No but, these three albums are the birth of modern kpop
the way you are so right
yesss 🥰
So true 4walls, red light and pink tape are legendary
real
4 Walls was *the song* that introduced the house sound into the mainstream kpop sphere, 4 Walls and Shinee's View that is. Absolutely legendary :)
I miss that era. SM needs to work with LNDNOISE again..
we need this sound back in kpop
@@milkflavored SM still work with them all the time!
The live stages for 4walls are insane, the choreo is so good! Except there's this like one stage where they zoom in on the members blank faces in the intro and it's really uncomfortable but they're still hot, so it's okay lol
All Mine is also really cute! It's a sm station technically, but it's their last Korean release!
Up !! That stage performances was lit
The way these 3 albums were responsible in changing the way KPop was to what is is now is otherwordly. There is literally a 'KPop before Pink Tape' and a 'KPop after 4 Walls'. This period of 2013~2015 shifted girlgroups and even some boygroups so heavily. You may even think that it was a 'generational thing' changing the spotlight from 2nd to 3rd gen, but when you pay close attention, it was a 'f(x) thing'. They were responsible for such a revolution in visual concepts and musical production for girlgroups. Their unique and alternative style shined so bright it was impossible for the new groups not to try and follow it. All the visuals for these 3 eras were precisely thought and executed by the great mind of Min Heejin. Just so you know, the 'Pink Tape' album is made in the format of an actual VHS tape (not the album itself, I mean the construction of the physical edition with the CD and photos). And the musical production of the albums is just God Tier. I won't say weak, because there isn't a single weak song on this album, but RPPP is the least strong song in Pìnk Tape (in my opinion). All of those 3 albums have their own sound that you can grasp on within each concept and it is completely amazing how no other group in the history of this genre were able to do things like f(x) (maybe Red Velvet is the one that comes closest). They'll forever be missed but their legacy will live on for a very long time.
F(X) really had an EFFECT on kpop huh 🤡
I'll see myself out 🚪🤸
I’ve always felt guilty that I prefer both 4walls and Red Lights albums over Pink Tape but they’re all so good.
@@ubiquitous_star584 no worry I like the Red lights album more that the pink tape. 😅
Still all 3 are soo good but yk it's still my fav
@@ubiquitous_star584 Try being the one that prefers the Electric Shock mini to all the other 3. Although I think it's like cuz I like every single song there (by virtue of being a mini). I do like at least 7/8ths of the other albums tho HAHAH
Pink Tape, Red Light & 4 Walls are THE HOLY TRINITY albums ♡
i always remember how polarising red light was with the fans 😭 but i always loved it
Rum Pum Pum Pum caught everyone off guard because it was so different from their previous titles. Red Light DEFINED noise music, LITERALLY MOTHER. And 4 Walls hopped on the mid 2010's Kpop house trend and made it their own. The b-sides on all the albums are also just as unique, there were always debates about "which song REALLY should've been the title track" (even the members thought Airplane from Pink Tape would be the title track). f(x)'s run was definitely cut short and the group and MeUs deserved so much better (never got a lightstick), but they left a legacy to listen to forever.
PS Since Lee Soo Man produced So What, LOONA and f(x) are half siblings with amazing discographies.
4 walls is absolutely one of the best of all time.
4 walls still a classic to this day!!
Love that you mentioned Shinee because they're basically like sibling groups. They were the groups in SM that had more of those quirky sounds, and only other group who's gone that road for me seems to be Red Velvet with their Red side. 4 Walls and View were the THING back when they were released! ^^
4 walls was a life changing era 😩
Red Light during their first and ever concert (SM, I have words...) is incredible! It's more of a rock version, and Luna's vocals during her solo part... Phew!
I'm so excited that you're giving f(x) time! They're different for sure! When I got into them originally, I just absorbed all music lol.
Thank you!
Rum pum pum and the whole pink tape album is one of my favourite kpop album, all the songs go so hard I think you would love it!!
