O Allah O Samad send prayers, peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the medicine of hearts and their treatment, the soundness of bodies and their cure, the light of vision and it's illumination, the spirit of all spirits and the secret of their endurance.

Most people will be in the hellfire? Isn't that a rather depressing view of reality that the majority of humanity will suffer for all eternity?

This is what they have chosen. Once they have been warned, it's up to them to accept or decline. Unfortunately, it looks like most will not. Side note: 999 out of them 1000 (or vast majority) are Yajuj and Ma'juj; I think this is from hadith.
      Have a good day.

@bayreuth79 Also God, alone, has the ability to put someone in heaven or hell. The opinions of people do not limit Gods options. That is not a statement against the Sheikh.

@bayreuth79 It may be depressing but your depression does not have any effect on whether or not his statement is true. I personally would like some clarification as to what the Sheikh was saying because I have heard other opinions. It is also important to remember that God has given himself the title of "Lord of the Day of Judgement". Meaning he alone has the knowledge/ understanding/ wisdom/ i.e. all the qualities required to be just in his judgement.
