We keep a bucket full of sand in our shed. we have a little bit of vegetable oil mixed through the sand. And we are done with our garden tools we have a scraper to get the clumps of dirt off. We then dig the tool in and out of the oily sand several times, then take a whisk broom to get the sand particles off. Not only does it clean your tools but keeps them oiled at the same time.
@@chantrawehrli7755 Hubby said he doesn't remember how much exactly. Just poured a little in & stirred until a little oily. Not soupy or dripping. Sand with oil will react similar to kinetic sand in my observation. It will need refreshing with more oil periodically. Hope that helps.
You know that scene in The Matrix where they just inject knowledge into someone's mind like karate or piloting a helicopter, I feel like I just got the gardening version. These are fantastic.
I used the big clear tubs this year (and clear lids) to hold seedlings when weather was questionable. I’d leave them open when it’s nice. Close them if was a bit cold at night. Close them if there was a strong storm. Bring them in when it was freezing. I tried the egg thing some years back. I found them to be too small. Might as well directly sow in the garden if you’re thinking of using that.
I just bought a bulb planter but I had no idea the handle opens up to release the dirt. I use a pipe to plant because of my back but it is genius to have one to space them. Very nice video my favorite is grass clippings. I have ben doing that for over 40 years. My first garden never needed fertilizer just grass. Thank you I enjoyed it.
Hello Mr.Jag Singh You have such wonderful and innovative ideas with things available with us for gardening. It is so helpful for home gardener's. Truly impressive. Thank you for all the effort taken to share your knowledge🙏
Did you thought he was named after one of the top running drama show on CBS,ha? You know which on I'm talking about that spawned a couple of spin-offs?.
recycle, reuse, repurpose. Our kids are learning this in school, just lately adults are encouraged to do so. Great video. I think I'll rewatch in case I missed something!
Used one PVC pipe down the side of the garden. Then used a PVC hose attachment with a cut off valve for each bed. We now can control how much water each bed gets.
These are great tips. I use toilet paper rolls- super easy. I like the idea of cardboard dividers in the spinach container. I use those containers for germination but that's a good idea so I don't have to spend so much time detangling roots.
I recently tried your tip using the spinach container for starting seeds it's amazing, though I wish I would have watched the whole thing , because they were small seeds and I should have used the cardboard to separate the seeds. But anyway thanks for the amazing ideas, can't wait to try the aloe and honey compound.
No idea how i came across this video, i watched it and learned a few more tips for my garden, i checked out your page and very impressed and have subscribed, thanks from UK
Don't mulch with leaves in the UK, it's a great way to let slugs thrive in our wet climate. Use compost as it doesn't give habitat to slugs and use the leaves to make compost unless you don't have any plants in the bed then you can use leaves to feed the soil over winter and by the time spring comes the leaves will have decomposed.
Compost isn't a mulch because the particles have become so small, it absorbs water and will wick it away from the soil surface, which is the opposite of what a mulch is supposed to do. I'm sure you can get away with it there but trying to use compost as a mulch in say, zone 9b during summer won't work, you need a thick blanket of un-composted organic matter to protect from the elements. I make little mini-ponds from these same spinach containers he uses in the video, to keep around lizards, frogs, small birds, etc. that are all helping to control the slug population
Dear brother Life is learning & instructing forever. Today I grave the opportunity to view your farming class. I am German living in Frankfurt. I like 👍 your Farm and like to visit your Farm when I will visit California. Insha’Allah
The greenhouse ideas are good, so are the seedstarting ones. I'll try the rust one too. The cup one at end is kinda silly. I can't imagine that the PVC one doesn't leak at every single connector unless you glue it and it let it dry first...? The grass mulch one, if it's fresh make sure not to put it on too thick or you will create habitat for slugs and it will create anaerobic (no oxygen) soil conditions since it mats.
Wow so much great and valuable information. I just love your videos and learned so much. I will use some of your ideas this summer. All the best and stay safe. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
Plastic containers don't protect against frost, if you actually checked with a thermometer you'd probably notice the temperature inside the box is lower then the temperature outside the box. You need fleece or some kind of insulating cover. Airtight plastic boxes increase the risk of molds attacking your plants anyway and will cook your plants in the evening sun
Like your videos man I won't to become rich in multiple ways and one of the ways are farming which is I am learning from you thanks man have good day.💙
Which one is your favorite hack?
I like your hot compost grew ideas thanks for sharing with everyone
Love watching your videos. I don't have much space ,but I started utilizing many of your techniques. Really helpful. 🦋
Good Idea !👍😊

Loved the tomato cage greenhouse! A solution to a problem I was jussst talking about today. 😋 thank you!
I started all my seeds using old spinach containers and paper towels for this season. Took 2-3 days and germination rate was 100% 👍
Remember to wipe on a thin layer of mineral oil onto tools after cleaning them. This will help prevent rust and corrosion.
