I never understood why people always complained about hummers. Yes they are not the best in fuel economy but people by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin... they get 10 miles to a gallon carrying a total of 2 people. I have an H2 and can carry 7 and tow my boat and get 15MPG.... so what the problem is?
People who own those cars likely don't drive them as much or are so rich and famous that nobody cares, its a double standard sure but its still wasteful

I have a nice h2 sut and I love it , don't drive it as much but I love just looking at it , my cuestion is how do you get 15mpg out of it ?? I only get like 10.8

Yeah they’re making an electric hummer now called the Hummer EV. Decent concept, since electric has a lot of torque, and hopefully the idiot environmentalists won’t be pissed again, so I could see the point of another attempt at the hummer, especially since electric vehicles are becoming more normal now. Only issue I have with it is that while an electric conversion will most likely be for the better, I’ll really miss the big rumbling gas engines they used in the old ones. It had that effect where like, if you heard it you knew it was a hummer before you saw it. That I’ll miss. But if hummers are going to have any chance of coming back I think GM made the right choice to make it electric.

Umberto Farias McLaren actually dates back before the F1, so this would be a great video. Bugatti is another they really need to do, because it’s not just Veyron and Chiron.
McLaren F1 really doesn't have anything to do with the car brand beyond the namesake and ownership, other then that they are completely autonomous
I used to work for HUMMER, a few notes:
The only difference from a humvee and a h1 was paint, they could tell the difference in the factory by "shiny" paint on the frames, the h1s got leather, a radio, and power windows.
H1 mpg was always going to be restricted by the 2:1 gear reduction hubs, so if you were doing 50 mph on the highway your drive train was going 100, without it they would've doubled the mpg but it would've ruined its off road ability
The h2 was a modified Tahoe and the h3 was a modified Colorado chassis, they never deserved all the hate.

My Dad has 06 H3, its old so something almost always needs to be replaced, but my dad doesnt take it into a shop me and him do it ourselves. Over the past three years, my dad and I, have put in new bushings, a new drive train, belts, spark plugs, oil filters, brakes, and things I cant name right now, im only 13 but now I know how to do all these for the rest of my life. I hope when im older I can give my dad a H1, with as much new parts as possible, these cars are the coolest. We go off roading through water, mud, snow up in the southern california big bear mountain. Its so fun, and im learning to drive in it, cant wait till its mine when I have my license.

Hummers arent even that bad for the environment besides the fuel mileage. It doesnt use exotic materials that need to be mined and brought in from all over the planet unlike some types of cars. The most environmentally friendly way to buy is a car is buy used. Destroying new cars is just a double hit on the environment.

Michael Miller 7 feet actually on tire width, or 84 inches the actually truck is 86.5 so not 8 more like 7 but yes, it is a sweet truck, just sold my h3 for a hmmwv.
And it only is 7.8-8.1 k pounds, military models come in about 5-6k pounds.
It all varies. I literally just looked at one that had a plate that said it weighed 11380lbs

I spent weeks at a time basically living in a UAH(Up Armored Humvee) in Iraq and it sucked. Forget about trying to talk to the left or right seat without screaming, the 0-45mph is like 5 minutes and aftef just an hour in the seats in full battle rattle your lower back is killing you, it be more comfortable marching. With that being said the thing is a beast, I drove it literally in the ocean during hurricane Gustav in Bay St Louis and Waveland, Mississippi when the storm surge was breaking 2 blocks from the beach. While driving we were chest deep in the Gulf of Mexico and every time a wave hit us it would lift the humvee and push us sideways but it didn't phase it one bit it just kept on trucking. But we were all very happy when most of our humvees got replaced with MRAPs, much safer, quieter, comfortable, more spacious and even quicker.
Hummer H1 could be horrible and I would STILL want one!! AND thanks to this video I now MUST HAVE ONE!!
Well it is in fact horrible so congrats I guess. The Humvee is undeniably a great military vehicle, but the Hummer's crap. Probs an unpopular opinion around here, but who cares.
Got 10k? You can get a used 25+yrold military surplus one (which at that age they are NHSTA legal), for 4-6K and put around another 4k restoring it to proper working order.
An h1 has got it's issues, a lot of them. Get a good mechanic, you are going to need one. (95 gasser owner)

For the record.... Curb weight on an H1 is ~8000lb with a GVWR ~10,000lb. H2 ~6600lb curb and ~8600lb GVWR. H3 ~4800lb curb and ~6000lb GVWR.
H1 is built on the HUMVEE platform with the original engine/driveline/suspension/etc.
H2 is built on a 3/4 ton GM truck platform. (though most people think it's on a 1/2 ton platform, it isn't).
H3 is built on a midsize ("1/4 ton") GM truck platform (Colorado/Canyon).
My grandfather used to produce the undercoating for Hummer.

Honestly 10 is a VERY flattering number. It was more like 6 or 7.
It had a small block v8 like you would find in a suburban... but weighed twice as much and had a lot more rolling resistance.

They're actually pretty good on gas considering they essentially had the one of the largest engines available in a production car since Cadillac dropped the 500 from the lineup.
I've met a couple guys that said they managed 18 on the highway.
Dorian Coltman mine used to get 24-26 running Amsoil, I sold it tho and now gunning for a hmmwv since we have a new eco car, u read that corectly, the hummer was a daily driver/ fuel saver.
And of course they want to bring the brand back to compete with jeep, but with EV's instead of gas guzzlers. Honestly if they can pull it off, I am totally down for an H1 thats electric.

CTIS is an option. If your M1151 doesn't have it, TACOM didn't order it.
I joined in 2012 and I have never seen a Humvee with a CTIS, infact didn't know that was a thing till now. I'm a wheeled vehicle mechanic btw seen all kinds of humvees and I almost feel like this doesn't even exist.
We never had CTIS system in the Marines. Only saw them on army vehicles.

i think it could be a good idea if they did that. It could potentially be a good 2020 Bronco competitor if they do everything just right. With fuel consumption, an engine that can accelerate it's weight well, lower the weight of the vehicle without making everything plastic.

Basically the Hummer owners went to the G wagon after the Hummer hype ended. They DID NOT care about the G wagon much before the Hummer. The Hummer was sort of the catalyst for them. You'd probably only get this joke if you lived in an area plagued by Hummers during its fad. THE FACT THAT G WAGON IS OLDER DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL. The sequence in question is the timeline of the fads, not the actually date and history of each car.

the G class was around for at least 20 yrs before the humvee
but the G class was millitary vehicle back in the 60's, when somewhere maybe in the 70's it became a road car and by the point where the hummer became a normal SUV the G class already had it's status, appearing in games like MC3 (Fun Fact: this is the only R* game that has official licensed vehicles and one of the only that doesn't contain swearing, violence or killing and was based on like the GTA SA handling too)
Why does the G class being older than Hummer relate to my comment at all? If any of y'all lived in an area where hummers were common, you'd understand the joke because most of the Hummer drivers switched to the G wagon only AFTER the Hummer glory days.

BTW, I totally want a Hummer H1 for an off-road beast/toy. You really can’t beat it. I wonder how the Raptor would do against it. The H1 may need some extra horses to keep up, though. Gonna have to mod that H1 to only 5 mpg, lol.

If I was an executive at GM in 2007, I would've requested the Hummer brand to become a Direct competitor to Jeep. Oh yeah, they tried with the H4 concept. It was great while it lasted. I Miss the brand. Specially low-key like the 2008 H2 with a nice cocoa interior when they redid the interior.
