Probably a Wu Lin who would do that. They got a perfect male model for it, since the next hero will be a male based on their genderlocks with their heroes.
Li Shuwen, or really his students. Used Bajiquan, guarded the emperor at his side, and Li himself was well documented as being able to kill men with a single punch during martial arts duels. But they could also probably make a dedicated spear hero with that route given that Li was a master of the Qiang as well.

The finisher with the quick jab to the the face with the blade was my favorite, quick, effective, simple and brutal. Seems fluid as it is non flashy. Screams effortless.
Pretty good, while I hated ocelotl's undercooked stance I liked that he was just kind of simple, same here.

I love how the execution with the axe in the face you can kinda “feel” how they’re stuck on the axe when they’re on it. And I’m not even playing. Brutal. Love it.
I hate to admit it but sometimes executions are what sell me a character. And man these are so good. I’m so happy there’s no stupid goofy ones. These are brutal, and pretty much guaranteed my buy

@@Jamalzzzzz986She’s high tier. Can’t really argue based on what you find “easy”. Which is just an opinion. She has one of the most flushed out kits in the game. High damage, agile. You may think she’s easy to kill, but she’s still a good character a lot of players struggle against because of how good she is.
Btw this was an actual unit irl in the eastern Roman Empire. They were Viking mercenaries who had close ties to royalty, which in turn gave them a Varangian guard position.

I think their thought process is what ever sounds good to the ear is what they go for. Like historians come up with bunch of ideas with different factions and they come down to one hero that the people/person can agree on one that will sell the best.
I love defensive heroes, I love support heroes, I love warlord, I love aramusha, so I m fine with this hero. Nothing fancy like ocelotl but tbh, I see myself playjng that more. Ocelotl is just too luch of a character and I cannot play him for more than a few match straight, while I can play warlord for days

Ocelotl is clunky and kinda basic. He’s very annoying in a good player’s hands, he’s supposed to be but in my hands? Way too oonga boonga. Just not for me. I mean, I play with Valkyrie and afeera mostly so going from those to Ocelotl is a complete 180. I just do not have fun with him but he’s a fun character still at times.

Why not just make it both read and reaction based gameplay since thats just a standard output as of right now and thats a comfy spot even if something is supposed to be unreactable you can still find a time frame to stop the move
And then Centurion... And then Lawbringer... Or you could increase the stamina drain on full guarded attacks and punish players for abusing them...

Full guard is not hard to beat at all especially if someone is abusing. Literally feint GB. All you have to do against someone abusing it and if they’re that bad they’ll keep doing it until they’re dead lol The stamina drain for Kyoshin’s stuff is already pretty bad. Also plenty of bash characters that shuts full guard down.
@@majincandybeam There's always one... I'm fully aware of everything full guard... Designing a character based upon stoping full guards and stalling is weird... Especially when it's not necessary...

Im happy for another year of For Honor. But when are we going to get cross progression already. Ever since I built a PC, i have no reason to play on my xbox anymore. Ever since the CCU update, it has become a living hell to play on old gen. And i refuse to buy a new gen xbox just to play For Honor. I have 400 plus reps and hundreds of dollars spent on steel, I want to keep playing, but i dont want to drop another $500 for a new console and throw all that progression away. We have cross platform, so why dont we have cross progression. I want to keep supporting the game, but how can i do that if they wont support the fans?
God my teamates situational awareness in breach is ridiculous. I feel like youre right, i have really good awareness of all opponents around and i feel like thats a whole different plane of skill level

Honestly I don’t like viking heroes play styles in the game but this one seems fun and she isn’t op which is good, seems pretty balanced, although i agree they shouldn’t have gender locked her, i am not an expert on the subject but did varangian guard have women in their ranks? Nothing against women of course, i like the female characters in the game, i just don’t like gender locks for most of them except warmommy, i guess people are disappointed cuz they wanted something more? I don’t blame them for that but i hope they nerf some characters like shinobi more and i would be satisfied.
The Norse Viking were very big on equality so a female warrior was actually common
@@cjhead8113 that's false for a few reasons. One, while they did have more rights than women of other cultures, the burial mounds of upper class women in the Viking Age did contain some weapons, but also spinning wheels and textile tools. Therefore it is inconclusive, given there are so few of those burials. Also vikingr was a male job in that society, I'm not trying to push some conservative agenda here, its just how it was. Another thing, varangians while technically having norse dna, were not "vikings", they were conscripted soldiers

@@majincandybeam That was the point....that they weren't very common. Too many people (not you necessarily) have watched the Vikings series, and/or The Last Kingdom, thinking that this is what they were like. A Viking was a pirate after all, pretty much like a job, and just assuming a culture had complete fairness and equality in terms of value for either gender doesn't necessarily mean there was equal representation of both genders in all lines of work, especially traveling across seas to pillage, raid and loot..
I also think the OP was right to point out that there should be no gender lock full stop, especially since the demographics of the warrior group IRL would have been the other way around. It's strange to bring in a new hero based on an existing historical mercenary group made of men, and only have them as women within the game. I do understand that the lore was following the daughter of a Chieftan (they could still have had lore be based around a son, or a VG leader that took the girl in and offered to get revenge, but obviously went a different direction for their own reasons), and I'm all for that, For Honor have used specific characters as the frontmen/women when bringing in a new hero set in the past. It's just a little baffling why they decided to do it this way with no lore explanation (in terms of why the VG in the game are only women, not just the named character) or reasoning. Let's not forget, the Varangian Guard were also made up of Kievan Rus, Greek, Anglo-Saxon, and Scandinavian warriors. Vikings were not in the majority of their numbers, so the VG wouldn't even truly reflect "Viking" society.

@@trickmaster32 Yes, she’s strong. Oppressive? No. People are really critical because of the fact that is a female character and the fact that she’s relatively balanced, all things considered.
If ganks are the issue, then any other full guard/pin-capable character can pull off similar ganks.

@@dylanboling7512Sure but when has For Honor ever been fully historically accurate? They use history as a base, and add fantasy elements from there. There isn't a single character on the roster that doesn't have at least one glaring difference from who they were historically based on, except for maybe pirate.

@@GrimViridian there are some instances where you can knock Pirates small bomb feat back at her. I forget the details but I've watched it happen a handful of times personally and seen videos of it. I don't know if they changed it but last I knew it was still possible. Knowing it's a possibility is why I brought it up.

Honestly, I would’ve preferred a long sword Vanguard hero, something similar to Warden.
Either that or a sword and shield Hybrid class character (not a Heavy).
Biggest gripe is the Gank encouragement, I likely won’t play her personally.

Lawbringer got a recent rework though. Granted, he's still bad, but they did update him. They've been doing pretty good about trying to make characters good. Really the only glaringly bad character left is highlander, but he's obviously in the process of being reworked, and it looks pretty good from how the testing grounds have been.
