    Hi Max, I just want to say thank you!
    As an English student learning Russian on my own, this is the most helpful listening comprehension video I have seen on UA-cam!
    The way you interact with the camera, use hand gestures, and ask comprehension questions makes your style extremely useful.
    You have earned a new subscriber, thanks again and cheers!

    About a month ago I understood a few words and concepts from this video, but now, I understood all but four or five words (which the subtitles very helpfully explained). It's very exciting! At the same time, these videos are still pretty much the only thing I can parse. Thank you for making such a helpful video :)

    Max, your spirit is amazing! I teach English, and I study Russian. Whenever things get difficult, it can be a challenge to find that positive attitude which I always preach about. "Practicing what you preach" can be a daunting task at times, but your videos provide me with that extra push which I sometimes lack. I hope to help others, as you have helped me. Maybe I will help you with English someday! :)

    Будильник: the part of the ( digital) alarm clock where you can set to wake you up with an irritatingly sharp sound in the very early morning is the BUZZER. And if you do not switch it off, it’ll do it again. As for the antique types of clocks the timer might be called BELL.

    Будильник - alarm clock. I had to look up 'waker' to see if it's a word because we really don't use it, & waker means a person who wakes up. Example: He is an early waker. Wakeupper is not a word, but it's a very good guess as it sounds like words my kids would try to say at a young age. Actually, I think they all have tried saying this word 'wake-upper'. So, these words would probably be understood in context in English if you used them.
    I sometimes guess how to say words in foreign languages. For example, I might say Существительное глаголит что-то. Even though, I know that глаголить is not a word, but глагол is. I think this would still be understood.

    • @RussianWithMax
      @RussianWithMax  6 років тому +2

      Крег, глаго́лить - есть такое слово!:))) Например, 'истину ты глаголишь!' - you say the whole truth! Так что, да, абсолютно правильно, что ты так делаешь!) Ещё мы говорим так : Хватит разглаго́льствовать! Meaning Enough (stop) chit chatting!

    • @RussianWithMax
      @RussianWithMax  6 років тому +12

      Привет, Закир! В этом случае ЛИ означает IF. Вот пара примеров.
      She was interested if she could read fast.
      Ей было интересно, может ли она быстро читать.
      What do you think if it's comfortable to live in this room?
      Что ты думаешь, комфортно ли жить в этой комнате?
