Well I'm not thrilled when I here these boys play it so great I don't know what to do I dance Hollar jump up and down and I start playing air instruments guys you Already play for the best that means something to me I think it's because you are the best in my book keep it up Russ
Running all round the Shilo dude ranch in 62, i popped up back stage, and this mesmorizing sound, i sqeezed in the circle, there was lester n Earl, Sonny n Bobby, Jim n Jesse and Jimmy Martin. He patted my head . i was 6. I played banjo 15 years till the day Ralph died. I hung it up. I just wasn't doing the sacred mountain instrument justice. Long live the King.
Placing the camera closest to the guitar is best since it's so difficult to pick up from any distance and every other instrument is louder it drowns it.. this was great!
Guys, this HAS TO BE the top of the line in a bluegrass playing; Enjoyed it way over what I have heard and seen over a loooonngg period of time! Thank you more than I can say. Where are you guys all from? Wow!! It’s something else…thank you!!!
This was really enjoyable. Some great playing there. A+ all around. Was really impressed with Josh's Guitar solo, a 100% bluegrass sound , His style is very different than other bluegrass guitar players I've heard. He plays the solo and rings out the chords in between. Very full sound.
I played In a small guitar competition a long time ago in Washington. I was just getting Into bluegrass pickin. I got second against a very young and shredding Nick Dumas who won. Cool to see him at the top of the bluegrass world.
To say that rendition was excellent would be an understatement... I could listen to this over and over and most likely will, you can’t play this just once..
Looks like a helluva time, Russ! You need to put 'bass man' in his place lol! I just saw you on the Daily Diddle with Patrick, that was also pretty awesome as well!
One of my favorite Bluegrass songs of all time, and this is hands down the best version I have ever heard. Y'all played it better than Lester and Earl! Outstanding job by all of you, the out-takes were great too! Keep on a pick'n and a grinnin!
All these guys are good musicians but I've always favored the banjo and I have to say the banjo player is very talented. As is all the musicians. Great picking guys.
Man this is bluegrass GOLD! What a lineup of talent.
I've watched this 23 times and still going! Absolutely the best
I was born with bluegrass in my blood. Listening to this just thrills me to no end.
Same here. Gives me chills when it is this good.

I'm a trance guy and its similar in sound design just with instruments :-)
I’m. too
That guitar break earned a thumbs up from me👍👍
That Russ Carson is one heck of a good banjo picker.
None of these guys overplay at all. Every solo is so tasteful and well done, you could pretty much treat it as a tune of its own.
Amen brother hit the nail on the head 🙏
Love the guitar solo too...he gets a lot of just 6 strings. But this whole group is just so talented.
Thats a beautiful voice that guy has
This music needs to be on a CD.
WOW... can you imagine spending Christmas with this family and friends....
That singer reminds me of Dr. Ralph Stanley , what a voice they should be producing and touring ,what a bluegrass band , God bless them
Great banjo playing very good musicians.
I remember playing this song with my dad when I was a kid.
That professional playing at its best. Really enjoyed the solos by Michael, Nick, Russ and Josh Williams on guitar really smoked it.
TheJimmy yip! Love it.
Watched this dozens of times, but really noticing this time Josh Williams' hard drivin rhythm guitar playing. Just awesome.
that tenor man could drag a chill bump up on a wooden leg.. Reminds me of that cat that sang for Seldom scene back in the day.. Very strong band
Tenor?
Larry Stephenson.
That would been the amazing John Duffy....gone but not forgotten
@@bigdaddy3919 The amazing John Duffy indeed! Thanks..
Watching the outtakes at the end gives a new look at everyone’s excitement at the start. Good playing guys!!
He you.... That is truly symphony...
These videos are making my face hurt from grinning wow!
I loved the laugh session at the end. Brought back such good memories of growing up in a family of musicians... music makes you goofy!

Wow, one of the best performances I have seen on UA-cam! Excellent quality and everyone does great!
great ! Special !

I was near tears when the bassist kept playing in the wrong key and on the 3rd time josh said "ahh now youre just doin it on purpose" 😂😂😂😂
GE.ni.al. Muito bom.

All these guys are good musicians but I've always favored the banjo and I have to say the banjo player is very talented. As is all the musicians. Great picking guys.
yo russ the prucha sounds killer
2:51 best part of the video
singer sounds a lot like Bobby Osborne
Even looks like him a little bit
That’s Larry Stevenson, been around a longtime. Sings high lead like Sonny Osborne.
@@dmjink That would be Bobby :)
My first thought too.
That’s what i was just going to say
It would be nice to jam with these guys !
