- Plot:
On October 8th, 1952, a Tring-to-Euston stopping train arrived at the station to pick up and drop off passengers while approximately 7 minutes late due to fog. Meanwhile, two other trains were late as well: a Perth-bound train hauled by a steam locomotive no. 46242 "City of Glasgow," an ex-LMS (London, Midland & Scottish Railway) Princess Coronation class, and a Liverpool-bound train hauled by two ex-LMS locomotives: a Jubilee class no. 45637 "Windward Islands," and a Princess Royal class no. 46202 "Princess Anne.". This is the moment that sets the scene for destruction. The Perth train passed a yellow signal and two red signals for unknown reasons and crashed in the back of a stopping train. It destroyed three rear coaches, then laid on the line where the Liverpool train was about to come in, and finally the Liverpool train struck the Perth locomotive. Caused the Liverpool train to deflect to the left side of the station.
In this video, I recreated the events that led to Britain's 2nd worst rail disaster at Harrow and Wealdstone station. There are some inaccuracies in this video: First, the location I film came from a built-in route called "Rosworth Vales SP2" because I don't have a Harrow and Wealdstone route, so I decided to choose the Rosworth route for filming since it has the closest station. Second, it was the tank engine that hauls the local train. The locomotive I used for this video was an LNER J72, but in real life, the locomotive that was involved in this disaster was an LMS Fowler 2-6-4T tank. I used to have a model of it, but then I realised it was a payware model from a payware route, and downloading it for free isn't a good idea, so I decided to delete it and use the J72 model. And finally, the leading locomotive of the Liverpool train. The locomotive I used was a Black 5 loco, but in real life, it was a Jubilee loco. It's because I don't have a model of it in trainz. This video here is NOT intended to be set to be monetized, but UA-cam won't turn it off unfortunately.

And thanks for watching this video.
Nice recreation about Harrow and Wealdstone rail accident and it was truly based on the 1952 train disaster.
Nice video, Gresley! Geo, maybe you and him should do a collaboration!
@@AgentCelestia2 maybe one day we will do that.
All we’re missing is fog. Again.
this needs narration to explain whats happening. As someone not knowing a thing about this i want to understand but i need that context :)
I'll mentioned that in the description.
@@gresleyng-thebritishrailwayfan ok, great. In the last 10 videos you watched how many of those did you read the whole description of? Nuff said

Nice!
Britain's worst peacetime and England's worst rail disaster of all time. 122 people lost their lives that day. It is unknown why 46242 _City of Glasgow's_ driver ran through two danger signals and only applied the emergency brake at the last moment.
46202 _Princess Anne,_ the train engine on the double-headed London to Manchester and Liverpool express, was a unique locomotive. Its number was set aside from the other Princess Class locomotives and was applied to this experimental turbine design. While 6202 was somewhat successful, it was considered to be no more efficient than a standard LMS express passenger locomotive. Therefore, the decision was made to have it rebuilt as another unique locomotive: a Princess / Coronation (aka Duchess) hybrid. The rebuilt 46202 was less than two months old on the day of the disaster and was sadly written off.
46202's demise led to the building of yet another unique locomotive: British Railways' Class 8 4-6-2 no. 71000 _Duke of Gloucester._ The British Railways Board had been debating whether or not the design of this class was necessary, but the Harrow disaster forced its hand.
112 not 122.
@@gresleyng-thebritishrailwayfan Thanks.
