I have four of these creatures, 2-25' & 2-46'. At 16:19 when you pulled the sections apart, this has happened to me, (more than once.) My solution, after marking the stopping point as you did, was to lightly paint about 8 inches above the stopping point with any color paint you choose as a visual warning that the stopping point was approaching. Since then, I have never pulled a section out beyond the marking point. And yes, with a payload on them, they are heavy and you don't want to have them drop damaging either the mast or payload. / '73 - Steve
I'm planning on adding either indicator lines or an inverted isosceles triangle on each section so that I can see that I am getting close to the final line.
Couple of questions. 1. What did you use as a base? Yo keep it standing? I want one of these for pota and other portable ops... im concerbed about wind. 2. What did you use or how did you connect your wireline antenne? 3. Do you think it could support a 2meter verticle lime a comet GP-6? 4. What do you think of it after a bit of usage?
Well, it was a bit frustrating watching you put those clamps on those polls… Since you should be putting the clamp on the larger pole with a bit of epoxy to secure it permanently and then adjust in the clamping section after the epoxy is set. Not having secure connections on the outside poles seems a little sketchy to me. I have the exact same pole and I’ve done it according to the instructions that came with it. At any rate good luck with whatever you put on top of it and I hope it does not blow down. 73 from WB2PSB.
cool looking setup I would've liked to have seen a zoomed out view to see compared to you standing there the height I know 25 feet or so just gives me more of an idea. I see they also sell a 46 foot version on the site. Might have to pick one of these up and see how they do long term outside in the elements.
It's a little difficult to tell if this is how you installed the clamps - but I should think that the 'non-lever part' of the clamp goes on the larger diameter section, and the 'lever part' of the clamp would be for the nesting section above.
Indeed, I have gone back and moved the clamps down to the larger section and tightened them down. The upper clamp end then tightens the smaller upper section. My not interpreting the instructions correctly. Thanks!
Nice video! I'm consider getting the 40ft version and removing some of the sections and using them for another support, do you think that would work? What did you use to secure your dipole to the mast?

Definitely will be my next antenna mast. Great job on the videos.

Is there a piece of hardware at the top to tie the cord that is at the end of your wire antenna to?
How do you grond your antenna
