With lots of respects and as a fan of Mataji...🙏🏼🙏🏼...my humble observations -
The hard problem of consciousness has to do with the nature of experience and also what it means to be conscious...what *is* (self-)awareness...and secondarily, why is there consciousness.
Brahman behind the senses answers more of the why question - why/how are my (jaḍa/जड़) senses aware at all? Because of Brahman, say the Upanishads.
Not what _is_ consciousness. Cit is just is. That is the svarūpa of Brahman. Upanishads dont tell you what this Cit is...Brahman just IS as Sat and Cit. And the Cit does not have an object. It just is "pure consciousness." I do not think language can convey to us what that means...
Also - if a profound question is posed in the first verse and its answer is provided in the second verse, that is more of a declaration - than a process of enquiry. Of course, arrived at by the Rishi's inquiry, but here it is stated as fact. "The awareness factor behind your senses is Brahman."
The Buddhists also ask and answer about consciousness but it is related to each sense...so object + eye + manas will lead to cakkhu-viññāna etc...

Although you are explaining it so well and trying to make it easy, my grasping is so poor that I can't understand it fully. Unfortunately I do not have that intelligence to understand the thoughts so deep, I am feeling sad and sorry.
I didn't understand when I listened first time but now after more than 2 years of trying to understand the Upanishads, I have finally started to a grasp little. Don't loose hope, keep trying
Yes, please don’t lose hope. I have found comfort in the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita for 20 years and now with the help of teachers like Mataji my understanding is growing. Mataji also emphasizes daily sadhana, meditation to purify the mind, it’s so important 🌺
Every nation has a national purpose of its own Either in the obedience to the law of nature 'or by virtue of the superior genius of the great ones 'the social manners and customs of every nation are being moulded into shape so as to bring that purpose and those manners and customs that are essentially necessary to effect that purpose all others are superfluous It does not matter much whether those superfluous customs and manners grow and disappear but a nation is sure to die when the main purpose of its life is hurt

These are concepts of confusion, Humans have to live in society build families and support their families by earning a living, leave these confusions for the philosophical groups of people who have nothing to do but confuse man and explain things which need very little explanation. You guys take a small concept and stretch it a mile long pure wasting preciouses time, rather best to go serve the needy and help those in need in daily life and India needs that, not this beating around the bush concepts that is a small part of our lives. You guys have devoted your entire lives to understand simple concepts and create mile long explanations. I just listened to Swami Sarapriyananda give a one and half hour lecture explaining the human flesh and apart from that we the consciousness. I can explain this in 5 minutes and not waste peoples time. God is not concerned with these details but so you just get the concept. The rest is your livelihood, your actions and that towards others and obedience to God. This is why most all Hindus do not indulge in trying to understand the details, is because of this mile long explanations of simple concepts and over that its repeated like50 times in a row. I find it very boring. The best way to enjoy these lectures are if you smoke some weed , and this is why we have a number of European devotees that enjoy this and almost all of them are doing some sort of nasha.
