- For one week, aspiring lawyers gather for the annual African Human Rights Moot Court Competition.
Competitors represent the top law schools from their respective nations as they debate a new issue each year.
In Gaborone, Botswana, the focus is on the rights of refugees. Arguments are judged by practising lawyers.
The competition for African Moot is fierce as the rising stars learn what it means to fight for their cause, country and continent.

Kenya is great
Team +254 & +256 made us proud. Congrats, East Africa is proud.
My beautiful sister Daniella Kagina..our grandma must be smiling in heaven.Shine on our Baby❤️❤️.
Amor and Rachel you did us proud! Congratulations team Kenya and everyone who participated! A special mention to you AMOR, keep shining 🌟, onwards and upwards!
The girl from Makerere University is quite composed...she sounds like she is there already..
Best of wishes to all the contestants around the globe
I love how Amore questioned the outcome and knew undoubtedly that she was the best!❤ I don’t believe there was just a “mishap”. How could they make such a mistake and rob the young lady of experiencing the feeling of winning among her peers?
University of Nairobi, KENYA is outstanding as always
umeamua usimame na kenya ju hakuna woria hapo🤣
@kings man bro that was unnecessary!
@@kingsman7965 unnecessary I have Somali workmates..they are Somali first before Kenyan same way I'm a kisii first before kenyan
@@kingsman7965 who are you though?
@@kingsman7965 are you normal?
I really want to applaud Amor she is so courageous and kind and hardworking may she get more wins in future
Oh wow. It's so interesting watching this. I was one of the volunteers of this moot court. It's amazing to know that we have all graduated and I enjoyed meeting students from different parts of Africa. Watching this is giving me such nostalgia 😍
Team🇰🇪 Amor and Rachel we are so proud of you but more so on Amor who was courageous enough to go for what she deserved and being kind to her partner
she went behind her teammates back, she could have done it an a less cold way
@@stealthman-vy4oh I think she did that because of the nature of the competition owing to the competitive nature of it and how prestigious it was for Rachel to have thought she'd won. I'm sure she'd have thought Amor is jealous.. I'm glad she did what she did most would shy away
@@faithkerubo5621 yes but Rachel was her teammate...not an opponent....at least inform her about the plan before hand or at least ask what score she got to see how it is...seems like a red flag to me tbh
I am not in the law field but I felt inspired by this documentary as a student or ordinary citizen. My heart goes to the oppressed because I was one in some form. I hope that the refugees achieve their human rights. Great docu, Alja! 🇵🇭
Daniella is an all around human being, beautiful on the inside and outside, smart and kind. The sky is the limit for this lady❤

I loved the comment that, most African youths now are educated and have grown up in good environments free from colonialism….I hope we shake off the colonialism tag and develop our countries. Wherever you go, always remember your home will always be Africa. Much love from 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Best comment!
Team kenya did great. I liked the composure of the Ugandan team , it brought out a form of mystery to the opponents. All in all They all came out winners .
I envious of all of you. I wish all africa eas like Botswana. You didn't waist your existence and still believe in change and hope.I not old but I Don't see a peacefully way of solving issues where blood as been shed. I hope you are able to do prove the value of reason and companion in you endeavours in the betterment of this sick world.
A human centered documentary! Insightful and informative. All the students did great job. What’s more important is the human connections they have built around ideas, opinions and desire to use a humanistic lens to make our world just, and equitable for refugees.
Thank you for this amazing documentary! It was beautiful to see. I look forward to more!

African smiles are the finest ... oh the joy I feel
These moots bring out the best of lawyers everywhere
Daniella very calm and collected.
What just happened? A swap name who got the award between Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines.✌️
Congratulations 💐🇵🇭🇰🇪
Love to all Pan-africanists from Norway!
The headline says mock court instead of moot court, it’s kinda insulting!
that demonstrate the power of education
Awesome
Finally a documentary about mooting
I'm stuck here. I feel the worth of being Represented
Reminds me of debate clubs in Primary school❣😊
That was really good
🧡
I find it strange and concerning they would make such an error like that! Swap names? Reallly =-=. Good on Amore for speaking out.
proud Alumni of makerere university
I am a proud makerere university alumni.
Africa's future leader
Wow team uganda so composed 🇺🇬
Great documentary🤌🏻
Thanks for your comment! 🧡
Team East Africa 🥰🥰
❤️❤️❤️
My personal opinion is that Technically the Ugandan Team Won but Narratively the Kenyan Team Won (Had to Win). There's no way an anti-refugee argument will ever win in this kind of setting. The Ugandan lady should hold her head up. A Truly fierce lawyer.
انا اعملي في حكوك النسم في كل علم

Je travia pour les droits de sle shomme sen Afrique

Now please go and be the best to lead your continent. You are great people despite what they have done to you.
University of Malawi 🇲🇼
lol, some bit of kenyan drama at the finish. but alls well that ends well
That Ugandan girl has too much altitude, She needs to face her fears without putting in so much feelings. Congratulations Team Uganda
Daniella is so beautiful, African princess
Moot courts are something else
university of Nairobi is doing something different
I'm glad society is grooming the youth to keep up the current systems to be up to world standards. I so wish kids weren't taught to beat themselves up for not being the best. Sometimes you are being groomed for failure.
University of Pretoria no 2 🎉🎉
i am jealous
What causes refuguees?
the respondents should have won.
True. They were highly eloquent, focused to the point, and utilized a sophisticated legal language.
