- Equipment expert Adam Ried discusses the top blenders on the market.
Buy our winning mid-priced blender: cooks.io/2XWPoVq
UPDATE: Breville recently discontinued our winning midpriced blender, the Hemisphere Control and replaced it with a new blender, the Fresh & Furious. We ordered the new blender and ran it through a battery of tests, comparing it to the Hemisphere throughout, making smoothies, mayonnaise, and almond butter, and crushing ice. We’re pleased to report we like the new model even more than the last.

Not everyone has/wants to spend HUNDREDS of dollars on a blender!! I had a ninja it burnt out in a year; never again...got an Oster 1200 for $99; makes GREAT smoothies still going strong 4 yrs later; I LOVE it!!
I love that you guys have been posting this content on youtube!!!
I really appreciate your testing and explanations. It's been very helpful in the last year when I've had to replace some worn out/broken kitchen gear. Thank you!!
I was literally thinking about blenders today and thought “let me see if test kitchen has a recommendation”. Guess what, fresh off the press!! Love the video, thank you for making these great videos.
LOVE Adam. Thanks for bringing him back!
the first anti vitamix commercial video I have a vitamix for the last 25 years it just does not die or break down
I'm so glad I found this channel. I am so tired of purchasing kitchen items that only last a short period of time. I plan to only buy what you all recommend for now on because I trust your testing. Thank you.
PIZZOS PAGES I don’t think they are as honest as they use to be. Make sure you do your research beyond these guys.
I have purchased model no KGBD-05 BLINDER BUT IT FAILED TO WORK. THIS IN THE SECOND ONE NOW.. ANY COMMENTS?
Love these equipment reviews. Thanks
I bought my Breville a couple of years ago after my Ninja motor burned out. For the price, I’m totally pleased with the Breville.
Hi, can it blend to creamy? For example can it make creamy sauces from cashews?
I love my Kitchen Aid Pro Line Blender with thermal jar! It’s pricey but worth every dime, in my opinion.
Good informative blender comparison, thanks! The Breville Fresh & Furious is also available in Europe as the Sage Fresh & Furious. Basically the same product but with "Sage" engraved at the front instead of "Breville".
Fabulous! Thank you for testing all of these blenders! I’m excited to make smoothies this summer!
Checked the Breville website and this blender is discontinued. I am sure there are stores that have inventory left but it is something to keep in mind. Looks like they replaced it with the Breville Fresh and Furious
I have the KitchenAid k150 blender and I love it and I’ve had them all! From oster, vitamix, Hamilton beach, and so on...my first KitchenAid blender purchase and I’ve been using it everyday I don’t even pull out my food processor anymore! And I paid less for my blender then the food processor! Go figure! A good chefs knife can do everything a processor can do! 👍🏽😁
Couldn't afford a Vitamix ... so I did a little research and settled for the Wolfgang Puck Commercial Blender ... WOW! I LOVE it! It does a GREAT job! You should review it!
I have the Breville and it's fantastic!
I took Tomatoes and Basil out of my garden and combined tomato-Basil-garlic-EVOO-pinch salt-pinch sugar in the blender and made a delicious raw pasta sauce for lunch today! Garnished with more fresh basil and a bit of fresh Romano Cheese. NUMMY!!
The blades only chop initially: when the vortex is going it is the air bubbles that do the fine pulverizing in the mixture. At high rpms the blades create the vortex which is a tornado with heaps of air bubbles. These bubbles explode and any food particle that is near a bubble is pulverized. So the blades only cut down to a certain size and it is the bubble or more correctly the shockwave of the exploding bubble that rips the matter to an even finer grade, which is why you need a blender that feeds all material into the vortex; otherwise your stuff doesn't get pulverized properly.
So what are the speeds (rpm) on the Breville BBL620 Fresh & Furious Blender?
I rely on your equipment tests and ratings. I will be buying this blender. Thank you. 😊
Agree with them on the vortex and the roundness of the container. I have a blendtec with square edges, it always gets good stuck in there. It has a lot of power, but the food just ends up splattering along the top and not mixing well.
Start that bad boy off slowly and you wouldn't have that problem.
Can you compare new Breville super Q vs Vitamix a3500 or venture 1200 ?
I see the blenders used on many cooking shows and many other people saying they love them and could not do without them. Personally, I don't have one and could do without it and use the hand mixer for what I do.
Hey dear I want to buy a blender where I can blend juice, dry spice, and it's blender would be good,,so which blender I can buy,can u say the name?
Thank you! Wonderful information. I am watching all your reviews before I buy any kitchen appliances these days!! Bravo!
I literally used their exact Breville this morning for smoothies. You just fill it, press the button and it makes your drink. It's perfect.
what are the other blenders that were tested in the video besides the Breville?
