07:55 this glass can be turned "blurry" with the push of a button, then it looks like ground glass. So in case the driver values his privacy you might not be able to see through. Also if the "emergency" brakes are applied, the glass will turn blurry in order to prevent the passengers from seeing accidents etc.

Algorithm comment: My most memorable ICE trip was Brussels-Köln-Frankfurt then Frankfurt-Nürnberg-München in January of 2012. Left Brussels Nord early, through the gorgeous Liege station and into Köln. My ICE paced a morning commuter out of Köln, always a treat to see. Had 20 minutes to change in Frankfurt, which didn’t seem enough but was in fact plenty. Went through the Spessart hills east of Aschaffenburg and came out to an almost-flooded Main river north of Würzbürg. Meandered down the valley to Kitzigen then started the high speed sprint to Nürnberg and München. Quite the trip through the January snow.

From WC, I’d love to take a ICE train, especially a tilting train, but I haven’t been in Germany since 1964, USAF, and unfortunately probably won’t ever be able to go back, unless something like a miracle happens! I’d love to see the ICE 3 TD trains here since we have so little electricity powered trains! Some of the passenger trains I’ve seen videos of in South FLA look pretty good, but I still think the ICE trains are better looking! I’m glad to see these new trains here anyway! Good video!

I heard that there is a new payment system that you pay 4 Euro for normal ticket, it does not matter which vehicle you take. In 2018 i paid 10 Euro for business class. I worked on these train as a Dutch technician for the Siemens company at the Siemens test facility Wildenrath in 1998. We did have a test train wich did a few thousand kilometers. It had no passenger seats ( a few for the test team ) with only the technical equipment on board at it's final destination. It was called " Train zero "; Zug Null. After the tests, this train got scrapped 😄. When the first ICE3 arrived at Wildenrath, i switched teams and did commissioning at the first N.S. and D.B. high speed trains.

If you are wondering where your ICE DB BR411/415 Started it's Dresden Hbf then Riesa Leipzig Hbf or straight from Rbf Leipzig Engelsdorf. Final Destination is Wiesbaden via Bebra Gerstungen and Frankfurt Flughafen. PIS at Leipzig Hbf displays it as ICE Erfurt Hanau Frankfurt Flughafen Wiesbaden. Locals between Leipzig and Dresden would have used the EUR 9 ticket on RE50 Saxonia Express using MDV VVO Fares.

ICE was the first European high-speed train that I have taken (Lüneburg to München) and I was quite disappointed with the almost 7-hour ride. Legroom is less than decent (I'm 180 cm or 5'11), the air-conditioning was poor during a hot summer, and the train stopped twice due to some technical issues further delaying my quite long journey. I had better experiences with TGV, Railjet, and some regular IC's.
However, it might be a one-off event and I would like to give it another chance next time I visit Germany. It's quite a pity considering that it looks so cool from the outside

Hi. I was so impressed until you said there was no catering available. A bag of Haribo and a wet wipe!! What a joke. What happened to Germany's efficiency - late to start and late to arrive (not that I know anything about the UK's timekeeping)?

4:27 instead of "mph" try to write mh or mihr or mi/h or m/h or mphr or whatever comes to your mind, and you'll see how it looks to the whole world when you write "km/h" incorrectly.
