I love her! She is sweet, jolly and spontaneous! Her voice has, as least for this size an amazing upper range and easy top notes. It has a lyric timbre but is very big. Spinto sized true dramatic coloratura. I like her vibrato (here) but most people don’t. Their problem.
Okay nasty people. The fact that a voice this size can sing the runs the way she does is remarkable. That and the glorious high notes! This is a very hard role. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In the original key()A) the high note is an E natural. Sutherland sang it in that key at first and recorded it in that key.She started singing it in Ab after awhile..BTW Meade is very fine in Verdi, she should stick to that. But I give her snaps to undertake the role. diDinato should leave it alone, as should she Aldagisa in Norma, however..Just not the right voice for that stuff. She is a soprano of the old vintage, to hell with the waist, make the sound!! Gelb has to use her, because so few sing the role. The role of Arsace is also no little undertaking. Hell, the whole damn thing is Italian bel-canto Wagner. Thanks, CM -Indy Opera
I thought the same. Not a good advertisement for the Met either. It is a rehearsal, not a finished product, but the way she is singing probably won't get better until the show. The stingy, wobbly quality and fast, slightly ill-tuned vibrato hurt my ears.
High larynx at it's best... I saw ther Semirame at that time. The contralto was AMAZING! But she sang many high notes out of pitch and every single note above the E was squeezed! She have an AMAZING personallity (And she is a beuatiful lady), but damn, there is a problem going on with opera you guys...
.... il canto non è bello per niente!!!! We may have a very nice dramatic soprano here, but not Semiramide. I don't know who is the best Semiramide today....maybe it was just meant for Isabella Colbran!

But her vibrato is so wide you barely hear what not she is singing...
Gorgeous. :)
Wow!!

She has an incredible voice...but not her repertorie!
Gorgeous! I meant Isabel Leonard.
Please don't call that belcanto soprano
Александр Усачев .....exactly
Александр Усачев She need better coaching in finding HER way to serve the music sometimes. She can be unbeatable or a little ”messy” like here.
High larynx, nasal and overly bright.

Quanto talento, brava!!!! Darmatico coloratura

Is it just me, or does her vibrato sound like a bubbling pot of boiling water? 🤔
But the rest is lovely
Daniela Tampu And I like her vibrato!
@adventures of a young tenor lmfao she is NOT a dramatic coloratura soprano by any stretch. I Literally almost pissed myself laughing.
They kind of look like sisters
Oh dear, too bad Joan Sutherland canceled that day.
This is why people hate opera.
Not all people hate opera. I hate football. There are considerably more opera fans world wide than that of American football.
Not a Semiramide voice. Screrchy high notes and her coloratura doesn't exist. Tjis is not how you sing Bel Canto
.... il canto non è bello per niente!!!!

Stupid comment. Semiramide was not a real person, so how do YOU personally know what the ONLY way to do it would be?
@@kikipt I would prefer one who actually can sing.
agilità brutte e nevrotiche. Non è certo una voce rossiniana! Repertorio troppo vasto in cosi poco tempo. Ma un maestro che la indirizzi bene? No?
Au secours !!!!!
HORRIBLE!
Embarrassing "singing"
Repertorio sbagliato.
Too much wobble in her voice.
Awful
