Yo man congratulations that’s really dope. I’ve been looking into the program, just gotta work towards the 1000 lifetime deliveries I’m excited to get there
I’m so happy for you…Congratulations 🎉 I live in Illinois state…I’m full time mom; I really want to continue my education in University…my husband has diamond full time Uber driver….please I really need more information about this University how and what to do..to start this process…!? How to contact you in person to talk to you please 🙏🏻?! Thank you again
Did you find the job after that program. . I would like to take software engineering BS but I am not sure that 4 year its worth that… is it possible to graduate faster.¿
You can complete an accelerated program in 2.5 to 3 years. ASU has a lot of resources when it comes to finding a job. There are other ways to get into the software development game if you don't think you want to spend the time on a 4 year degree. I have another video coming out on this exact topic. I highly recommend ASU online to anyone driving for Uber. They have amazing resources for finding a job.
Hey man, I live in the Bay Area too. I work for a startup and I drive Uber in the mornings on the way to work. I’m thinking about taking advantage of the Uber ASU program. Can I ask you some questions about it?
@@StoriesfromtheBay the start up is called Pulse Jet Studios. It’s a content creation company for virtual reality. Headsets, I’ve been a video editor for a long time and I’m the creative Director there but it’s a start up so we’re not funded yet. I’ve been working there for a year with no salary, which is why I’ve been driving for Uber, I learned about the ASU program recently. I’ve only got about 1400 rides right now so I can’t qualify just yet if I do 10 rides a day for a couple months I’ll be there. one of the things somebody told me recently was that there are programs out there which can actually take some of your work experience and converted into college credits, which can be transferable to any university, do you know if that’s possible through this Arizona state online program?
What kind of software did you use to compete your courses? How was the teaching delivered ? ASU seem like a very tech innovative school Vs other online course/school where you basically only completing discussion board and quizzes/test on blackboard
It is called Canvas and each course is different but discussion boards and other interactive learning methods are used. Some were more innovative than others. For example, geology had an interactive lab component that was quite interesting. The way the curriculum was delivered was defiantly innovative.
Congratulations and thank you for the video! I just completely my orientation from asu on that UBER program. Do you know how many rides I have to do still to keep the program?
Hey what is your email so I can ask more in depth questions? I have a few 1. How long did it take you to get the bachelor degree 2. I know online classes are kind of do it yourself but do you have an actual scheduled zoom class a couple times per week with the teacher and other classmates?
It’s definitely worth it. You can get your tuition taken care of and get a degree from ASU all the while working independently. Take advantage of it for sure.
Apply to ASU online anyway. I dropped out 9 years ago and just submitted my application yesterday. If you are accepted, you are required to apply for FASFA (it's one of Uber's requirements if they are to pay your tuition). An opportunity like this is one absolutely worth taking advantage of
It was a strange experience to be on the inside of one of these cars. I drove around with these cars a lot while I was driving for Uber in San Francisco so I am desensitized to the idea. It was fascinating to observe them. @zoox @cruise
You are welcome. As I understand it you are required to apply for federal loans and Uber will cover the balance. I encourage you to go through the process. And please, let me know how it goes.
@@lexmo8259 I hope your day went well. I haven't applied yet. I don't qualify yet. In a month or two I will reach the number of deliveries needed to qualify to apply. I will message you and let you know what they tell me.
@@tracistevens881 Awesome! Seems like you’re going to reach that number before me. I’m at ~1600 trips right now. I was wondering cause I’ve got SSN & Work Authorization, but my Green Card is applying status, so I don’t know if I qualify for FAFSA or not.
It took me 2 years because of the credits I was able to bring in from another school. I also took on a reasonablele course load year round to accelerate the process.
There is a fast track plan that allows students to take courses in all 6 sessions through the year. This would allow you to complete your degree in 2.5 to 3 years. Thanks for the good question!
Only for green card holders or US citizens... people with pending immigration status getting rejected by ASU's requirements, even with being qualified by Uber... Such discrimination based on immigration status from ASU
Fascinating???? That driving car is not something I’m a fan of. I don’t trust their respond time if an accident occurred. Maybe I should look into the AI they have before talking about it .
I have been driving with them in San Francisco for years. I am desensitized to the weirdness and trust them to drive predictably, unlike most humans! I bet they know how to merge better than humans. We are really bad and merging.
Congratulations 🍾🎊🎈 So happy for you!
Thank you so much!!

Thank you. Good luck. It went pretty fast for me. Let me know how it goes.
how long does it usually take? how many deliveries is a good goal per week?
Very nice! Congrats brotha!
Thank you Tyler 🙏
Applied yesterday, I'm so excited. Congrats on your degree!
Thanks M. I am thinking of doing another episode that answers everyone’s questions. Good luck with your application!
@@StoriesfromtheBay please do brother. Thanks in advance.
If you get a pell grant does Uber keep it or do I get it for books and stuff?

Yes very smart

So, don’t you need to sign up for FAFSA which practically already pays for your entire tuition?
You have to apply for all federal loans and grants. Uber picks up the balance.
They will cover your school and books and your not required to take any additional loans. 👍

Unless things have changed, you have to maintain gold status.

You can link up with me on IG @idgibb if that’s cool.
Is the process a scholarship process or a tuition reimbursement? Or is the cost paid up front once you qualify? Thank you for the info
It is not tuition reimbursement. It is handled more like a scholarship. You won’t have to go out of pocket except maybe on a few books.
I’m new to Uber eats and was looking to see if it’s actually worth it to do 1000 delivers for school

@@StoriesfromtheBay I'm new here. I came to America a few months ago. I need to study English. Can I get lessons through this program?

Hey I like the video. Do you happen to know if Uber/ASU have requirements on maintaining your GPA at a certain level?
I am not aware of any minimum GPA requirements. If your a driver it’s a non issue :)
