This video has all the hallmarks of Jackman excellence: awesome project and build, fantastic editing, great soundtrack, magic clamp removal, Jackman clones, power carving, whimsical humor, uncomfortable eye contact, current status... All it's missing is a surreptitious fart, but the gratuitous butt shot made up for it. I follwed the adventure on IG, but somehow, this made it look like there were even more fillets to deal with. Not to mention an ungodly amount of epoxy. All in all, it was a super fun build and loved seeing it all come together here. Thanks for sharing!
There were so many little bits in this video, I had to check to see what you were talking about haha. Thanks for the love!! The best part about that scene was me having to climb in and out of the camper over and over to keep resetting the camera angle 😂
That's what I thought too! One of the reasons I took the project on, and I learned even more during the build of the project than I even expect and I've noticed it work it's way into my workflow already
A fantastic job Paul. I have to confess that I had my doubts about the project in the beginning but am thrilled with the result. Such detail and beautifully documented. We will be proud to exhibit your workmanship at shows throughout the US and Canada.
Absolutely, one of the most spectacular Tear Drop Campers I have ever seen! You did fantastic work and created a stunning piece of Art! The craftmanship used in your woodworking skills is second to none. I know this was a kit but, without your attention and patience to detail, it would have never turned out so amazing!!!
You easily have the best building edits around, thanks again for a quality video. I am always fascinated when videos like this only have a few thousand views?! The algorithm gods are screwing with you big time!
Really nice. There's a thing called a CARLA Cargo. Battery powered trailer and could be towed by an e-bike. I think this design could be adapted to fit on that. Might have to build it out of PVC pipe for bones and foam board with glass & epoxy for skin. I'd have to experiment, but I think it could be strong enough to do the job. The CARLA can only accommodate 200kg (440lbs) and you'd need some of that weight to be cargo (food, water, battery, charging), so making the camper as light as possible is a must. The overall shape of this wooden one is spot on, though. Build it out over the wheels onto the fenders and I bet you'd get to a trimmer version of this one.
Ohhhh that's super cool!! I actually talked with CLC about a one person version of the camper, like something that could be towed behind a motorcycle. A battery powered single person camper would be pretty sweet, especially something with an aero shape like this. I'd love a little cargo trailer for my bike for grocery trips or things like that.
Great project, I'm glad you're back to building things I might want to try to build myself one day. Not to say I might not need a giant ping pong racket at some point in the future.
I read this first as "I'm glad you're back to building things" and I was about to say you just saw 3 months of my life in this video which is why it seems like I'm not building things haha! You're right though, I have a lot of fun with he useless projects (I don't expect anyone to try to build their own hockey sticks out of pallet wood like me), but I'm trying to interspurse the useless projects with useful ones. My next couple projects are actually useful too, believe it or not 😂
Amazing. I wish those kits were available when I was younger and still working. I had the money to buy one, then, and the energy to build it. A military wood hobby shop would have had the tools available. I have the time, now, at 76, but not the energy to build, or the money to pay for a completed one - and with the downsizing of the military in the 1990's, all the wood hobby shops have closed.
Awesome build Paul. I happened to run into your Grandmother just before you came through Shelburne Falls Mass. I live up the road and saw this lady with Jackman stickers on her car. I asked how she had the stickers and that I was a fan. She told me she was your Gran and you were on your way through testing out the camper. That seems like one heck of a build, and deadline! Good job all around. Maybe I'll run into you one day on a visit to Western Mass. Cheers!
Shame on YT! I’ve been a subscribed Jackman follower from the very beginning days and yet, this is the first Jackman Works video in my feed in over a year! I assumed you’d maybe drifted away and stopped making videos. So glad to see this in my feed today! Cheers Good Sir! Keep ‘em coming.
Paul, I am just blown away with your techniques and craftsmanship. Most people would not see the pliers that you used to twist the copper wires. I know them from the aircraft industry, however I also wondered why you did not use zip ties instead? They sure can save on skin tears! I have a fondness for the teardrop trailer design and have a copies of the original and the updated trailer out of the Popular Mechanics magazine (cira 1950s) and have had my own ideas of revisions, it I was to ever build one. I like the laminated fenders! beautiful but why glue the steel ones underneath? Would a layer of carbon fiber be better? Storage! What a simple concept, I had done much the same in our pickup box when we camped across Canada several years ago, but your idea under the teardrop is in another level of accomplishments. French cleats - are just another standout idea suitable for a travel trailer. When it comes to filleting epoxy joints, a small ship builder recommended using billiard ball on a stick to make those corner joints. I tried something like that but could not find billiard balls in second hand stores, so I used a standard or semi miniature incandescent light bulb! Cheers!
Good day to you! I am a grandpa rider on HONDA motorcycle from Japan. Enjoying camping ,touring and upload video. Your camper video is so nice! Awesome! Full supported ! Have a nice day my friend!
This one is the closest shape to the one I am in the middle of building. Totally different construction though! It is a bicycle camper so I used as much rlaminated rigid foam as possible. Shell interior is about 7x3x4. Plenty of room to sit up. Not really enough room for more than one to sleep though. Mine weighs only about 80lbs "dry"...but it is only ever gonna see 15ish KPH. I do plan to take it on trails though so I hope it holds up.
Been watching your show on the Makers Channel. You make some interesting things. I am a USCG MKC (ret). Tell your wife I said Semper Paratus. Started woodworking myself in the past few years. Making small items for my wife and sisters mainly. Hopefully I can start doing some bigger projects soon. Keep up the good work.
Oh yeah, that part was no fun. Fans were blowing and I was in and out of there as quickly as possible. We're lucky modern epoxies aren't as stinky as they used to be!
It looks amazing and I'd love to do one myself. All that work building it and its still $10,000+ is a hard pass though. That kinda money you can make something completely custom for a little more work.
We've been thinking about the possibility of either a teardrop camper to pull behind Edna or a custom in bed removable camper top as our Adventures get further from home
I finally made it into a @jackman works video! I can say that I made it (at 0:44) I am wearing bright orange and a grey tilley hat for anyone that wants to find me
I Absolutely Love your Content. Verry well made, Fun to watch, and useful at the end. You could have made that multiple Parts od 1 hour long and i would still watch it.
The camper looks great. Way too much effort and commitment for me to build, but then I'm old. Just how many pallets of epoxy did it take for that thing? - Chris
It took many pallets of epoxy, but the best part is that I got to keep the pallets haha. It's not a particularly difficult build, but you're right that it's a massive commitment!