My Breville bit the dust after only a year. Went ahead and bought a Vitamix. An amazing blender, used frequently. Holding up well, easy to clean. Granted, it was expensive, but i do not anticipate having to ever buy another blender again.
Wait till Costco or Sam's Club has sales on their high-end blenders like Blendtec or Vitamix. I purchased my Blendtec at Costco several years ago and it's still going strong. Many times they throw in their small Twister Jar free. Well worth the investment!
I saw a comparison video of the Breville getting absolutely trounced by a vitamix. Seems like nothing else compares.
Love your work
Love the informative info this channel provides. I have a 5000 series VitaMix thats several years old. I'd be curious if VitaMix would win in a high-end blender test?
It most likely would. Who are we kidding!
Of course it would. Even my 15 yr old 5200 will beat this anyway.
ua-cam.com/video/4dlSYg43TUY/v-deo.html
I got to have a New Decent Blender by the end of this year because I used the Hell Out of My 12 year old Magic Bullet!
I just want to see where Vitamix stands! I understand it is a high end blender. Please! CAN’T have a Test Kitchen without at least one of them🤓
They did a video and the vitamix 5200 is the winner
The Vitamix cost over $300, which is why it wasn't here. It won the high-end category -- /watch?v=4dlSYg43TUY
can I put whole raw carrots in the Breville for smoothies?
The Vitamix is King... Hands down! You can find them at 350 bucks on sale or at clubs etc and if included would beat out all others. Cooking shows and all restaurants use them exclusively it seems, and for good reason.
>reference Blendtec videos
>don't include Blendtec
Forget the mayonnaise test, how am I supposed to know which of these blenders will emulsify my phone the best?
go spend some money and give it a shot, Let us know what the results are.
Even the newer fresh and furious isn't available on Amazon :( was hopeing to pick one up for prime day..
I like my calphalon. It been working for me everyday for over a year
Please add captioning for those with hearing difficulty.
YOU have to turn it on in settings.
UA-cam add those automatically. But it can sometime take up to a day to get them.
@@saulgoodman2018 It's been 9 months thou
I've checked it says captioning is unavailable
For Smoothies did you test the Ninja with the dedicated cups ? I like it because you drink it from the same cup less to clean
Love my Ninja. BTW they should have mentioned Ninja has a separate smoothie container and setting.
Ninja jammed up too much with ice and frozen fruit, also was deafeningly loud
The ninja blender has 3 other narrow cylinderical containers and has different blending speeds low medium and high so you can adjust the speed to your needs... I thought I would find more in this video but it was not that much of a help
I have the exact Ninja they tested & I love it. I use it daily & never had a issue.
here here! I agree!
Yea me too and I love it
I have the Breville, a few years old. Light use until I started making daily 1.5-2 L frozen smoothies. Sadly, you guys should have looked up market some more. The Breville is just not powerful enough and it is clearly burning the motor by the rank burning smells it is making. Yours are lasting because you have so many you are distributing the load. I definitely wanted to see comparison with a higher power Blendtec or Vitamix. You could have stratified them and left it to us to decide if I want to spend that much money. Disappointed in your outcome since I KNOW your best choice is not up to snuff, at least in my kitchen.
I love the results from this blender BUT, you don't mention that the contents will spray out the top when starting. I always need to place a towel over the top before pushing even the slow start button. I forgot to the other night and I had pressure cooker pot roast gravy all over my counters and cupboards! Very unhappy!!
Please do a review on juicers!
I would love to see your views on a Vitamix
They love it. If I recall it won the high end last time some years ago. It however is $500...not $300 or less like these.
please please please review juicers.................... there are and overwhelming number of them out there. Where do I invest my dollars. I hate having so many small appliances to store, but I don't want to have to peel, core, cut veg and fruit pre-juicing either. HELP :) Love this channel. Happier 2021!
It would be nice if y'all would give a second option for something less expensive. Most people don't have $200 to send on a blender.
Thanks.
How about testing the lower end models? I want to spend less than $50, for a machine with a glass jar that I use only occasionally.
They have tested lower price models but with a blender we're talking $100 there.
If under 50 in a glass jar are important to you, It sounds like you should try a thrift store. I found it a Waring at Savers for $10 and use it once in a blue moon. But it does a good job when I need it.
I think the thing is like 50 years old.
Please do high end blenders. Wanna see if my Breville Boss is worth upgrading to new Breville Super Q
There's no way a vitamix isn't going to win a high-end blender comparison.
ua-cam.com/video/4dlSYg43TUY/v-deo.html
For anyone thinking they can't afford a vitamix, wrong. But you need to think long term. The vitamix will last most people a life time. Buy one and no more. Plus they are just so WONDERFUL. 👍
I wish this included the higher price to include a base vitamix blender
The
Breville the Hemisphere control does not seem to be sold anymore. We need a new test.
The bevel doesnt have a manual speed knob.
