- PlaneWorldBerlin, the unofficial TXL archive channel, went back to Berlin Tegel Airport again and discovered in September 2022 during an apron tour how the former airfield looks now. This time we are also visiting how the big hangar of the former airport looks like.

Echt traurig, dass der schließen musste obwohl eine Mehrheit der Berliner für eine Offenhaltung gestimmt hatte. So kurze Wege und in der Stadt, einfach ein guter Airport.
Vielen Dank für's anschauen und den Kommentar. Es ist noch immer ein Gefühl, dass man gleich los fliegen möchte, wenn man in Tegel sich bewegt.
This is the place where I first set foot on Europe/Germany soil 10 years ago, many fond memories flying through TXL (last time landed there in summer 2019), planespotting and using regularly 109/TXL bus. I was really surprised intially how small it was for a capital airport, but for me its what make TXL a unique and special airport
Even though I was living in Berlin only for 6 months, TXL definitely will always be on my memory

Echt traurig, habe jahrelang im Vorfeld dort gearbeitet, es war wie mein Wohnzimmer dort 😢
Vielen Dank für's anschauen und ja, ich denke, es geht vielen so, egal ob auf dem Vorfeld, im Flugzeug oder in den Terminals.
Das sind eindrucksvolle Bilder, noch im August 2020 bin ich vom TXL gestartet 🛫 und auch wieder gelandet 🛬 Das ist ein bisschen traurig 😢 anzusehen, was aus Tegel geworden ist, kenne ich noch ganz anders.
Danke für's anschauen. Unser letzter Flug war am 7. November 2020 und wir konnten am 8. November beim Air France Flug auf dem Vorfeld sein, das verbindet für immer.
So ein tolles Video, so viele Erinnerungen kommen hoch. Selber dort rum zu laufen funktioniert ja sicher nicht ?
Danke sehr. Es ist noch immer möglich eine Tour dieses Jahr zu buchen, auch dort innerhalb der Gruppe kann man dann noch relativ gut sich bewegen, ohne dass es zu eingeengt ist, aber die grundsätzliche Route kann nicht verlassen werden.
Berlin WAR mal schön....
TXL war auch schön, denn wenn erstmal irgendwann alles zugebaut ist, wird man vom Gebäude auch nicht mehr viel sehen können, so wie jetzt auf dem freien Flugfeld.

Berlin TXL is under transformation for a technology park but also for housing for example. Right now the airfield is used a temporary refugee camp.
