This ability to cycle through items is absolutely amazing. Gone are the days of fighting the wall of flesh 20 times to get the right emblem for your build.
@@omegakek luminite + shimmer liquid = Chlorophyte Chlorophyte can be used to make bullets, luminite drops are around 70~90 or so. Meaning that if you already defeat moon lord and have all you wanted from luminite then you can convert said into chlorophyte to make anything else, or you can also keep downgrading it into other ores. There's basically endless possibilities with this. TL;DR Shimmer turns luminite to chlorophyte, chlorophyte has more uses than luminite at the end game
Actually, dropping coins in increases your luck for a duration and amount that correlates with the amount and type of money, respectively. Also, wood to dirt can be very useful for single-world-characters, because it makes an easy to access, infinitely renewable source of dirt, mainly useful for building or maybe fixing up a world you tore up and long ago threw away the materials to
@@1q34w I'm not sure what the exact conversion from dirt to dirt bombs is, but I am sure it is a net positive. I was going to say that it would be the only access to renewable dirt, but I remembered the bombs right then and changed my statement to "easy to access".
Let’s be honest, that’s probably a good thing. If you’re on single player then the only person setting the trap up is yourself, and why would you want to set off your own trap?
The ore thing is actually super useful for making the drill containment unit. Now instead of having to mine hundreds and hundreds of chlorophyte for it we can just use the excess luminite we get from farming the moon lord
Random idea either for an update/mod Shimmered bosses: Dropping a boss summoning item (ex: Suspicious looking eye) into shimmer would turn it into a shimmered variant (so perhaps Suspicious looking eye would be Suspiciously shimmered eye). If enemies and npc's can interact with the liquid, why not bosses too?
I think its because hellstone is in every world (unlike some of the pre-hm/early hm ores) and isn’t used for much beyond the pre-hm gear (chlorophyte is used for chlorophyte based ammo)
I do have a feeling that the lack of hellstone could be an oversight. It's clearly a tier of its own between platinum and cobalt, and is definitely useful for various things (including DCU).
I have a theory about the disappearing coins thing. Maybe it works like a magical wishing well? And it uses coins, which are usually thrown into a well when making a wish, to fuel its transmutations? so when you drop coins into this pool, it's absorbing them as though adding them to its "Wish-Energy". And perhaps that's how it became like that in the first place, maybe this place was once a place people came to make wishes, and the sheer volume of coins and wish-energy turned the water into this Shimmer fluid, saturated with magical transmutative energy. Also, The uncrafting mechanic is actually Broken, because now you can uncraft things with bad modifiers and re-craft them hoping for a better Modifier. Take THAT, Goblin Tinkerer!
The uncraft thing only work after you defeat Moon Lord, which is basically end if the game already, since you’re probably stronger than literally everything now just make it so you don’t need to grind just to get some reforge.

This one addition opens the flood gates for so many cool concepts for the game. If I were relogic I would have a hard time not developing new content for this game too, my mind is running wild seeing this
I love how with the shimmer, you get ambrosia which is considered the drink of gods in greek mythology. i just think that‘s really neat, considering you can only get the shimmer bucket after the moonlord :]
i think the luminite + bottomless waterbucket recipe was only added if you wanted to introduce shimmer to old worlds, as it seems like you can find it naturally in certain seeds (or so ive heard)
As someone who has very few normal trees in their world, the wood transformation is a life saver. I've gathered thousands of spooky wood from doing pumpkin moons, and I'm so glad I can finally put them to good use.
Yes, some "Shimmer Upgrades" seem to be locked for post moon lord, like the Rod of Harmony and the Terraformer. Not 100% sure tho, take everything with a grain of salt guys, there is SO much misinformation spreaded atm because this is so new.
for anyone wondering how to find this biome, this trick can't fail. all you need to do is go to the jungle side of the world, find the ocean on that side, travel slightly away from the ocean back into the biome next to the ocean and dig straight down, you'll find it, no matter what.
Here’s another tip: If you find an aether biome, make a house next to it and set up a pylon network. You can easily get back to the shimmer Edit: Shimmer can also reforge accessories for FREE! Drop an accessory that is a combination of two in shimmer. Then redraft it until you get the modifier you want.
Yeah. But every time I make worlds I always subconsciously make sure to make houses in every biomes for a future network. I’m gonna start waiting for the underground house until I find a shimmer. But yeah pylons aren’t for everyone but y’know whatever
It toghether with the coin toss blessing you with luck reminds me rather of the lady of the lake, or, fountain fairy. You toss in something valuable and you get back something different, usually even more valuable. Those critter fairies flying around make this theory even more plausible to me that there is a "fairy deity" inside that shimmer pond doing things.
How shimmer works with projectiles: For Most gravity projectiles, they are quite buoyant, floating back up and out with ~= speed. Most straight shooters (even the rain clouds) are bounced. Bombs and bouncy projectiles (like flower of fire) behave like this too. Enchanted projectiles (enchanted sword bean and jester arrows) ignore it and behave like normal. Well except the added resistance by the liquid.
Don't forget the part where you're invulnerable while the effect is active! *vibrates in a teleportation contraption used for BSing and invulnerability against bosses*
Actually depends...If you're in the air when you fire, they shoot downwards like you'd expect. But they're also effected by reverse gravity...like you'd expect. So they do eventually turn and start 'falling' back upwards.
I think it would be kinda anti climactic, i mean it would just drop the souls of the universe, dimensions, the siblings, and terraria with some eternal energy. Sniper's, Conjurist's, Supersonic souls would be more satisfying to un-craft because this 3 have 14 different direct crafting materials
If you guys somehow want to find nazar but it's hard... you can get it with megaphone by dropping the megaphone on shimmer water maybe some of you guys already know...hope this can help a bit 👍🏻 (Megaphone is way easier to get than Nazar) [i think?]
Definitely, you can probably get a megaphone from just 10 minutes of pixie farming but the nazar is just something that you have to be really lucky for.
After all these years, when I do a run I can finally have a way to switch my 20 bezoars into something useful other than coins. But honestly though, haven't been playing terraria recently, might have to get back into the game when the update comes to mobile, this looks like a pretty cool update.

