As a trans person, while I don't like Rowling for her stance on people like me, I'm still glad to have been in Harry Potter before she went down that way. That series gave me something to cling to when I was stuck in an abusive home and got me my first friend, and is the starting reason why I got into writing and artwork.
I think everyone on this planet has got a right to live and be whoever they want. It is not up to us to judge them. Who do we think we are to tell other people how to live their lives? We might think that oh it's not that bad what I said but you might be the 100th person that day who does it and then someone might (hopefully not) end up taking their live bcs of people who have NO flipping right to have a say in anyones live other then theirs. It just gets me every time when people can't express who they are without some ......saying something. Just leave everyone alone, nobody has done anything to you.. I hope people will understand one day that we all have equal rights in this world doesn’t matter who or what we are!