In many ways, f(x) was the pinnacle of K-pop in terms of music. The waves they created are still being felt today, especially in groups like Billlie and GWSN.
ayyyy the Brazil shout-out cmonnn 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 f(x) was the first group I ever stanned and it's still my favorite and that Brazilian flair on the RPPP production was the reason I got into them, it was a gag for me cuz it's soooo on point and was such an unexpected thing for me to see a Brazilian influence on a kpop song at that time lol!!!
this react makes me so happy, they truly will forever hold such a special place in my heart 💜💜💜💜💜
É sobre isso
I remember H&M basingstoke playing 4walls and I lost my complete shit. I had never heard kpop played in any UK store before and everyone was boping along I felt so proud for no reason haha.
The 4 Walls album still gets me up out of my seat. The songs feel so fresh and nostalgic at the same time.. Not as experimental as their previous stuff but it's just so clean and it HITS.
glad you finally got to the GOOD good stuff omg
The instrumental on 4walls is really crazy, love to use it for mashups
Four walls was a culture reset, I'm excited for this!
these three comebacks and their corresponding albums quite literally changed the kpop industry forever
There is another more MV from f(x), It's "All Mine" MV. It's the SM station and the last f(x) MV as group. Amber directed the MV. Probably you would like to check it out before end the f(x) journey. And don't forget to check out their B sides. If you see Billboard list of kpop album of decade and kpop B side of decade, the number 1 is all f(x) 😘
Rum Pum Pum Pum’s bass line, especially at the start, makes me think of The Breeder’s Cannonball.
What I love most about Red Light is how it builds up all the layers at the end, without sounding too noisy and overwhelming.
you deserve so much respect for reacting to f (x) a truly unique hidden gem of kpop to many
RPPP is the first f(x) song (and possibly kpop song) I ever heard. I was instantly hooked. Gagnam Style was going viral but I didn't listen to it until after I heard both this and a Star-Trek themed parody of it called Klingon Style.
its called "pandeiro" the brazilian drum, kiss from recife pernambuco brasil fifi
4 walls was released at 2015 where sm is releasing a lot of house genres (Taeyeon's Why Album, shinee's view) and i love all of those.
also the red light album would be what i suggest to react to if you do another fx reaction after this week - it’s so good very rnb
Their concept were years ahead and most people not ready with it
4 walls not having any choreo in the video was really cool back then, we didn’t see until the performances!!
Also you should really check out the Pink Tape Art Film- an iconic album teaser!
Pretty sure 4 walls and view almost swapped between shinee and f(x) respectively too! But they really found their homes in the right groups 🥰🥰
Yesss I’ve been waiting all day for this let’s goooo!! Rum Pum Pum is my absolute fave fx title track esp bcos of the choreo i just love it so much!!! And 4 walls is one of their best songs period & also one of the best kpop songs ever!!
Fifi you’re reaction as soon as 4 walls started was everything lol i honestly enjoyed watching you vibe to it and genuinely enjoying every second of it cos that was me when i first heard it 4 walls is just perfection!!
rum pum pum pum was one of the first kpop songs i've ever heard, truly a song that paved the way for a entire new generation together with red light.
both of these albums are also top tier probably the best ones to ever come out of kpop.
4 walls is a song and album that's very bittersweet to me, it's also just as incredible as pink tape and red light but the fact it was also their last one when there was so much more they could've done as a group always makes me sad 🥲
f(x)... I miss them so much 😭😭 I never forget how SM neglected them
4WALLS KPOP PERFECTION
kpop + house is my favorite combination.
4 Walls by f(x)
Free Somebody by Luna
View by SHINee
Sunset by KNK
Teardrop, Now or Never by SF9
8:03 the reaction we were alll waiting for from fifi AHAAA😂
Edit: would loveee for you to react to the RED LIGHT album
Another edit: the live choreo for 4 walls is fireeee tooo
They own experimental music idc! Sm (same as yg and cube and pledis) really dropped a ball and went on with aespa which really disappointed a lot of us.
Can't wait for you to check out glam, tiny g, and brown eyed girls whenever you feel like it.🤎😊
Also you might enjoy the original 4 walls.