I love my BlendTec! I can make a small batch or a huge batch.
Is it worth the extra $150 to move up to a Vitamix?
If you do smoothies every single day, yes. They did a review of "high-end" blenders some time ago and said that as good as this one is, it can't compare with vitamix. However, if you don't want to spend that kind of money and just want a decent blender that gets used a few times a week, go with Breville. But yes, the vitamix is that good if you use it enough and have the $.
YES YES A thousand times YES! You can also save money by purchasing a reconditioned unit from Vitamix. They come with full guarantee and are worth looking into. This is what I did
I got a vitamix explorian. If you got the money its worth getting. It will last longer than all other blenders.
The Breville is a good blender. The Oster Vera he has on that table is a good blender. Karmin makes a good blender. Anything else beyond these is heavy duty Vita-Mix 5200 territory.
I am a bit confused, anyone else? Adam mentions the winning blender is the Breville Hemisphere BUT from information I have found it is no longer available. Even Amazon lists it as no available. YET if you follow the link in the description of the video that takes you to the winning blender it takes you to a page for another Breville, the Breville BBL620 Fresh & Furious Blender. My presumption is that the Hemisphere is not available any longer but the Fresh & Furious must just be the newer model? Does that seem right to anyone else? I can't pin it down since both Julia and Adam both call the winning one Breville Hemisphere?
The Hemisphere was discontinued and replaced with the Fresh and Furious
How about a review on portable ice machines ?????
My Breville Hemisphere blew up. It wasn't perfect by any means. I would have to hold it to keep it from walking all over the counter. I've been trying to decide between a new Breville or a Vitamix. I was wondering about the Breville "Q" and how it would perform. I don't find many reviews of it. It might be nice to see a current review of the more expensive blenders.
How can I buy?
Good Wishes with money
All you need is a Vitamix...it’s worth the money..
I always go to your reviews to find what I want. Other places just don't have good reviews for products. They always start with the most expensive and seem to parrot what the company tells them.
Yes my blander won the competition 😍😍 I bought mine at the Hudson Bay for 80 $ on sale
I too would like to see how higher priced blenders compare. Thanks! Enjoy these comparisons very much!
How about making seitan
Blenders add air. Ive seen where this knocks out the nutrition of the food . you have to have a vacuum seal. So ive been trying to find a reasonable priced one. any ideas?
rocknrollermann you’ll have to quantify your statement a bit more than simply “knocks out the nutrition of the food”. I cannot fathom what you mean other than smoothies, and more specifically fresh fruit and vegetable juices which oxidize and lose SOME nutrients after blending. But blending but butters, making mayonnaise or any other number of chores the blender is great for isn’t going to “knock out” nutrients by adding air.
@@AllegedlyApril What i heard from somewhere, cant remember where, is that the the nutrition is greatly reduced in fruits and veges when making smoothies. because of the air.
rocknrollermann I recommend doing your research; not a quick Google search and reading the top two results - really dedicate some time to learn about the subject. I know there are a couple different approaches to how people prefer to prepare their smoothies (or veggie juices): make the day of consumption or make in advance and consume several days later. If you’re super busy and blend up some smoothies in advance, you can use a Foodsaver lid attachment (or other similar vacuum food saver system) and remove a large portion of the air prior to storing in the fridge which will help significantly with degradation of ingredients. However, I should warn you if this is the route you choose, don’t make a large batch until you know how your creation will taste the next day after having sat for any length of time. Even chilled, the taste and texture can change a lot depending on the ingredients. I always make mine the day I plan on consuming.
Ninja has a Vacuum blender that comes with a vacuum pump that pull the air out. But Im not sure if you want to purchase a cheap blender.
very informative web channel
Cannot see any Hamilton Beach blender, why?
Because they focus on lower priced models for home use.
@@lordgarion514 ohh...i've missed that part! We had a similar to the winner in our bar until someone broke the cup. it was great for blending fruit, but not so much for frozen cocktails.
Where's the Cuisinart blender? I just bought a 2 speed Cuisinart blender and it made a perfectly blended smoothie of bananas, strawberries and yogurt.
Avacarho Is your Cuisinart the Classic Style (Waring Style) Bar Blender?
You should do a low end series like $50 and bellow because i dont think ill ever buy a $200 blender
Typically all the cheap models will do the same shit job. Best to consult consumer reports and consumer search for that.
www.consumersearch.com/blenders
$200 isn't much considering theres blenders that cost $1000
I have a Vitamix and think it’s overrated. Not as high performing as I expected. May try Breville.
I appreciate, but we bought an old complete set Magic Bullet 10 years ago at a thrift store and it has never failed: it has a centrifuge juicing attachment. If I don't use that, I just strain it. All else bounced off this machine. We tried Breville at $250, they are crap, sent it back, a lot of waste. Sorry. We even found a throw off juicer at a discount store -- exact model as Breville, but more juice, less masticate, less clean up and cost $20. The juicing and blending market is despicable.
