str/rocketrailwaysspares
When are they moving , they screwed my order up and claimed it was down to them being in a move and the missing items would be sent out, a week later no item, I messaged them and they just refunded, poorly handled transaction, I wont use them again.
I'm glad you werent out of pocket as they gave you the money back quickly. I'm not sure what else they could be expected to do if they couldn't provide an item.
Lovely to see two great guys collaborate here, lets bring back the not so serious side and what really matters, having fun and a passion for the Hobby!! another great video Rob!!
Thanks! It was fun to collaborate.
