You made a good point about Geno not getting mentions for NFC player of the week. There's a real narrative that Geno Smith has not developed since his time in NY and it's mind boggling. He had this game with no Rushing attack and behind the 31st rated pass pro . If this line can just be a 15th ranked OL Geno will be a top 5 hell top 3 QB with this cast.

Connor Williams will get closer to form and if Walker can just stay healthy thatll improve the pass protection, as, if the defense doesnt have to dedicate the defense to stopping the run, they can rush the QB far more. The pass protection was not good week 1. But clearly much of the terriible offense im that firdt half was predicated on being backed up in their own end zone. Even at its current mediocrity, the Hawks line wont be this bad all season. And good news is... it likely womt be this patchwork. Williams gettingnback to form WILL HELP BIG TIME. And ya have to believe Lucas MUST be comimg back soon otherwise hed be on the IR. The new offense at the very least, has made it possible for Geno, even in a broken pass protection, to have options to get rid of the ball and not merely be a human target, alloeing him to stay poised unlike last year where he was not comfortable w a broken pocket, he feared his blimdside before the pockets even broken down. He has the ability to escape or find the dump off where last year he was immediately panicked. No reason to think the line wont improve... despite Joshuas piss poor parallel to the Mariners(see Joshy, the Ms offense is flat out anemic, playing in a ballpark that does offenses without true star sluggers no favors. The Hawks Oline on paper IS better than this. Even under the injury bug. And thus it will get better. Especially since they likely will get Lucas back. And Williams will gel more, both with his teamates and within his own abilities. Youre talking about an Ms offense which, best case scenario would be like 230-240 vs an ability to improve and increase the viability under a new system w players that will be returning. Football 101 is HARD... For some)

It was a HORRIBLE DECISION to throw the ball instead of handing it to Marshawn!! BUT... they still ROBBED US!! Is it possible that sprint concept play was designed to switch direction like it did, to open up the easy pass? It almost looks like it was with how the timing worked out between Geno and Lockett.

On that side flip pass to DK we had Charb wide open in the opposite flat. That would’ve been nice. Hard to see when you get flushed out but I bet they’ll recognize that’s there going forward.