Tom Sparks Magic Bullet is Hand Down THE BEST!
Breville hasn't made the Hemisphere for quite a long time.
They have updated the video description to indicate they recommend the new Breville model.
fingerbottom There is this new version of the Hemisphere called the Fresh and Furious.
"I don't wanna blend my phone" so accourate
Don't get confused, vitamix is the final destination
@Sam Yun, I got my vitamix 5200(wet and dry container) from Costco almost 5 yrs ago. I cook extensively and its a beast and biatch. I grind wheat kernels, different types of millets, mung beans, flax seeds using dry and make smoothies with fruits like mango with the skin in the wet and it comes out so smooth that I have given it to lot of my friends, marketing the product for free. I love it to death.
Vitamix is the best for longevity, simplicity, and quality.
Breville makes excellent products all around.
I much prefer the old format rather than this qvc approach
Bought my Vitamix 750 four years ago and never regret it. Benjamin Franklin said: *The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.* In other words, if buy good and reliable things, yes they are expensivew some what more than the compatition but they last longer and in that period, you also enjoy using them instead of the low priced stuff you buy in hopes that is works and will not break on you just when you need it. LOVE My VITAMIX. My mom was a non believer, bought her 750 too and now she is believer. she grounds flours of all kinds and love her soups... Not regreting my decision. I know that good things will serve me well and ifn they don't they also got a heck of a warranty or support, I won't regret those either! Thank you Vitamix!
JustBite the bullet. it stings once. then you enjoy. qiut your cigarettes, booze, funny stupid stuff you buy, overpriced snacks and meals. save, Like I did. *then come on top.*
I owned a Blendtec and loved it until one day I tried my friend's Vitamix. I sold the Blendtec and went out to buy a Vitamix. Much better blender.
Can you please include a best buy winner? I'm not spending $200 on a blender! Thank you.
Best buy not necessarily best to use...Google if you wish a price comparission through ...maybe moneysaving expert ...gocompare...etc
RPM= Rotations per minute, not revolutions. Easy way to remember: Earth rotates (spins) on its axis and revolves (goes around) the sun.
In my experience, 'revolutions' is more commonly applied in situations like this, and will likely convey the intended meaning effectively.
Still the most honest product review in youtube. Some are just a dumbazz expert wanna be.
Hmmmm now I’m finding this hard to believe that you guys stocked the test kitchen with breville blenders. We all know the vitamix 5200 pro beats breville any day. Now this is telling me you guys have a contract with breville as you guys are always advocating for breville products lately. Keep it 💯 please...
thats a $450 blender bro. they said it was a list of blenders without breaking a budget. Keep it real, please.
What is this? The best blender that isn't a Vitamix?
The Vitamix cost over $300, which is why it wasn't here.
... where is the Vitamix?
ninja works great, i would rather use an immersion blender for mayonnaise
Eileen J those thinga dont last though
@@gigi9467 I guess that depends what brand to do. Most blenders last forever though lol.
Eileen J so not true they break. For home maybe but even then
@@gigi9467 lol. I was being sarcastic, blenders don't last forever. If I lucky mine will last me 2 years.
Eileen J oh well buy a vitamix it will last for ever haha i have one at my restaurant that been doing its thing for over 10 years
The breville hemisphere has been discontinued.
They have updated the video description to indicate they recommend the new Breville model.
i bought a 29$ oster blender , it makes very good smoothies and all other things. just keep it blend food, fruit ,and all other thinks for 15 , 20 second extra , and you got same result of 300 dollar blender! do not forget all people how make video for any items are getting money from the company!!!!!!
They are not getting money from Breville.
They are sponsored by Kohler, Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove.
And apparently that's why they don't review large appliances because it would be a conflict of interests.
No vitamix. I'm surprised.
They made the price cap $300.
Time to redo the test! Breville decided to discontinue your pick for the winner. :-/ :-/ :-/
So many Wolf wall ovens in the background
Its Blentec & Vitamix...and then everybody else
But not necessarily in that order! Just kidding...I own both and love both!
be great if you could compare froothie.co.uk/optimum-9200/ blender against them, as it is 2611w powerful value blender but not sure if its as good as it sounds. please review esp want to know if they last, thanks in advance
Oh this isn't a Lisa video, never mind
But they don't test a Vitamix, okkkk....
Omnis They DID test the VitaMix in the previous Blender Review.
These are MID-PRICED Blenders they were reviewing.
I have a very basic $14 blender😂
Brenda Krieger Long as it works and does what it’s supposed, that’s nothing wrong with it.
so this dude is a host on America's test kitchen but be having teeth like he's from 18th century Britain
I enjoy your videos but why are you repeating them? this isn't the first instance