4 walls is so good and it’s still one of my favs in all time, and the performance it’s so good, specially the choreo
4 walls is such a bop even today but i feel like listening it to the first time in 2022 will just never be the same as listening to it when it first dropped cos the house and edm sound has just been done over and over again in kpop since then but back in 2015 4 walls (and view) just felt so fresh and new compared to everything else in kpop at the time
thanks for the reaction it was great!!!! excited for the other f(x) vids :)
I'm a big EDM head, so I loved "Red Light" on first listen naturally. My first f(x), favorite f(x), and my top Kpop song of all time...Reminds me of the first time I head Stray Kid's "Side Effects", which I was totally blown away by. Who knew Kpop could hit so hard lol? I adore those 2 songs so much...
And it goes without Saying, "4 Walls" is a masterpiece. I didn't want to overhype it, as everyone else already did lol, but your reaction is what I expected, haha. That song is so up your alley...
I prefer their material before that album, but make no mistake, 4 Walls and that album is still a 10/10. Probably had my favorite Amber verse too. Great reaction, the best batch of title tracks too!
Soooo happy to see your reaction to these!! I remember buying the Pink Tape and Red Light albums when they came out and to this day they hold themselves as one of the most cohesive and conceptual albums in the whole kpop genre!
Lol first time I listened to Red Light I was like wtf?? And then it not only grew on me, but became one of my fav kpop songs ever.
You should check out fromis9’s cover it’s really great.
Love your reactions always. And to this one, i love how u appreciate f(x) musicality. 💯💓
When Red Light was released, I wanted to go blonde so bad because Krystal looked so good blonde 🤩 Sulli looks so good in black as well 🥺
the funniest part about 4 Walls and Red Light is that netizens complained about RL going “too hard”, so F(x) switched it up with 4W, and netizens complained that it was “too experimental”
Red Light is also Zimzalabim’s older sister
check these three albums, masterpieces
RUM PUM PUM >>>>>>>>>
ITS SO GOOD AND ADDICTING TO HEAR
I'm a bit late to this and I tried looking through the comments to see if someone else mentioned it but didn't find anything. I'm pretty sure Red Light was a critique on the Sewol Ferry tragedy. And even includes quotes as lines that a crewmember said or something like that. I watched a video talking about it but that was at least a few years ago and I don't remember exactly.
also, the fact that you reacted to all 3 of these songs in one video!! too much! so good!! These are definitely my favorite f(x) title tracks and mvs!
Ahhh Red Light... I Got A Boy, Zimzalabim, and Next Level's sister
Yeah 4 walls had me f-ed up, I LOVED that, and I loved the demo too I just loved everything about that song.
How I wish f(x) got the recognition they deserve. They're even better than most of the current groups.
Aaaah thankyouuu
that one eyed makeup look was such a moment i need more idols to do it, red lights bridge is one of my favs
rumpumpum and red lights are my two fave F(x) title tracks
When you get the chance, you should check out the original "4 Walls" demo. It's a different vibe compared to f(x)'s version but it's just as good and probably could have been released without any changes. Plus, the chorus gets stuck in your end("got me in the friend zone").
I knew you were going to love 4 walls it's an amazing song, thanks for reacting to f(x)'s mv, I look forward to your reactions to his discography.💜
I've been waiting for this video the whole day, thank you, can't wait till tomorrow!!
Thakyou for your reaction ❤
16:54 girl how did you so effortlessly hit that ...
4 walls blew me away when it came out, and I was excited to see their next comeback............................yeah.........
Thank you so much for catching the Brazilian influence in RPP, I was so proud the first time I heard it
Yeah...my favorites songs are Rum Pum Pum and 4 Walls! I love them so much...they are still in my playlist forever hahaha
Thanks for the throwback 💕 I still remember watching the MV for four walls right before school. I was so happy 😭
I genuinely think that f(x) were the experimental group that really kicked off the change in girl groups
You should listen to 4Walls demo. I'm sure that's right up your alley.
