A fast, compact deck tech full of energy... too good. I know it would take double the time for me to go through all of that information! Thanks for the vid, and happy Valentines! :)
I'm just into normal edh, but this was very incitefull. I have always been a nekuzar player and now wanting to add kess as part of the 99. Interesting to see your interaction suite
I'm super close to building this full deck (save for the og duals) but then everything reserve list spiked :( I at least got a guided drake dirt cheap a couple of years ago lol. But man Grim monolith and Mox diamond are the two rocks I'm nowhere close to affording (I was THIS close to get a badlands back in 2016 but my money situation got really volatile the week before I could save up for one in the $80 range and I missed my chance) Thank god for the crypt reprint though!
Ever since Flash got banned, I put JVP back in my Shimmer Myr deck and it’s pretty good. I took out almost all the cards I would’ve fought against Flash Hulk and I’m considering taking out the last piece, Aven Mindcensor, because I only had it to fight against Hulk but it really hasn’t served me much purpose besides that.
Marco Bordier echo of eons for timetwister the three dual lands are hard and imperial seal you can replace with like grim tutor I know it’s not perfect you could also replace it with vamp tutor pending your budget
Spell Snare is pretty bad in cEDH. Spell Pierce is always online against noncreature spells, and even if the opponent pays 2 to resolve their spell, that tax might be enough to stop the opponent from doing whatever else they wanted to do that turn.
I'm not certain but I imagine it's to preserve deck slots. Lab Man is a pretty dead card outside of the combo, Jace slightly less so but still not great, and Thassa's Oracle is the most compact win-con. Because there's so much card selection and tutoring in the deck, you don't need to increase your chances of finding one. By contrast, Flash Hulk runs into speedbumps if it draws its Thassa's or LabMan, so having s second copy in the deck reduces the chances of Hulk whiffing.
I cut labman for card efficiency. By replacing a card that only has a static ability for a more utility card. I'm testing underworld breach in my labman slot and I'm not disappointed.
I think the only reason you would leave Laboratory Maniac in is to go for a faster draw step win than Jace can provide (as fast as turn two). Outside of that, Lab Man is strictly worse than Oracle or Jace, mainly because it can be killed in response to you drawing the card to win, whether you attempt to win in your draw step or cast a cantrip.

Great presentation of the deck there. I look forward to seeing more coverage like this. And I'm up for a 30-minute video about Chain of Vapor. :-)
Wow great job gentleman, this Kess build is SICK. I'm loving that reanimate for Fish tech!
Lovely deck tech. The dude is great.
Would love to see how his deck is coming along with the new sets. :)

Nice
Love the video! I'm a bit broke so if I was to take out the 3 dual lands, the timetwister, and the imperial seal, what would you replace it with?

Wanna see ythia deck in action, specially the storm card, any link?
Do Shimmer Zur next please
Is that Wedge from TheManaSource?????
Why not spell snare instead of spell pierce? Great video

kess may use Hatred too.
Subterranean Promotions such as?
Why do you not want all three lab men? All three are being tested in fish hulk, so I don't see why this deck wouldn't want all three.
