A few years ago I was looking into silkens and reached out to a breeder about this. She said they shed less than say a German Shepard but more than something like a poodle. They do blow their coats out once or twice a year though.
@@TBFondl669 good to know, the only dog I’ve ever owned was a German shepherd but now I’m looking for a different temperament for my next dog and I think silkens are exactly what I want

TBFFondl is accurate in that assessment. They don't have an undercoat but they do shed. I'm always sweeping up dust bunnies from them.
