Regarding your comment about storing used batteries and fresh batteries in the same bag, I use some red and green XT60 caps. They were super cheap and provide a nice way to see which batteries have been used. another option is to store fresh ones "cable end up" and used batteries "cable end down". As always, great video Joshua, and thank you for all of the guidance you offer newbies starting in this hobby.
What a great coincidence! I just got one of these not even a week ago and had never heard of it. Wife just googled it and ordered it for me! Then to top it off one of my go to UA-cam quad info guys (JB!) posts a video of how to pack it up! Brilliant!
Thanks for sharing Joshua! And yes, I have used your links to get a few items that I didn't realize would make things easier for me in the field. When you retire from all the Amazon compensation dough, remember that I helped... LOL!
If you lived in Australia, that empty section would be for sunscreen and bug spray. Nothing worse than a fly crawling up your nose or in your ear when flying :) I take a slightly different approach to Joshua as my props, prop wrench, motor grips, hex drivers and multi-tool (turnigy v2 magnet thingy) all go in that middle top section on the outside. That way once you unload your quad, radio, goggles and batteries, the main section gets zipped up and I only need to access the smaller outside bit most of the time. Batteries go in a waterproof tupperware container stored in the same spot as Joshua, but I take the container out and just use those silicon end caps to identify full/empty lipos.
The great thing about this pack is how adaptable it is to your personal needs. I always fly with the whole pack flipped open on the ground next to me so I can get at whatever.
Agreed, choice is good. Can see the appeal, and maybe I'm just paranoid, but I've no desire to provide extra opportunity for undesirables to hitch a ride in my backpack.
Great review !! Thank you for the in-depth look at it, I too am traveling out of the country for a few months, and I’m looking for a backpack that will fit my GoPro Karma drone and gear with my 15” laptop 💻 , I can’t say I have found one that will keep both safe, and I’m not wanting to spend $$$$$ for one!
Lowepro makes a quad backpack??? LOL I have one for my DSL gear but I never knew. Best gear. LOL your backpack is like the contents of my desk drawer. Electronics is a fun hobby. I have 4 of those B3's.....connected them all to one AC plug. Efficiency.
At work so couldn't listen to the audio but have you ever had issues traveling with your tools such as the hex wrenches, soldering iron, any pliers, scissors? In the past I've been pulled aside because I was trying to travel with my Cat5 crimper. They stated no tool over 4" was allowed. I promptly went outside, cracked half the end of the handle off my crimper and they were okay with it then. Since then I usually separate my tools into a checked bag so that I don't get asked to throw away the tools that I need and use every day.
Hey Joshua, love your channel. I couldn't have gotten into this I'll be without you. I'm sure you've gotten tons of requests to review the runcam split. I would love it if you talked about the pros and cons of excusing using it over a go pro or equivalent. Is the river situation where a separate Hd cam would be a good idea? I just got to the point in my skills where I think it would be beneficial to have recordings and I'm not sure which way to go. The split or an old go pro. Not super concerned about ultra high video quality. I was looking at getting the run Cam three for an old GoPro before the split at the scene. You were advice on the matter would be much appreciated.
My mom has gotten me a pair of those. She says that when those tools go into the operating room even if they don't get opened they cannot get re-used so they get thrown away. She just kept an eye out and took them instead of throwing them out.
That's pretty odd. I have seen the decontamination rooms of hospitals where they sterilize all the equipment. I'm not sure what the point of that is if they are throwing out the tools after use.
Sorry if this is addressed somewhere else, but I can't find it in your content. Do you use a lipo fire bag? How do you store (physically, not voltage) your lipos? Like most people, I'm not home all day so I want to make sure my family and home are safe when Im not there...
As a Hackney, I take offense to the term "banal"! It's such a hackneyed term (j/k). Thanks for an informative video, I'm a bit of an organization junky in my other endeavors so this was right up my alley. I'll make sure to use your links as I purchase things, may as well spread the wealth a little bit.
Very kind of you. I try to be ethical with the affiliate links, and only link to products I actually use and recommend. If you use them, it costs you nothing and puts a little bit of money in my pocket, which is always nice. In case you weren't aware, you don't have to purchase the exact item I link to. You can just click on any of my affiliate links and do your normal shopping, and I will get a commission. So if you are ever about to buy a big-ticket item on Amazon, well... you know ;-)
Thanks and yes, I know about how the affiliate linking works. I spend an ungodly amount on amazon for my 3D printing addiction and now quad addiction, tools, stuff I'm just too lazy to go to the store, etc. I'll throw some your way for sure.
Hi Joshua, thanks for this. I got the BPX2 and finally got my first fatsharks with diversity setup. No problems leaving the antennas on the googles? I was worried it will damage them, but screwing them on everytime also sucks...thanks.
