Also 'would' is used to express future in past, in sentences like: I thought that he would come, but he didn't come. It has the same meaning with: I thought: "He will come", but he didn't come.

Hi guys, I am a beginner in english like you. In this case I have a doubt about the use of WOULD. I didnt know WOULD was used to express ideas in the way as shown in the video. I used instead of WOULD, expression like LIKED TO, LOVED TO, USED TO to express things that I liked to do (in the past), for example: When I was a child, I USED TO play piano. When I was a child, I LIKED TO play piano. But I have seen this video and now I am a little confused. Is the use of WOULD shown in this video true? Would someone explain me, please?

I am not an expert. In my opinion these two sentences have the same meaning.
'When I was a child, I used to play piano' =' When I was a child, I would play piano'
When you used to I think that it was something you done in the past not all the time, but when you would you done the thing a lot. I don't know explain exactly I guess.
When you use would it is something that you were available to do and I use to , it is something that you do it often

hello Vanessa mam, instead of "would" we can also use "used to" isn't it?
I guess she's not gonna respond you. You can`t use "used to" because it`s not supposed to be applied regularly. "used to" suppose that you did something in the past and later you give it up.
"Would" in that order means you was doing something regularly (and you can do it whenever you want).
