A bass Clarinet making flute sounds is cursed, but I love it
I was about to say "yeah but you can't slap on it" and you did the tongue slap lol. Very cool instrument.
😉
Yeah, take that Davie 504
You play bass clarinet
👇
I play Bb clarinet but not bass clarinet…there are only two bass clarinets in our entire symphonic winds band, a senior and a freshman lol
@@claire_and_layneethere’s only two bass clarinets in my high school; a junior (me), and a freshman
Me, among other instruments :)
@@claire_and_laynee I’m the only bass clarinetist in my school so
I MARCHED WITH FOUR TOTAL
"You probably know it from its famous line in the nutcracker."
I just knew this
When you play any sort of bass instrument and you see other instruments with "bass" in their name its basically an immediate neuron activation
Wise words 🤝
You sit beside a bass clarinet during practice:
I play the bass clarinet and I instantly love the tone it has, I love just playing beautiful solos on it!
💛
Bass clarinet is for people who are too afraid to face the mighty power of the saxophone that only few can handle
😂
Me personally nah, I tried saxophone and I guess I was so bad my band teacher at the time just moved me to bass clarinet, and I've just stuck with the instrument 😂😂
Plzzzzz, the low Clarinets always go lower than their Saxophone counterpart. Bb Bass Clarinet has the same fundamental pitch as a Tenor Sax but it can go ALMOST one octave lower with the Bb extension. Got to get a BariSax with an extension to hit that same low concert Bb. That disparity continues on as the Clarinets and Saxophones get bigger.
@@nolimitsnuttbusts4u I have never seen a clarinet go lower than b flat my guy. And I play clarinet.
@@Lionheartsmh What part didn't you understand?
i play bass clarinet and i can confirm that bass clarinet is indeed, an awesome instrument
🤝
Bass clarinet for life!
I play bass clarinet and you are very talented
Thank you ! 💛
Contrabass flute sounds so nice imo
I play bass clarinet and i used to play clarinet but I decided to switch to bass clarinet since i saw a girl in 8th grade play it and two years later im still playing it i dont regret the switch 😭❤️
Nice ! The bass clarinet is such a versatile instrument, that's also why it's my main instrument :)
Slappin the bass!
Davie504 would be proud
Great playing!!!!
all bass instruments are the best in my op, bass trombone, bass clarinet, bassoon, bari and bass sax, and even all instruments within the contrabass range
He just casually has a low c extension bass clarinet that’s a Dream I just have a cheap one all jokes aside you’re very talented and help you keep making videos
You're a connoisseur ! I have indeed a Low C extension, I wanted the most bass possible haha. It's a Kessler Custom V2 Bass Clarinet and it's more affordable than the ones from major brand
I just recently bought a Buffet for significantly less than average price. It still hurts so much.......
Yeah i have never seen a extension one before 😅
I played trumpet for from the 5th grade all the way through highschool but during the middle of my junior year I switched to clarinet and really enjoyed in. Then senior year i stepped up and played bass clarinet for the wind ensemble. Needless to say it is my favorite instrument and my favorite to play.
As a Bass player, I LOVE THIS.
That solo was beautiful. Such a nice bass clarinet sound!
Thank you ! 💛
@@Another-Cool-ThingWhat solo was that by the way?
Just an improvisation :)
I miss Jeff Van Gundy too. 😢
i kinda prefer tuba's low notes but bass clariinet sounds dope too
They said I was crazy for marching bass clarinet
Never without a strap 🥵
@@Another-Cool-ThingWell I march shows with a low c bass clarinet without a strap and honestly I got quite quickly used to it. In the beginning it is quite painfull im the wrists but it's fine.
@@corinneeberli6093 Wow, I don't know how you can do this !
Bravo !
❤❤❤
Dance of a sugar plum fairy is such a good song
I was surprised when it made a fucking digerdoo sound 😂
This is my secret technique 😂
Eric Dolphy, the best bass clarinet player in the entire Warp
I played Bass Clarinet in High School for 2 years; Concert & Marching Band.
I was the only person in my high school😳
I play bass clarinet and I did not know those tricks
I Play clarinet
I play the bass clarinet for HS really wanna get one of my own and get good with it.
What was that little jam at the beginning of the video? It sounded awesome
Thanks ! It's just a little improvisation :)
tuba has entered the chat*
I play that
we need a tutorial on the digeradoo
You just have to remove the mouthpiece then try to do the didgeridoo embouchure, I don't have a didgeridoo tutorial but you can check on UA-cam :)
You sound like the guitarist bernth
He's German I guess ?
plants versus zombies
Nice saxophone.
😂
Joke aside, the modern bass clarinet was created by the inventor of the saxophone, and this was before he created the saxophone so the shape of the bass clarinet was an inspiration for him when creating it :)
If law from one piece didnt eat the fruit
😂
Thanks, I love it. I really do.
I'm glad you liked it ! :)
i play bass clarinet and you can slap on it?? that's actually kinda cool idk how i never knew that
Yeah ! Check tutorials on UA-cam from Beatbox Sax :)
In my opinion, I like the Bari Sax better but the bass Clar and the Bari Sax is one of the best low reed duos
For me, in the low register the bari sax is more punchy and present, while the bass clarinet is more smooth. Two different usages :) .
But when I put a Fibracell reed in my bass clarinet I found the sound to be a lot brighter and closer to a saxophone... This gave me a video idea ! I'll shoot a little comparison :)
Based
I pretty much play the nerfed version of this. The tenor sax. Or maybe this is a nerfed tenor sax
OMG I FOUND ANOTHER BASS PLAYER
I play bass clarinet toooo I love it so much
Ohhh ! Yeah I love it, it's my main instrument :)
Eyyy
The only other Clarinet that has a wider range than the Bb Bass is the EEb Contra-Alto Clarinet. I tell everybody get the Contra because it can hit that one low note you cant hit on the Bass and it can go just as high as the Bass 😂
I would love to have a Contralto Clarinet !
