I worked with an indigenous man who was a work mentor for me.
When he retired ,I asked him if he was going to go and live with his people.
    He said , " NO."
    And then explained why.
    He was a great guy.

I’m incredibly grateful that I was born in Australia … thank you Australia!
Remembering that through a series of uncontrollable events on my part, that generations ago my relatives ended up here and I was born here.
I suspect many other Australians, and new Australians feel the same way about just being grateful for getting to call Australia home and want to celebrate this…

If you were a group of people wishing to colonise a land 8 months away by small wooden ships, what you would likely do is "persuade" people to travel there by having them arrested for trivial crimes and "sentencing" them to deportation to Australia. It would of course be necessary to deport farmers, brick layers, carpenters, black smiths, cooks etc. which is in fact what happened. Then when Australia got on its feet, it attracted entrepreneural immigrants unhappy with their home countries motivayted to achieve a better life. THAT is what made Australia. Same reason as the USA.

It's such a nihilistic & condescending view of indigenous people to claim that they will be forever held back by 'inter-generational trauma.' It's as if they are generically unable to address the disadvantages, which is a racialist view. And, you don't elevate one group of people by pulling another group down.

Did poverty, colonisation and trauma exist on this land before the British arrived??
How can generational trauma be CAUSED by the British if it existed here before the British arrived?
How can the gap in standard of living be CAUSED by British settlement if there was already a gap in standard of living before contact??🤔

a lesson about Democracy from a Greek... because... let's admit it... ''Democracy is our gig!''
There's no ''right'' or ''wrong'' in a Democracy... it's not a religion... it's all about the numbers!
We vote to determine the majority and follow the majority's commands!
Only the majority is voiced in a Democracy... the minority is silent!
Because in a Democracy being a minority is a punishable choice!...
Democracys purpose is to unite the population... nothing more, nothing else!
It's Communism that uses ''excuses'' to divide... and conquer...!
So as the previous referendum showed, WE HAVE A VOICE!
TRY TO STOP ME CELEBRATING AUSTRALIA...!
