Kenmore 70 Series - Full Cottons/Sturdy “Colors” Cycle

- Hello all, today’s video, and the first of the season, brings us to the machine that started it all, my 1986 Kenmore 70 Series! This cycle was requested by Gaming With Jaylen, who wanted to see a medium load of colors on the full 10 minutes “Color” cycle on the Cottons/Sturdy cycle. This is also the first video using the brown Straight Vane agitator, and I think it performed very well! As with every video, if there’s anything you want to request for future videos, feel free to leave them below, and I’ll do my best to get to every one I can. I hope you all enjoy!
Cycle Selections: Cottons/Sturdy - 10 minute “Colors” cycle - Warm/Warm
Detergent: Hex “Fresh and Clean” scent
I miss these washing machines. I still remember the washing machine the babysitter had when i was a little boy. Norg she bought at montgomery ward in 1976

These were some good old machines.
This agitator seems to work the best in this machine out of all the ones you have. Though, we will see how it’ll work on the higher water levels with larger loads.
I agree, for smaller loads it’s definitely very strong. I will for sure have to test it with some large loads. Since it’s meant for the 24 inch BD machines, it’ll be interesting to see how it does.

You can hear an electric hum when the water fills!!!
The water valve solenoids on this washer are still very strong
when you get a chance can you pull back the outer drive drum on video please?

I like that brown agitator. I must ask, just out of curiosity, where did you get it?
I got it from a user on the Automatic Washer forum. He was willing to ship it out to me for a very reasonable price.
That's awesome. I hope someday in the future, I'll have a washer that looks and sounds like that one with a brown agitator. Or even better, a washer resembling the 1976 Kenmore All American alphabet washer my grandparents had. By the way, I enjoy looking at the Automatic Washer forum.
I think just a tad more water would improve the turnover.
I agree. The one downside of this machine is it only has three water levels, so turning the dial to large would’ve been a full tub of water, which would’ve been way too much for this load.
seems like a long time from drain to spin geesh
These machines have a four minute drain cycle. It was increased to this time when they increased to size of the tubs.
