Love the video! I am a sucker for history videos :) I am wondering though if/when did we start to see a change from wooden to metal front axels? Did the change come from a safety concern or did it have something to do with durability?
Metal axles where pretty standard right away. That Brush I showed was really an exception to the norm. When I see a car with that varnished wood axle, right away I think 'Oh ya, that's a Brush'

Those speedsters would have been a bit scary to drive at high speed in my opinion.
