Installation of Solar Motorised Roller Shutter AvosDim ?

The installation of the Solar Roller Shutter depends on the choice made when placing your order.

Three possible positions:
- Under lintel,
- Under inverted lintel,
- Facade-mounted.
This video shows the installation between picture with external roll-up. For an internal roller shutter installation, the steps are similar, the only difference being that the roller shutter box is positioned in the opposite direction.
For surface-mounted installation, we will comment on the particulars when necessary.
If you have opted for an installation with a remote solar panel, the instructions for its installation will be explained later.
Equipment required :
- 1 metre
- 1 level
- 1 pencil
- 1 electric screwdriver
- shims
- 1 tube of silicone sealant
1️⃣ Drilling the U-shaped slides for installation between the panels:
- Mark the fixing holes, respecting the dimension of 10 cm from each end of the rail. Then distribute the holes evenly along the rails. Use a 6 mm diameter drill bit to drill through the holes according to your markings.
- Turn the runners over and drill through the first layer again using a 10 mm diameter drill bit, to allow the screw head to pass through and to give an attractive finish.
2️⃣ Drilling the L-shaped runners for installation between panels:
- Mark the fixing holes, respecting the 10 cm dimension from each end of the rail. Then distribute the holes evenly along the rails. Drill all the way through using a 6 mm diameter drill bit.
- Drill through the first layer again using a 10 mm diameter drill bit, to allow the screw head to pass through and to give an attractive finish.
ℹ️ For surface-mounted installation only, fit the end caps supplied onto the guides.
3️⃣ Installation in masonry:
- Fit the guides onto the Solar Roller Shutter casing.
For surface-mounted installation, the 10 mm diameter holes in the guides must face you once the Solar Roller Shutter is in place.
- Position the Solar Roller Shutter on the window.
- Check the levels and adjust if necessary.
- Locate the fixing holes.
- Remove the Solar Roller Shutter so that you can drill and peg at the marks you made earlier.
- Reposition the Solar Roller Shutter in its final position.
- Screw the Solar Roller Shutter in place.
- Apply a silicone seal around the Solar Roller Shutter to ensure perfect insulation.
- Remove the adhesive strips.
ℹ️ For surface-mounted installation only, place the screw covers supplied on the guides to conceal the drill holes.
4️⃣ For remote mounting of the solar panel:
- Drill two 6 mm diameter holes (44.5 cm apart) where you want to position your panel.
- Insert the screws (not supplied) and screw the solar panel brackets to the wall.
- Clip the panel onto the brackets, taking care to align the holes in the panel and the brackets. Insert the plastic rivets into the holes and press the heads down to lock them in place.
- Connect the solar panel to the Solar Roller Shutter
Good to know:
The idea that the photovoltaic panel must be exposed to full sunlight to collect solar energy is false. A few hours in the sun is enough to charge the battery inside the panel. Once fully charged, it can easily provide up to 150 cycles, or 45 days.