Thank you, I thought so. In the video they were still on, so I thought if the mighty Joshua leaves them on I can too. It’s not actually such a hassle so I shall take them off. Keep up the great work, highly appreciated!
How would you rate the backpack for hiking? I'm in need of a new FPV-backpack, but it must be comfortable to carry over long distances. Does it come with a chest- and hip belt and if so, are they comfortable?
It has a chest strap but not a hip strap. Compared to some dedicated backpacking packs, the straps are not as thick. I haven't done any really long hikes with it, but it is reasonably comfortable. I have found myself wondering whether it would get less comfortable after a long hike though. I have wondered whether the straps are thinner than they should be given the quad's weight. But on the flip-side, LowePro has a good history of designing bags so I am inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. If you really want to know, you should try to find somebody who has hiked with the pack. Or give me until around late October. I have a trip to Maui coming up and I will probably be doing some hiking with this pack.
Compared to the bp-x2 is the only difference the laptop, or also have a bigger space? I found only vouce coments comparing the version 2 vs the version 3 of the lowepros, thank you!
Ah! thats a challenge, as i saw a 10 lot set of V. Mueller clamps on eBay for 300$... try stringing "surgical grade" in the query, looks like some better options come up. Avoid descriptions that say "stamped" steel. Made in Germany is the best, however if it is made in Pakistan and forged it is ok too.
Hey Joshua stupid question but looking for more performance from my quad just wondering what the max CPU utilization should be for a quad to be able to fly with out it being detrimental or anything. Bf 3.1.6 runnning 4K gyro 2k pids wanting 4K 4K
You can do 8k/8k on and F3 without issue unless you are really going crazy on features like LEDstrip, Softserial, etc. With BF 3.0 and higher, 50% utilization is no problem.
I actually forgot to add it to the bag when I prepped it for this video, but yeah I bring a para board. It's in the equipment list in the video description. The antenna is the TrueRC X-Air 10 dBi Crosshair Antenna - goo.gl/YCnjGx
How do you get 20 or 30 4s lipos in that "tool bag"? I have the X2 and have resorted to carrying my lipos outside of it because enough just don't fit inside of it when I have a quad in there also.
how are you using the b3pro portable charger to top off your Fatshark batteries when you can't charge via the "balance" cable that's on a fatshark battery?
Sorry, I meant the cheap one that came with the Wizard.. the B3 Pro ImaxRC.. I've got one of those laying around too and that sounds like a good use for it.
I find it amazing how it seems to be so normal to be ripped off by the TSA. Is that your experience? The one time I visited your country I survived New York but got my presents stolen by an State official...
I didn't get ripped off. I had the option to go back out of security and retrieve my checked bag and put it in the checked bag. But I didn't have time before my flight to do all that. It was my mistake to leave it in the bag. TSA didn't steal it. I decided that the value of making my flight was higher than the value of giving up the tool. This is 100% a situation that I created for myself.
It depends on how many batteries I've packed, since they add up quickly. I just measured, and the dry weight, with no quads, no batteries, no goggles, and no transmitter, is 15 lbs. I would estimate less than 25 lbs all up.
Almost lost my lost my Leatherman wave to the "friendly" TSA agents. Ended up missing the flight because I had to run back to the vehicle, not about to give them my $100 tool
can you suggest me some good motor for 60$ or a little more there is a lot but can't find any and want it from bangood and I have three choices that are emax or Tmotor air or zmx20 I am planning a five quad build
Any of those are good motors. Emax RS2205S have had some problems with slipping magnets although I don't know how widespread they are. T-Motor Air are okay. ZMX has a good name but I don't know the ZMX20 directly.
The tmotor air are older style motors I would personally not put them on a race quad, if I had to choose between the three motors I would go with the zmx... miniquadtestbench.com has all the motor info that your seek...only you can make the right choice for your needs but realistically any modern motor is very very good(one that's come out within the past year) I think the brother hobby motors(tornado, returner, hyperlite, oomph and others) are the best of the best but your really splitting hairs with these new motors
For the price your looking for the zmx are the best in my opinion, I don't think you'll find the new generation emax red bottoms for 60$ a set, unless they're on sale somewhere they're normally 80$ motors so make sure your looking at the new style. In my opinion if your going to try and save $ on a build don't do it with the motors, an 80$ set of motors generally gets u top of the line performance 2206 motors at the moment and motors generally determine the most how your quad will fly. But check out miniquadtestbench because there are some more budget minded motors that put out great power
I just ordered of these bags and I dont see anybody with bug spray in their bag but I know its gonna go in my side pocket because I hate Mosquitoes biting me when I am flying.