there're actually one more mv/song of f(x) you haven't react to so i suggest you to react f(x) "All Mine" mv
All mine kinda served the same vibe as 4 walls but a little bit different i don't know how to explain it but what i can say it is so good and one of my favorite f(x)'s song ever
Brazil loves you 😚💜
f(x)’s bside tracks are one of the best songs in kpop
MV f(x) chocolate love and all mine
Oh 4walls album is incredible!! hope you like it
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSSSS. 4 WALLS IS THIS SHIT. ONLY IF SM DIDNT ABUSE AND ABANDONED FX THEY WOUDLVE BE THE SHIIIIIIT
YESSSSSS MEU’S RISEEEEEE 🌟🌟🌟
I've seen a react from a "specialists" channel and they didn't notice the brazilian beats in this, and you did. I feel glad as a brazilian 😍. I can see you're a real music lover and it's amazing! You really get hyped with every detail.
RIP sulli we love you ❤
Another amazing reaction, so glad you're enjoying the group a lot, i don't agree with starting with the 4walls album though because I feel like starting the album marathon from their earlier stuff would be better because you'd get the evolution of their sound better. I think it would be a much more immersive experience
If 4 walls is your favorite I would suggest Luna's solo Free Somebody EP. Highly underrated. Has a lot cool house, electronic and R&B. Came out around the time where SM was putting out a lot of edm/electronic/house inspired music which one of my favorite eras.
As a huge fan of both f(x) and Red Velvet, you can tell that certain songs on RV’s first couple albums were originally f(x) songs actually (similar to BlackPink and 2NE1)
F(Xà has always be ahead of the time
The Brazillian drumming is inspired by Samba! Rum Pum Pum Pum is def an amazing song
4:20 Brazilian here ahahaha I always think of samba when I listen to Rum pum pum pum ALWAYS. And I love. Also Red light must be my favorite title track of them. 4walls also is so amazing to me
The stages for Red Light are insane, same with 4walls. For me 4walls has this sort of bittersweet, nostalgic vibe, but maybe bc this type of house sometimes just bores me hdhxhdbcjdb. Rum Pum Pum though, EXCELLENT song, I remember blasting it all the time when it came out :D
Excited for the 4walls album 1st listen!
Rumpumpumpum is my fav title track and i remember how it gets so much hate when it first released (but did so well on charts) like people would attack me on twitter if i say I like it😅 funny thing about fx songs that they don’t sound weird and new like they did before and I think that say a lot. 4walls is also one of my fav titles and the live stages for it are so good❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 their outfits, style, choreo everything was so classy, something you would never see at that era that why they only get appreciated lately. enjoyed your reaction as always 🥰💕
4 WALLS!!
THE SONG THAT INTRODUCED ME TO THEMMM 😭💜
You gotta check out their Pink Tape album because it is objectively considered one of essential and finest kpop album of all time. Of. All. Time.
I never skip 4walls when it comes on. Banger!
gosh I miss them!!
oooh i’ve been waiting for this one
Shadow by f(x) sooooo gooodd ! ❤️
Let's goooo!! ♡
i had a feeling rum pum pum would be your favorite!!! 😄😄 4 walls is one of the only songs in the house genre i really really like! red light is a song i never truly visited often but listening to it with you during the video has it REALLY growing on me; i never realized how hard those instrumentals hit in the chorus?????
I'll always feel that the world wasn't ready for their sound back then.
I am no longer talking... 🤯🐍♡
After f(x) released 4 walls the trend for the same type of song occurred in kpop we love a trendsetter queens!
I hope you can squeeze in luna's solo free somebody out of all the fx solos the impact the music the styling luna it's so worth it and she was sm for that too
Fx week is pre recorded no requests or suggestions pls as stated on my schedule :)
Once you listen to f(x) you can't help but hear that style in some of Red Velvet's songs.
4 walls is a vibe!!!
I feel like 4 walls was the start of SM incorporating similar type of sound for other sm groups like red velvet and shinee in particular.
While I like Rum Pum Pum a lot with the hypnotic percussion and guitar, I would give just a slight edge to Red Light for the disturbing freak out element mixed with the beautiful harmonies and vocal melody and the thickly layered overdubbed instrumentation and talking type vocals. I also like Four Walls, but I like the experimental side of f(x) the most and or when Sullli was still in the group.
4 walls the best🎉
