Even tho S.Africans were NOT involved in the slavery of Black Americans . We still connect to them due to the great Bantu migration. Apparently both our ancestors (AA & SA) were Bantu ppl originating from what is now Cameroon, they decided to migrate/spread out on the continent. One group went down to South Africa and another group went to what is now (Congo and Angola). Unfortunately ppl invaded that area and removed the Bantu ppl from Congo/Angola for slavery.
And if you are in Canada and your ancestors are from the black ppl who arrived in Nova Scotia in the 1700s escaping slavery , when it was mostly just the ppl from Congo/ANgola/Sierra Leone in the USA, Bantu -Cameroon, Congo, ANgola-might show up in your dna as well.
Zuma was right though in stating that Africa is the largest continent in the world. Don't let media fool you.
