The sad part is that he never found out how to smooch the whimsun. For those who didn't know, if you encounter a whimsun and a froggit, smooching the froggit will result in an option for smooching the whimsun. It'a a cute little interaction but sadly still doesn't let you spare both.
I like how they handled Asgore here: he is calm and careful to you like Toriel but he is less hand holdey and trys to prepare you for the journey ahead instead of being over protective.
Of the top of my head i have *gasp Undertale, underfell, underswap, fellswap, swapfell, glitchtale, x-tale, underlust, errortale, dreamtale and storyshift. I know more but forget there names
This is the first Undertale fan game that really feels like Undertale. The writing, the dialogue, the mechanics and the mercy methods. Even the additional things, like the smoother animations and the Journal feel like something Undertale *would* have had. Like an Undertale+.
I never thought Temmie could be scarier than Chara, especially considering Temmie is supposed to be Flowey, and I am honestly terrified to see the Omega version.

You see, I love it when AUs are handled this way; being original in its own way without losing the main idea/concept. Underswap used to be just a plain swap with no changes whatsoever, just a fun idea that ends up being pretty bland when implemented into a game, where all you do is replace a few sprites and dialog. This game not only changed the roles, but also implemented its own ideas, it's own dialog, it's own situations, it's own structures and even concepts! Incredible how they managed to make such a simple idea work so well!
I love how faithful chara’s personality is in this game. They aren’t any different than base undertale, and it’s faithful to the point where I’m astounded that it’s not made by Fox himself. It makes this experience so much better. If I had a dime for every time someone looked at spooky evil stab chara and say “yeah this is right” I’d be Jeff bezos tbh

More like recreating then parody There’s a difference. Parody is usually done for the sake of poking fun at the original, usually with respect for it in mind The recreation is more like recreating moments in cool and clever ways so it’s not just “oh instead of ketchup it’s mustard” or something like that, while also adding original stuff.
ehh... I feel like Inverted Fate captures that magic way better, sure it's not a full game, but it is a 50 Chapter-long comic and oh boi is it good. The fact that you don't interact with the world doesn't stop it from being just as emotional as the original game.

Both are role swaps that maintain the personality of the characters, both take undertale's gameplay and add significant reworks(TS!Swap mostly does this in the overworld, like with the journal stuff and more complex puzzles, whilst IF has a unique combat system thanks to Papyrus fighting alongside Frisk.), and Papyrus is an inventor in both(Acting as Undyne's lab partner in IF and making tools for Sans to use in his superheroing), and both subtly make fun of the fandom at certain points(With TS!Sans talking about the fans patience(which we all know is severely lacking) at the end of the demo, whilst IF does it a couple times, my favorite being the "creepy" Papyrus robot in hotland which happens to be the exact shallow misrepresentation of Papyrus which many fans treat as canon.), etc.

I noticed that at 24:00, in one of the walls holes, you can see Temmie peeking at you. This is probably referring to the fact that in certain rooms in Undertale, if you go back, you can see briefly see Flowey go into the ground, as though he was watching you.

Potential pre-game useful information: the name creation menu is interesting. It has many funny moments, just like undertale. Including: temmie, flowey, sans, papyru(yes, no S at the end because it's too long lol), toriel, asgore, alphys, dummy, undyne, burger, and then you have gaster, frisk and chara. Ts!underswap also has a spep mode and a hard mode. Get spep mode by calling yourself "spep" and... you mind will be blown lmao. Hard mode is activated by calling yourself "hard" (I think). That's it I think. Maybe some of the side character's names work too. Might have missed some but yeah.

Like, instead of Frisk and Toriel it's Chara and Asgore, and instead of Sans being Papyrus's older brother it's Papyrus who is the older brother? Am I somewhere in the ballpark? Underswap switches the roles of many characters. The humans are reversed, Toriel is swapped with Asgore, Sans with Papyrus, Alphys with Undyne, etc! And thank you! :D

This is like one of the most realistic undertale fan games
Potential pre-game useful information: the name creation menu is interesting. It has many funny moments, just like undertale. Including: temmie, flowey, sans, papyru(yes, no S at the end because it's too long lol), toriel, asgore, alphys, dummy, undyne, burger, and then you have gaster, frisk and chara. Ts!underswap also has a spep mode and a hard mode. Get spep mode by calling yourself "spep" and... you mind will be blown lmao. Hard mode is activated by calling yourself "hard" (I think). That's it I think. Maybe some of the side character's names work too. Might have missed some but yeah.

Woah, this fangame looks AWESOME! It has multiple characters, an overworld, an actual story, it looks good and functions good, it is incredible! WOW! :D
I've never heard of Underswap before, but this definitely has me interested. I'm guessing Underswap is Undertale but in reverse? Like, instead of Frisk and Toriel it's Chara and Asgore, and instead of Sans being Papyrus's older brother it's Papyrus who is the older brother? Am I somewhere in the ballpark?

Underswap switches the roles of many characters. The humans are reversed, Toriel is swapped with Asgore, Sans with Papyrus, Alphys with Undyne, etc!

I'm gonna finish up watching your original videos of this game from 3 years ago first, then I'm gonna watch the recent videos. This is an extremely well made fangame. Like, Undertale Yellow level well made.

Alas, Merg plays the game that, imo, catches/replicates perfectly the feeling of Undertale.
Make sure to always try talking to monsters and checking stuff at least twice though. And once you meet a guy in a shop, select the dialogue otions several times, it's hilarious. Also, select USE on the phone, it has some funny responses

Sadly, there aren't as many interactions with the overworld, at least not at the start...
However, I think in the puzzles you should finish all of them, for a special reward.
