As some people have pointed out correctly, I miscommunicated my comment about the Schlieffen Plan during the video. The plan itself was referring to the whole offensive, I just focused in on a specific tactic used in the German strategy to break through allied lines.
Very grand video, however: A few notes: Disproportionate number of men to guns. The formations are far too deep. They'd be in open order and only about 2 ranks deep. Of course they'd follow up in waves, but it wouldn't be a blob like that. P.s. Schlieffen Plan was the early war strategy of attacking through Belgium, not stormtroopers infiltrating trenches. Also, the attacking side would always have more artillery as they would be doing a mass preliminary bombardment. I do like your point about sadness of playing this mod though. I can relate.
Good points, and yes I didn’t communicate that correctly about the Schlieffen plan, you’re correct to point that out! Unfortunately I’m limited to the size of the map as to how wide I can make the formation , but it was more to demonstrate the power of artillery and why conventional line warfare ended in ww1. Also this is a mod for Napoleon tw, so I agree the formations used for units are completely inaccurate. Thank you for your comment!
@realtomic no problem! I play this mod myself and when using the default formations it always ends up in a massacre by howitzer shells. So I ended up tweaking the infantry to be slightly smaller and only 2 ranks or so deep. And also you can edit the mod so the units can use an extended order ability which increases spacing. Nicely explained video anyway!
The only other change was to add funds to the campaign, as fielding more than one 100 unit army is difficult financially, the game isn’t designed to support it!
It was the last war that traditional cavalry was used. In ww2 the Russians used Cossacks to great effect, but not in the way shown in this video. How much I don’t know, but there were dedicated cavalry units, mostly used to exploit gaps in the line, and for scouting and reconnaissance.
@@realtomic thank you for teaching me. also the cossacks were more used by germans in ww2 to fight against the russians i think there were 2 cossack divisions in the wehrmacht is the spelling correct idk the cossacks were seen as long lost aryans and not slavs to germany i think yea
@@realtomicactually you can disable it in the same script file where you change the camera type to free camera movement. If you look further down that file there's a line where you can set camera shake to false.

Yes, Schlieffen plan was used in 1914 during the invasion of France & Belgium while Stormtroopers were only used in big numbers in 1916/1917
I was expecting this channel to have 100k subs, you definitely deserve more this content is great

Depends on the front of course, the nature of warfare in the east was better suited to open warfare than the western front of course.
@@yeyeman_guy wow I didn’t know that, thanks!
