Tired of the huge focus on the packaging. The packaging looks nice, but I want good figures, not fancy cardboard. Lame that the figure is almost completely reused and that there is no bike.

I agree but I get it. Sadly, people are willing to spend their money on old figures in fancy packaging, so that's what they do. They'll sell one with new tooling eventually...
I don't hate the idea of retro cards because the presentation is nice, but I do hate the increasing emphasis on it.
There's no reason we need to get so many waves of them, and they are often the best figures in the year but they cost more and come with less accessories, plus no BAF.
I really don't like these cardboard clamshell packaging, these packaging are damaged once you open them so they aren't collector's friendly. I just prefer the old window box packaging that let you put the figure back inside without having to rip or cut the packaging.
Its good for new collectors like me that missed out on all the previous versions of ghost rider. Every other classic ghost rider is going for 100+ rn.
Imagine this figure with all new parts, well proportion sculpt and in this type of packaging. Yeah imagine
And a bike...... the Ghost Rider without a bike is just Ghost
So the best thing about marvel Legends is seeing what your accessories Darwin gets.
Take a decade old tool, reproduce the figure you made with cheaper plastic and sell it for twice the amount you originally charged for it is how you increase profits by 50%.
True problem with the chain is that you CAN'T keep it posed up. If you have him waving it in the air, it will work it's way to the ground overnight, hence the need for a second flight stand just to keep it up. And the true irony, the ORIGINAL vintage Ghost Rider from the 90's (which this package is based off of) had a SOLID plastic chain so it could hold a pose. Doubt Hasbro bothered to track it down to learn from it.
Bet they did but $ got in the way of everything probably had 2 million already made up lol
1:12-Reminds me of the Wesley Snipe's Blade figure by Toybiz back in 2004,came with a motorcycle, all his weapons and an excellent likeness to Wesley Snipes that easily blows the Hot Toys one out of the water- all for $14/15(about $23 today). Insane
What makes this figure even funnier is not only didn't they give us a bike with it they didn't even bother trying to sweeten the Haslab pot with a bike. That definitely would have gotten me to back the Hell Charger 🤷🏾♂️
Honestly the one that came from the rhino baf was a better figure

Be real nice if we got a new Daniel Ketch Ghost Rider with a bike, which means doing more than just painting the old figure in those colors. Spikes, we need spikes Hasbro, molded on. Also more bulk, kinda a key difference between riders.

Always appreciative of your honest reviews. I bought my first Marvel Legends figures a couple of weeks ago (Doc Ock + Silk 2-pack, was satisfied) and have been looking at what to get next. Glad this review shows that I am cutting retro Ghost Rider from this list, going to hopefully wait for a later & better release.
Figures like this one make it such a shame that Hasbro took over the line from ToyBiz. How I'd love to know what that alternative timeline would look like had the line stayed with them.
I'd imagine if ToyBiz kept making action figures - Marvel or not - they'd probably be on par with Jada's articulation and Marvel Select's paint and accessories.
I could also see ToyBiz going the way of NECA with more expensive, higher-end, less kid oriented figures.
I like the story you told with Darwin at the end! Way more entertaining than this figure.
I have this pre-ordered, and I'm vacillating, to be honest. The only reason I'm possibly getting it is that the head on my old Ghost Rider has a defect where the jaw won't stay on and that's an expensive figure to replace.
Buy it for the hands and heads, adapt them to the new Chamber coming out later.
ToyBiz marvel legends ghost rider did come with a motorcycle. Both of the versions they released had motorcycles. Can't believe this one doesn't though

Retro cards are great, but I would rather more money be invested on the figure.
Can almost use the same audio and replace the footage with retrocard scarlet witch too. Statue neck peg, only update is the faceprint, everything else is a decade old reuse
The Johnny Blaze looks weird to me as well. I have this figure cuz I missed out on the one with the bike and that alternate head looks like he had an extra spicy enchilada and is now in the process of evacuating his bowels. Literally burning diarrhea face going on with the alternate head. The rest of it is fine to me though. The legs are only the way they are to fit either the original’s motorbike or Punisher’s motorbike.

Well of course not. The legs I guess do bug me a little cuz I have to have his legs out a little to stand on my shelf. Weird legs and weird head. Like I said he looks like he’s having a bad bout of diarrhea with the Johnny Blaze head and the mutant legs. 😂😆
I’m holding out for a Danny Ketch. If I don’t get one this year, I’m just gonna spend the money on a custom lol.