That is where I got my first set. The 2nd set is from China and is nowhere near as good. If anybody out there works at a hospital and wants to send me the discarded ones, I would be so thankful.
$199 for the BP X3. WHAT A BARGAIN. But seriously, it's not for everybody. There are other cheap bags that do a kick ass job. If you're the kind of person who wants to spend $200 on a premium bag, this bag kicks ass. It better for $200!
88Nikoli I bought mine in Australia from an online camera shop. $140 delivered. Can't remember which one tho.... There was a few places listing them as a "clearance" item.
Joshua Bardwell nah I'm just messin with ya, I love your vids :) keep up the great content Joshua. I'm 95% sure Ima buy this bag with another set of tools too.
Joshua Bardwell since you get a small kick back from Amazon links, can you also provide me a link to the current sensor clamps you used in the current calibration video? :)
@@JoshuaBardwell It's just Lowpro's site shows it as 3.5cm fatter then the allowed limit. I just don't want to get a security guy with a measuring tape that's had a bad day. :)

Joshua Bardwell thank you for deleting that fool
+Coppertop FPV there's already a GoFundMe account set up by his Friends for his memorial.
Different airports they are different security, I was taken away a crimping (ethernet) tool, too. I maybe looks strainge ...
Hi Joshua, I need to ask you about your antenas? How can one tell the difference from a right or a left hand one?:)🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😜👏
For the cased antennas, they are usually marked in some way, either with an arrow or LH or RH or something like that.

I believe it's the same size as the BPX2 just with laptop slot.
Joshua Bardwell unvaluable info, dont ever stop our dope joshua vids ,
P.S. the first set of "hemostats" you show aren't hemostats, they are Needle Drivers / Holders. Bit of a stickler viewer here ;) Love the videos!
Yeah but tell me where I can order a really good set, not the cheap stuff I see on Amazon that doesn't line up right.

I alway look forward to your videos. This one is excellent, No more Wizard?? Oh no!! Still have the Babyhawk? Keep up the great work.
I still have the Babyhawk but it's got a damaged motor. I have a new Babyhawk coming, in translucent pink!!!
i guess you've heard that JC "project blue falcon" has passed away after a motorbike crash , he was a top guy and will be sorely missed .

I use NCR batteries for my fatshark goggles. Easier to bring 4-6 NCR batteries than an entire charger for them
Wow, chris at armattan just sent me this! I had no idea it could fit so much!
Is there a possibility of fitting a 6 inch quad like the QAV-RXL in this bag or would it have to go in propless?
I'm not sure about that. You can always put it on the outside though. I'm sure it would go in propless.
Did you get extra straps on the back? I only had 2 or failed to find the missing one.
Mine came with 3 -- one across the back and one on each side.
No parallell board for hotel room charging?
And what's you directional antenna please?
I actually forgot to add it to the bag when I prepped it for this video, but yeah I bring a para board. It's in the equipment list in the video description.
The antenna is the TrueRC X-Air 10 dBi Crosshair Antenna - goo.gl/YCnjGx
Hey Josh,
What's the difference between the x2 and x3 bag ? beside 50 dollars ?
Padded, suspended laptop sleeve in the X3.
ua-cam.com/video/fRAnEGSq2IM/v-deo.html
Ok, thanks bud
that bag is way cool
Is this the bpx2 or 3 buddy? I'm looking for a bag, but it HAS to have internal quad storage
BPX2 and BPX3 both have the same internal storage. Just the BPX3 has a laptop slot.
How do you get 20 or 30 4s lipos in that "tool bag"? I have the X2 and have resorted to carrying my lipos outside of it because enough just don't fit inside of it when I have a quad in there also.
IDK I mean I just put them in there... They're 1300-1500 size FWIW.
LOL OK. Maybe I just need to move the bottom divider up a little and give it another try.
Hi, are you still using this bag ?
how are you using the b3pro portable charger to top off your Fatshark batteries when you can't charge via the "balance" cable that's on a fatshark battery?
XT60 to barrel adapter. Use NiMh program. I set it to 0.5 amps.
Sorry, I meant the cheap one that came with the Wizard.. the B3 Pro ImaxRC.. I've got one of those laying around too and that sounds like a good use for it.