I've watched a couple dozen videos on building this camper from CLC. The production value of this video is top notch. Congratulations
Absolutely loved helping out with this one and seeing your talent bring it all together- you did an amazing job, it's such a beauty!!
Thanks again! Without Cpt Mills there I don't think I ever would have finished this project
I'm impressed by how versatile peanut butter can be. Awesome build!
That was quite a build! Looks like such a fun little camper! Nice job, Paul
Thanks Drew!! It was a ton of fun

Just missing a fart and some pallet wood! haha I'm drowning in empty epoxy jugs over here
A WORK OF ART, STUNNING, FROM UK.
5:52 up to 6:25 segments like this: your videography and editing + adding the music just gets better and better! Awesome job, Paul!

@@JackmanWorks hats off to you!

So much wood and epoxy, yet no river table in sight.
This did not fully say 'Arbortech' until you carved the outside. Excellent work!
Incredibly satisfying video. Very relaxing to watch. Probably not so much on the build side. Thank for sharing another beautiful project.
Fantastic build and video editing. Definitely the most entertaining build video I've ever watched. Bravo!
So awesome to finally see this build! Came out rad!
Also, I'm looking forward to our team destroying yours at the TB build off 😘

I normally watch something like this at 1.5x speed play back , but this was mesmerizing. 👌
Now build one out of pallet wood!
I'd be lying to you if I said I didn't think about doing that 😂
Hold up! Hes got a point! 😂
😂😂😂
@@JackmanWorks let me know when you gonna do that!

Nice build Paul. Another fine addition to the teardrop community.
Amazing craftsmanship! These are such cool little teardrop campers.
Respect !! Such an amazing design and work of precision without counting hours .. Bravo !!
The mahogany trim is just perfection! 😚👌
Thanks!! I felt like it was a worthy addition, now it looks naked without it
36 minute jackman video! dreams really do come true.

Your "tipping" skills are superb, sir. Excellent finish on an excellent build.
Mrs. Jackman Works coming in hot for that Employee of the Month Award.

No pallets were harmed while making this camper.
