Chopta: This place is also called as the min Switzerland of India, its so beautiful. We spent one day and one night at Chopta. You will also get to see Bugyal in Uttarakhand.
Height of Chopta above sea level: 2680 meter.
Tungnath Temple: This is among the panch kedar of Uttarakhand.
Height above sea level: 3680 meter.
Distance from chopta base point: 4 km trek.
Names of Panch kedar temples: Kedarnath Dham, Madhya Maheshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, Kalpeshwar.

Chandrashila peak: 2 km trek from Tungnath temple, passage is high steep… can take 2 hours to walk down this 2 km trek

Hi Sir... I have been to chopta tungnath in March this year ... it was full of snow.. it was an experience for life ... I recommend to visit during that time also ... the path you took to the temple was completely covered by snow ... we did snow trek which made that journey more exciting and remembering..

best time to visit Chopta and Tungnath is Autumn and Fall winter. Nature gives you best sightings esp garwal Himalayan Ranges. Whenever I make journey to Uttarakhand my favorite time my prefered time is Autumn.

Next time when visiting such places use Nordic Trekking Poles. They help in walking, but most importantly they help you from tripping and falling. That is why the Europeans who are avid hikers on the mountains use them. I learnt the advantages from them and always use them.
