- Shipping is dynamic, and various factors can change during the course of a shipment, including route, destination, and even shipper and consignee. As a result, a BL (Bill of Lading) may be subject to changes. To accommodate this, a Switch BL may be issued in exchange for the original BL. You can avail of this facility while making a draft booking or through iWant. At Econship, Switch BLs are only issued to facilitate trade. In the instances that we do issue Switch BLs, we ensure that we abide by all laws of the loading port, all incremental ports, as well as the importing country.

As Trader in Dubai, Buy form Africa and Customer is in India. The goods will have transshipment in Dubai. Is it possible to Switch BL at Dubai and do we need to change the Certificate of Origin / Packing list.

Sir I'm a merchant exporter located in Mumbai. My supplier is from USA and my buyer is from UAE. How can I do switch. Or should I first import goods in to Mumbai from USA and then export it to Dubai.
Supplier in USA & buyer in Dubai. You can switch BL in any intermediate port between these two places. Like Rotterdam or Malta. You can put your Indian company as the shipper.

That means both buyer and consigneee in same country
Yes. Can do. You should do before manifest is filed. After that there would be additional cost of amendments in customs.
BL always involves international trade. Not ports in same country.

2- We would like to change BL (switch) We will be Shipper and our final buyer be Consignee (we and end buyer in same country)

We are not in tanker trade to guide you correctly. As I understand you want to consign to yourself and sell it to someone in the same country. This will be a local sale. You may contact your Customs authorities to allow you ''High Sea Sales''. In that case there will be no need to switch BL. You authorise the final buyer to receive the cargo by paying duties on your behalf.
But we got the switch after reached the port, As bulk carrier has shipped base on contract after reaching we had opened our last LC while unload time, how shipper or exporter gave switch BL, please explain
Yes. It's possible to switch after arrival at destination. Then the manifest has to be amended accordingly in the local customs if already filed. As per local laws.

The consignee in a BL can not be from the same country as the port of loading. He can be a shipper.

While doing switch BL ..we need to change the Certificate of origin / cargo packing right?
If you are changing the Port (Country) of loading in the Switch, then you may need to have a Cert Of Origin. Only if it is required at destination to clear the cargo. Some destination countries may not insist on them. Check from your final buyer in the destination.
