My masochistic heart is ok with this setup, kinda. The tacit agreement between them is enough to call it a family. Better than seeing them getting committed separately. It hurts.
I am gay, but honestly what is wrong with two straight men who act like a couple, care for one another, and even support one another emotionally!? I have a straight friend who is very caring, loving, cares about me an awful lot, had shared plenty of hugs with me, but we both have never crossed that line in our friendship. I think is beautiful when two men are not afraid to express love and affection for one another.
Nothing is wrong wrong with men supporting eachother emotionally, and I’m not just like they’re close they should be together. Their chemistry just doesn’t give me the vibes of just friends. I know for me I love the idea of a lgbt couple getting to be slowburn. You only really see build up with straight couples and it would be a nice change from the usual rush and no build up as most shows generally portray them. Lots of male friendships people ship I only see as brotherly or platonic but this one I just personally would love to see happen.
Eddie means that the girls aren't his type because he's a single parent who has had to do a lot of maturing, and a lot of women his and Buck's age aren't ready for that level of responsibility. Buck is starting to mature past wanting to be with young girls who aren't ready to settle down. Also, Eddie at that point was still hoping he and his wife would get back together.