I always wanted a ghost rider figure so I would like to get him. I understand the figure itself is not for everyone but for newer people I mean who doesn't love Ghostrider
No wonder a lot of the older figures are sky high and still going up. People know they’ll probably never go in reverse away from this black hole.

I cannot wait to get my very own Ghost Rider figure because my friend ordered Ghost Rider for me and I pre-ordered the Orb so Johnny Blaze can fight him because the Orb is mostly a B, C, D list Ghost Rider villain ever, Fantastic review overall on this figure Anthony.

He can't hold his chain whip with his bone hand either. At least on mine. Have to try and balance it just right and it makes for posing very limited.

I wish they had made the human head like the toybiz phasing ghost rider head. That one looked awesome.
This is what everyone was so excited about when it was announced? Once you said the mould is 10 years old, it just made sense to me. This dude is just dated, bare bones (no pun intended), and all around not nice to look at. And really, no bike? When Punisher and Black Widow got bikes? Just put the guy in a deluxe set with one so his name makes sense. Or are they just hoping everyone picked up one of those figures with a bike and is just going to use those? I'm not a big Ghost Rider fan, but if I was, I'd wait for the Mezco. While it'll be late and a lot more expensive, they'd have to actively try to do worse than this guy, and at least he'll have a vehicle to be the *Rider* of and not look weirdly proportioned.
They could've given us a classic bulkier Ghost Rider figure with the bike but sadly they prefer nostalgia bating
I love the crooked legs on the figure, they are already the hallmark of the Marvel Legends line.
Easy pass for me. Whats the point of getting him when he doesn't have his motorcycle. It's like getting Captain America without his shield. Also using a old body with wonky proportions and ugly alternate head is not selling it for me either. Hey Hasbro, thank you for saving me some money as I wont be buying this rhino sized turd of a figure.
I think everyone just wants a classic johnny blaze in blue jump suit and a danny ketch rider.. but they keep giving versions that just look like cross between the two and not like any particular art. I could be wrong but i’ve not seen this version before

@@DigitalRag3X I'm not sure judging from the photos of the new Ghost Rider releases seems that the legs in torsos are a new sculpt for Ghost Rider and pinless joints. I'm just happy that I happened to be interested in getting a Ghost Rider right when this was about to be released. So many of the old ones look wonky this one looks significantly less wonky. Plus motorcycle, yay!
Man they really need to make a new sculpt for ghost rider. Maybe start with that new chamber fig? I'm glad I cancelled my preorder, it's insane how much milage they'll try to get off a sculpt.. let's hope they are still planning on making a new ghost rider with motorcycle soon, though it'll probably be 70-80$ seeing what they've been doing lately with prices.

The new xmen Chamber figure looks more like a ghost rider to me and Hasbro did a motorcycle with the blue version of ghost rider
I think they should have figured something else out for packaging… the knee bends that EVERY 2022 rider figure created comes with is my only downside…. Shouldnt have packaged him with knees bending:/

I was so close to getting this figure too. It looks great in the packaging but it aint worth no $30. I still feel dirty for pre ordering that carnage vs symbiote spiderman but i collect carnage stuff
I’d buy this solely because they fixed the bottom jaw and replace the one that came with the bike
I might pick this up, only because the only Ghost Rider I have is the Johnny Blaze Marvel Legends Legendary Rides with the bike, and I prefer this color scheme over the figure that came with that bike.
As for the question of the day... New Sculpt please. Honestly, if Hasbro released a Ghost Rider II figure with his bike for $50... I am sure it would sell without the need of Crowdfunding. Hell, they might even be able to get away with a retail release for something like that.

