„The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the U.S. city of San Francisco, California-the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula-to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco and California. It was initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world."[ At the time of its opening in 1937, it was both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 4,200 feet (1,280 m) and a total height of 746 feet (227 m).“

My mom was on it the day it opened. ❤❤ My stepgrampa was one of the iron workers who helped build it. I love it so much. I can't say how many times I've been on it. Sailed under once too! Fun date!!😊😊❤

I guess growing up in the Bay Area I take it for granted cause I would have never of thought of the bridge in this manner lol. I will say it’s very nice looking and amazing views while walking on it.

Been to San Francisco twice, June 2017 I drove my Mustang convertible from Toledo to Big Basin state park and made a stop for lunch at Pier 39. And in January 2020, I flew my mom out to California for her 70th birthday and we stopped at Lake Tahoe, Muir woods, Alcatraz island, Stinson beach, dinner at Pier 39, California state railroad museum in Sacramento and Yosemite national park .

Golden gate bridge my favourite bridge in the world
Grew up there 1956-1975 and crossed it many times, walked it in 1971 with future husband who was born in the city. You could see the top of the towers from the front porch of our house located down the peninsula in Millbrae.