The only prehardmode accessories that craft into the Ankh Shield are Bezoar and Nazar I believe (aside from the Obsidian Shield). So you could use this to get the Adhesive Bandage and the Megaphone respectively. Obsidian shield just uncrafts itself if that's thrown in, same with the Countercurse Mantra and Medicated Bandage which are the union of the 4 accessories mentioned earlier.
Huh, I hadn't thought of that... I guess you can actually do that to get those 2 hardmode accessories early, which would mostly help against expert+ Skeletron and Brain of Cthulhu.
When i found shimmer in multiplayer 1. Craft items 2. Get the bottomless shimmer bucket 3. Baptizing my friend to the shimmer and make them straight to the backrooms ( underworld )
@@RoroAsriel 4 defense is not a lot. 1 hp/sec is not a lot. Mana regen can be pretty good, that's true. Luck takes pearl and no one does fishing in oasis. Infinite teleport is post ML which is not as good for general use as Soaring Insignia and ML star-wings because you have to swap your weapon to it. It is good for builders for sure but it REALLY isn't op. It's more of a QoL thing. So yeah. It's not that OP. Also chances are you find shimmer unless you search for it which can take a while and you get rewarded with increased mana regen which kind of makes sense. You could also say that it's infinite reforges on craftable items, but it takes ages, but yeah, this one is pretty valuable. What I do like though is ability to permanently increase building speed because brick layer and builder potion is just not enough for large scale arenas or farms and pigronatas.

That refers to town NPCs. NPC itself is what the game uses to refer to enemies/critters/town NPCs, although it's a bit ambiguous.

The Gas Trap has a bug that when AutoPause is on for inventories, the gas won't be released in singleplayer only. Found in Consoles.

One thing I forgot if you mentioned it: if you throw a biome key in, you will get that biome chest out of it

You'd need to build a town to use the pylon but it could be cool to have a cavern town there.

Also if you throw stone in the shimmer it transform it into dirt too, that means any ore/crystal/wood can be transformed into dirt

It seems that the Shimmer arrows don't have any special interaction with the Stormbow.
12:30 coins is exchange for luck the more you drop the more luck you get(not recommended to trow all coins)

2. Get the bottomless shimmer bucket
3. Baptizing my friend to the shimmer and make them straight to the backrooms ( underworld )

4 defense is not a lot.
1 hp/sec is not a lot.
Mana regen can be pretty good, that's true.
Luck takes pearl and no one does fishing in oasis.
Infinite teleport is post ML which is not as good for general use as Soaring Insignia and ML star-wings because you have to swap your weapon to it. It is good for builders for sure but it REALLY isn't op. It's more of a QoL thing.
So yeah. It's not that OP. Also chances are you find shimmer unless you search for it which can take a while and you get rewarded with increased mana regen which kind of makes sense.
You could also say that it's infinite reforges on craftable items, but it takes ages, but yeah, this one is pretty valuable.
What I do like though is ability to permanently increase building speed because brick layer and builder potion is just not enough for large scale arenas or farms and pigronatas.