Doh', ..Just saw the Amazon link.
well damn now im buying jewelers tweezers
OH GOD WHAT'S IN THE BAG!!! WHAT'S IN THE BAG!
JOHN DOE HAS THE UPPER HAND.
Joshua Bardwell ha ha.
is it worth the bpx3 over the bpx2?????????? its almost a $50 difference
Do you have a laptop? Then BPX3 it is.
where do you store your props?
Sir is it aloud to bring quad inside the airport?
Biskocho FPV PH yes, it's not a bomb.
Borninvincibl3 FPV thank you.
Where do you rout the battery cable on your chameleon so the props can't get it?
I think the best way to do it is probably to route it up the front between the top plate and the camera pod.
Ok thanks a lot! I was thinking of doing that but I'm worried that it could rub through the cable very easely there
Josh Maxwell that's how it is on my chameleon, just added some heat shrink to protect the cable. So far, no problem.
From an outside look, Do BP X3 and X2 look the same in size?
+Kaan Aslan yes they are pretty close.
Notiflyyy!!!
can you bring so many tools in to the plane, hex even multi tools pliers?? I don't thing so...
Answered at the end of the video. He takes the tools out and puts them in the bag that goes into the plane laguage area
Mikolas 3D Printing Sorry had not enought time to watch to the end.
It's like Aladins cave in that bag
Do you know a shop that sells the BPX3 and can ship to Europe?
I don't.
Hey Joshua what is the total weight of the bag with everything in it?
It depends on how many batteries I've packed, since they add up quickly. I just measured, and the dry weight, with no quads, no batteries, no goggles, and no transmitter, is 15 lbs. I would estimate less than 25 lbs all up.
Joshua Bardwell cool thanks.
Actually far lighter than I would've imagined. The bag can hold heaps!
on your transmitter, why don't use just put a small SMA dummy load on? that's what I do
That's an option.
why can't I find this bag anywhere?
Almost lost my lost my Leatherman wave to the "friendly" TSA agents. Ended up missing the flight because I had to run back to the vehicle, not about to give them my $100 tool

Funny that u point out what "banal" means. In german it's exactly the same word but pritty common in use. ^^
Holy crap, this is like the ultimate FPV set of tools. Now I feel undergeared.
And...how much does that weight? Fully loaded
Around 25 lbs depending how many batteries I have.
I just ordered of these bags and I dont see anybody with bug spray in their bag but I know its gonna go in my side pocket because I hate Mosquitoes biting me when I am flying.
NOTIFICATION SQUAD!
TOOT TOOOT!
Cool - thanks...
you cant bring those tools on airplane as carryon, can u ? cause arent they consider as sharp objects?
No, you can't. I say in the video that you have to check the tools in your checked bag.
I thought FatShark batteries should NOT be balance charged. Or maybe you just have different batteries
That's not a stock Fatshark battery. It's aftermarket. You are correct that the Fatshark batteries from Fatshark should not be balance charged.

$160 for a single bag??? ROFLCOPTER! Ummm NO!
You could just get a 3 dollar makeup bag haha
Lol i should be called Banal FPV
Must weigh a ton!
charging over night *cringe*
Too much effort to take out expensive tools out of the bag. So just buy a second set. First world problems lul
It's not like we're talking about even hundreds of dollars in tools. Maybe $100 at most.
Joshua Bardwell nah I'm just messin with ya, I love your vids :) keep up the great content Joshua. I'm 95% sure Ima buy this bag with another set of tools too.
Well feel free to use the links in the video description if you know what I mean....
Joshua Bardwell since you get a small kick back from Amazon links, can you also provide me a link to the current sensor clamps you used in the current calibration video? :)
Do you know the actual outside dimensions of the x2 or x3? Can it be squished bellow 40x23x51cm?
It is legal for carryon and fits in an overhead if that's what you're asking.
@@JoshuaBardwell It's just Lowpro's site shows it as 3.5cm fatter then the allowed limit. I just don't want to get a security guy with a measuring tape that's had a bad day. :)