I think, within your Scale Of Grading, 7 out of 10 is a passing rating. Anything below, up to 5.0, is questionable. Anything below 5 is a Nope and a half. This is my opinion with your rating of Legends, Anthony. I'm going to go watch your Sh Figuarts Tiger & Bunny review, now
if this figure had the motorcycle itd be a day 1 buy, since the riders figure was really hard to find in my area, but without the bike...why would i want ghost rider??? its like a thor figure not having his hammer. if it has to cost more than sure i dont care, just give me the most important part of ghost rider's character.
This is one I'll only pick up on a discount, MSRP is no bueno and let's not get started on resellers asking for a king's ransom for what's for all intents and purposes a reissue. And yes it did start off as a Starlord body, the Rhino BaF GR was the first to use this one.
That said, I think it's alright for what it is. I didn't get the Riders version but I do have the Punisher bike that'd work fine with this.
I'm getting it just because I don't feel like paying 200 bucks for the bike set or the rhino baf figure
You’re so fu?$’n right about the mediocrity in hasbro and McFarlAne. I love them but they don’t always seem to put love into every figure or enough…. Blah blah. Love Speeding Bullets Batman and Retro Lizard by ML, for example.
This figure is so bad... it uses the old star lord legs...it still bow legs 😁🤣oh man and it uses almost completely the Starlord buck... just barely 100%
Colors on this figure look good but that's about it. Old mold that looks outdated. They are doing my boi Ghost Rider dirty yet again. Hasbro is making it really easy to save money since last year.

We need a Danny Ketch Ghost Rider already. It's long overdue. We've had so many Johnny Blaze versions already. I didn't even buy this one, cool packaging be damned.

That's the AIM soldier repainted - as it was the previous one. Worse: they used the pointy boots on the AIM soldier rather than Ghost Rider - what?!
I mean I am all for re-issues cause for many collectors it's a chance to get the figure without paying abusive prices on eBay so yeah make us more - even the ones I already have - but please do make them properly. Higher prices with lower quality no thanks...
Anyway I did buy it cause I wanted the extra head and hands for my future custom and will re-sell this figure without those accessories. 🤷🏻♂️
I think the additional head would look decent on a figure that was just a sad guy on fire. I can’t test it though cause I passed on this thing.
I would swap the fire hair on the human head and put it on the skull head i think it would look better

@@AnthonysCustoms Yeah. For the A.I.M. scientist in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier wave (Dec 2013/Jan 2014). Then Hasbro’s Marvel Legends team used it again for the 2014 SDCC exclusive Star-Lord in the “Thanos Imperative” box set. Then used again in 2015 for both Star-Lord in the comic Guardians of the Galaxy Entertainment Earth exclusive box set and Ghost Rider in the Rhino B-A-F wave. So yep, this mold def turns 10 years old later this year. I don’t mind it for the A.I.M. guy’s, though and there’s already a new classic comic Star-Lord on the Vulcan body releasing this year. But we definitely need an updated Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider as well as a new Danny Ketch. Tired of this mold for Ghost Rider.

I still need Ghost Rider in my collection but this one just doesn't cut it. I can't get myself to purchase it. Mediocre figures don't make the cut anymore.

In almost every conceivable way, Hasbro's product is inferior, bordering on absolute trash, and maybe a hair above actual toys for actual children rather than us collectors. That on occasion they release something actually pleasing, to good, to almost excellent just underlines how bad their (badly) repainted, kit-bashed, reuse of preexisting molds (that are ten years past their sell by date anyway) usually is.
They have no real standard.
A Galactus HasLab project doesn't do a thing to atone for their sins.
I am so past done with these jokers.
I suggest you all save your money for something worthy of your efforts.

I agree with everything that you said dude. This figure is so disappointing and it was nothing more than an easy cash grab and a slap in the face for collectors not backing up the HasLab version. That being said, this figure seems sold out in most places... which just means Hasbro can keep putting out overpriced figures with little to no effort in producing better figures because the majority of the community is willing to settle or just don't care at all about what they're getting... sucks but it just seems that way. I was actually going to buy this this at 28 dollars from best buy but for 5 dollars more, I bought the NECA TMNT Ronin lol. Much better buy
In the card you can see how Ghost Rider has spikes on his collar and in his arm braces, adding those to the figure would've been a good excuse to re sell it, at least give us that.

The deluxe Ghost Rider with motorcycle that I picked up years ago is so much better looking than this load of c**p. I agree, Hasbro is sticking it to the collectors for the HASLAB debacle.

Ghost rider is not one of my favorite characters so I was passing on this anyway, plus I have the rider version with the bike so I'm good on this.

Honestly Anthony, i think You should stop reviewing Marvel Legends as a whole and just Focus on figures that you know are worth the expense, cause it sounds more and more that you are desperate for a win at Marvel Legends that most probably won't happen :/
