    All the capacitors should have been replaced and resistors out of tolerance replaced. Crystals have to be tested. Great job on the case restore, you're halfway there.

    Looks so nice now! Maybe you need this transceiver's mate to see if it works properly? Another unit with which it can communicate? I don't know, I am only guessing. Excellent work! 🍻

    3 channels, amplitude modulation, transmitter power approx. 300-350 mW when powered by 10 ni-cd / ni-mh batteries and approx. 200-250mW when powered by 8 * 1.5V disposable batteries. The actual sensitivity of the receiver is around 5 - 10 uV (the manual gives 2 uV for 10db s + n / n). The modulation level is about 70%. It was a very reliable device made on silicon transistors, 1976-77. The range of the device is about 1.5 km to the second same station in open terrain, antenna length 135 cm. A state permit was required. Military radio stations of this size had a range of about 2-3 km because they operated at a higher frequency (average 45 MHz) and their antennas had higher efficiency at a similar length.

    Great restoration and by the way if you don't have any contact cleaner for the knobs you can use a few drops of kerosene instead (would you believe !!!) , i tried it on several radios and it worked.

    • @Restomaniac
      @Restomaniac  2 роки тому

      Thank you very much :) Yes, I received a contact cleaner, albeit late. But I'm sure kerosene will work too.

    As far as I know, it is a cb radio, so if it works it should communicate with other modern cb radios. The Danita Beta 2 works on frequencies 26.965 and 27.405 MHz (FM), so I'm guessing the Beta 3 is not far away from these values. If you can get a cb radio you can test it, but from what I saw in the video I doubt that it still works (but would be nice). There are datasheets online (in a language that I don't understand), so it can be replicated (sort of). The way you restored it to iit's current apperance is highly satisfying, you did a great job about everything. Keep up the good work.
    Cheers from Hungary!

    I remember I bought my Danita Beta 3 in 1984 or 1985. I paid 400:- kr that's like 40 usd. For the same price today I can get a good Baofeng. It came with only crystals for channel 11. The rest you hade to buy separate.

    Nicely done. But be careful with using it. There might be laws in your country that prohibit sending on certain frequencies. This thing is old and the channels from then might be used somewhere else today.

    Hai fatto un buon lavoro! Pero' un po' di spry per contatti nei potenziometri, lo potevi mettere. Ad evitare che gracchia quando alzi il volume! Poi se guardavi i quarzi, avresti anche dedotto la frequenza di ricezione! Io lo avrei fatto! Lavoro sulle ricetrasmittenti da quasi 40 anni.

    Eskilerin meşhur polis telsizi. En son 1988 yılında görmüştüm. Amatör telsizcilerin henüz iletişimin yetersiz olduğu zamanlarda "arkadaş arıyorum arkadaş" çağrısıyla yankılanırdı. Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam Hababam Sınıfı filminde bilgi yarışmasında bu telsizi kullanmışlardı.
