SX SJB 62 Pickup change for Fender Jazz Bass Mod Shop

In this video you can see how I have changed the pickups of my SX SJB62 for the Fender Jazz Bass Mod Shop pickups. I have tried do this like a tutorial.

I think I got this Orange amp. I had to replace blown filter caps and took trouble to subsequently twist hot and ground wires between amp and speaker - super quiet now until you put signal into it. I got an SX bass recently - it too is quiet if front and rear pickup levels are the same else get noise - above the normal levels. I orient guitar to minimize - will check shielding this week.

Mine was shielded, which greatly improves the noise issue!

Hey nice video! Really helpful. I can See hear those are flatwounds strings, but is that a fretted or fretless bass? I can't tell...

Yes is a flatwound strings with a fretless bass.

I think that size is standard. I have changed without need modifications.

did you notice that these pickups did not hum like the stock pickups? I'm looking at these as an upgrade to help with the 60 cycle hum

Yes, this pickups make less hum than the original. Now that this Bass is grounded noise is zero!

Is it possible that you have swapped the videos cause to my ears the stock pickups sound better.

The audio came directly from the camera file, there is no way it could have been changed. If you liked the sound of the original pickups better, they probably sound better for you.

A impressão que dá que o captador original SX tem som mais vintage! O fender noiseless, aos meus ouvidos, perdeu um pouco de punch! Tanto que na edição do video na parte do fender o som da camera parece estar mais alto para compensar o volume baixo da captação! Eu Tinha uma guitarra Fender strato com 2 caps noiseless, e tinha que compensar muito com um tubedrive pra poder timbrar legal. Como baixo ja tem som aveludado melhor que ele seja agudo para captar o som metalizado das cordas! Mas é isso ai, Parabéns pelo video! serve muito para pesquisa! Valew

Na vdd o sx é uma desgraça de baixo bom , o baixo é barato captadores comuns porem bate de frente com a fender tenho os 2 jazz Bass um F.Delux98 caps Jonh suhr e um sx cara vou ser sincero meu sx em algumas situações sai melhor

Muita gente fala isso sobre essa linha Noiseless, parece que a técnologia anti ruído realmente da uma perda no som. Acho que não da para ganhar de todos os lados!

A prova de que equipamentos não são tudo! O captador Fender é muito bom,mas se não souber tirar o som acontece isso ...não se vê diferença do SX pro Fender