Yes❤!!
I haven’t played since high school, but I still have my bass clarinet. I just ordered some more reeds and I’m gonna start playing again! I want to find good solos to work on.
Glad to hear that ! Keep spreading the bass clarinet vibes 😊
@@Another-Cool-Thing gladly
Your tone is relatively reminiscent of a bari sax and it sounds amazing!
Thanks ! I still need to improve my embouchure, this is not easy 🥵
Is this a contra alto bass?
It's a standard Bb Bass Clarinet with a Low C extension :)
ça y est je suis abonné. C'est tres pro; bravo!
You have a very great kaval/ney embochure
Haha thanks 😊
I play bass clarinet in 7th grade band. Its the best instrument for sure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah I love it too !
Saxophonists: Naaaaa thank s a saxophone
😂
the lowest note on my bass clarinet is a Db or a E#
I have a low C extension on mine, that's why it can go to Bb :)
i wish i had a low c bass clarinet@@Another-Cool-Thing
Yo, what mouthpiece do you use?
Hello, I use a Selmer Focus :)
I have a question: Can person who played the clarinet for 3 years play the bass clarinet easily?
Btw you are very talented!!
Yes ! It's the exact same fingerings for the Chalumeau and Clarion register :) , the notes are also the same but just one octave below
K tysm for answering!!@@Another-Cool-Thing
Wonderful❤
Can You do more instrument videos? Theyre way more interesting than your a other cool videos, which are cool btw
It's planned :D . I have some other instruments to show, but I'm in the process to transition to longform videos (that's why recent videos are shorter, but also of better quality) and I'll redo some of the instruments I've already shown like the Hulusi.
Thank you for your comment :)
@@Another-Cool-Thing indeed, I'll be waiting for it
My bass can’t do that
Whats the solo with the high notes?
As a clarinet player myself this looks cool as shit
"just play saxophone" 🤓
😂
I play the bass clarinet it’s so much fun but is that a intermediate bass or no because mine does not have the extra keys
It's a Low C bass clarinet, it's still a bass clarinet but has a 3 keys extension :)
I’m sorry to break the vibe, but why does he have that look that’s like, “help me”?
Omg it's true ! 🤣
how did you do the side flute!!
You'll have to remove de mouthpiece to do this effect, this position is similar to the ney flute embouchure, it's quite hard to get but it's a nice trick :)
Contra bass
I'd love to play a contrabass clarinet, even just a contralto 💛
how do you do the last effect?
By removing the mouthpiece and playing in the barrel like a didgeridoo/trumpet :)
I'm looking into purchasing one and I was just wondering if anyone knew what brand his bass clarinet is?
Hello ! It's a Kessler Custom Low C Bass Clarinet (Gen 2), it's one of the best Low C bass clarinet a this price range (2500$) :)
@@Another-Cool-Thing thanks so much
I recently started playing bass clarinet (played normal clarinet for years) and for the life of me I cannot play high notes (b and above). Any tips?
The embouchure is quite tricky to find, try to raise a bit you head (like if you are looking upward), Earspasm has a video on that subject :)
Thanks!@@Another-Cool-Thing
Dude how is your bass clarinet so long, and your lucky you got the right hand thumb keys that bass has to have been more than $6,000 at least
It's a Low C bass clarinet, it has 3 extra notes on the bottom register :) . This clarinet is a Low C Kessler Bass Clarinet Gen 2, it costs only 2500$ and is quite good :)
Does anyone know the name of the first thing he played?
It's just a mini improvisation :)
How do u do tounge slap?
The tongue bends into a spoon like shape and apply a suction to the reed, it pulls the reed backward then release it, producing a "Pop" sound
If you blow air while releasing the reed you'll do a nice attack for your note :)
You can also do "Open Slap Tongue" by opening your mouth when you release it
I do both slaps in this video :)
Check tutorials from Beatbox Sax on UA-cam, I learnt that way !
Great🥸
Thanks ! :)
What did you play in the beginning
It's just a short improvisation :)
Bassoon > Bass Clarinet
So, you want war 😤 ...
😂
Is that a mount on the neck for a piezo barrel microphone? :)
Exactly ! 😉
Wonderful!@@Another-Cool-Thing
Which pickup model do you use?@@Another-Cool-Thing
@@wiredbassclarinetIt's the Wood model from PiezoBarrel, I asked a professionnal to sold the adaptator on my bass clarinet neck, and you how did you fix it on your instrument ?
@@Another-Cool-Thing I also had a professional tech solder mine on - I have it on the right side of the lower section of the neck (my neck is also a two part neck, like yours).
Is the bass clarinet to anyone a bit sharp?
It's maybe my intonation...
@@Another-Cool-Thing I'm asking because I have tinnitus and it's really bad at the moment so it could be that. Anyway, does it take a lot of effort to play the bass? Lower saxophones (e.g. baritone) takes much more effort than say soprano or alto.
@@jazzeuphoria For me it doesn't take a lot of effort unless I try to do something like a walking bass or any fast repetitive bassline
Why is your bass clarinet so big bro bass clarinets are meant to be played sitting down I can’t tell if your like 4,5 or yours is just really skinny
Because this is a Low C bass clarinet, it has 3 extra notes so it's longer than standard ones :)
It has the same diameter though
@@Another-Cool-Thing cool 👍
Keep working on your sound 😱🤣🤣🤣
Always ^^
What is the song called that you play when you said it can go very high and do nice solos? I play bass clarinet and you are really good nice vid
wow….what a freak show.
