If anything he got really screwed by the writers and Priya's plot armor relantioship with Caleb the most.

For Priya, Damien is a much better pick than Caleb as a good nice kind hearted sane boyfriend suited for her into a romantic relantioship in my opinion like if everyone agrees with me here.
