Cool cover, I grabbed it because it was the first thing I saw here to cool off after having an incident in the house. Didn't even realize it was a rendition until I checked the comments.
Fantastic transcription and orchestral mockup! This is one of my favorite tracks from the Octopath soundtrack. A couple of questions: 1. Are the orchestral instruments all from Hollywood Orchestra? 2. What was your process for creating the mockup in Cubase? Did you import the midi file and edit from there, or did you manually play most of the parts? The performance is so sensitive - you clearly have mastered how to get a great sound out of these EastWest instruments!
Hey there, thanks for the comments! You might want to check out the behind the scenes video I did a while back: ua-cam.com/video/X06piPcGnFc/v-deo.html It's a little old now, but the procedure is still pretty similar. As for questions: 1) The virtual instruments in that one were a combination of Hollywood Orchestra and Symphonic Orchestra (both EastWest). 2) Yeah, imported the MIDI file from Sibelius (where I created the sheet music). Saves a lot of time! See the behind the scenes vid above for more in-depth explanations, otherwise I'll be writing here for hours ;)
is it possible to be sent the midi you created for this track? I'm trying to see if my computer can handle it if I load and separate the instruments within my own setup
Sure thing! Reply here with your email address, or send me a message here: www.jshaw.co.uk/contact-me Or join the rest of my wonderful patrons! www.patreon.com/JonathanShaw Any of those, and I'll be happy to send it over!
Thanks for your wonderful work! unfortunately, the key is wrong for the clarinet, definitely not the B flat clarinet in this sheet, it may be written in c, because it is written in the same key as the Oboe and violin...
@@TandA-Music thank you for the explanation. Yes it's definitely correct in concert pitch,it's just kind confuse if it only marks the part is for B flat clarinet(or other transposing instrument), because usually it would add a mark like (written in c). just a small thing though
0:43 Behold the epicness of Octopath Traveler my Friends!!
THIS IS INSANELY ACCURATE!! Wow if our band had strings I’d be begging my music teacher to play this for the next competition!
I definitely recommend having a go at creating your own arrangement tailored to your band - it deserves to be played!

This is a concert score (everything at concert pitch) for ease of study.
The parts are all at their correct transposing pitches :)
