Nah man. Most of the game ist just shit. I have never seen that garbage cutscenes. Everyone's just standing straight - the only thing moving is their mouth. Absolutely no love has been put in the cutscenes. The "story" isn't good either. It's the same process over and over again, just with different partners.
But what I have to say is that the gameplay is really good, every ultimate Attack in this game Looks unique and frickin awesome.
It's sad that this game didn't turn out to be more than Just 'good'.
With some good developers These Games would become great with a great storymode.
Emir ofcourse the ultimate attacks look good, you know who made them? people who actually cared.
(a.k.a the manga creators, this game took what was already hype and cool and half assed it to put it in a game, they didn’t make the attacks or their design, and they have the nostalgia bonus, and with that its good enough to make mediocrety and go “THAT LOOKS HYPE AF”.)

you say that, yet the animation in the fighting parts mostly looks like it was fan made, like they threw a bunch of particle/flashy effects to distract you from it and it was speed up so you wouldn’t noticed how Stiff it looks.
the movements don’t match the models, they just look like models taken from a better game.
(and i say it looks like they speed up the fighting animation because i slow it down and it reveals some awful/off setting things, it just looks like animation from J-stars)

Yeah hub/lobby system was trash in Xenoverse too. When you want to play 2 player versus you have to go a long way in hub to find 2 player versus mode, disgusting. Why it doesn't have traditional menu like other fighting games or even Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm series. Menu is better than hub.

Yes, Naruto's MAIN VILLAIN made it in the roster instead of Sasuke's older brother. Sasuke and Itachi had many of the same powers anyways. If anything Sasuke had more as he has his brothers powers and his own. Plus Itachi is dead by the time Sasuke gets his Rinne-Sharingan.
Not saying she's interesting, but she's the main villain nonetheless.

Also, don't forget: Don't play online if you can't deal with Spammers cause from the complaints i'm seeing there's alot of that.
Also you forgot the dumb mechanic that allows you to just basically "nope" your enemy's combo which can also be "nope'd" which can lead to a string of "nopes". It's basically a: "It didn't hit me cause i dodged it" card, which is dumb. So you can have battles where you're just literally "nopeing" eachother until one of you screws it up and gets "combo'd" (which might not happen cause of the "nope" mechanic i just mentioned leading to just a slap and reset back to "nope" strings).

I ended up getting the game, and I read this one review for the game I think a day before it came out that I couldn’t agree with more. Essentially it was saying how there are a bunch of little things that you would wish were better, but when you get in the epic fights, and you get caught in the awesome feeling of seeing anime heroes, new and old, interacting, the complaints all go away. I do hope they do little things to improve/patch, but I still have no regrets getting this game

one thing i have to say is that the DBZ characters are unbearable to play against. goku and vegeta squealing just makes you want to turn off the game and rest your mind.
Yeah. I dont know who the Jp voice actor for Vegeta is but I'll be the first to say I have respect for Masako. She was hand picked by Akira Toriyama for Goku when he was a kid and he said he still wanted her to voice him when he got older. Mad respect.
However, with that being said.........I *_A L W A Y S_* prefer Sean Schemmel's Dub over hers. The high pitched screeching and obvious lady voice doesnt really mesh well with a possible 37 year old 6 ft male. Sean just sounds natural as Goku and makes him sound like a beliveable person that could exist (minus the superpowers obviously). Masako makes it obvious you're watching a character with how unrealistic his voice she gives.

Story sucks big time. It is indeed a missed opportunity as it looks like it was rushed.
PvP is good and fighting with your friends offline or practice with computer / training is good enough.
Enjoying the anime era typical cross over fighting game where you could only play years back on those 2d pixelated mugen fighting games. The gameplay is already awesome but lots of improvements can be done. :D
i was playing pvp and pvp only and holy fuck rank is already filled with people using broken shit everybody is either using rukia and summoning her ever 5 seconds (im not exaggerating thats the actual assist time) they need to send out a patch really fast
The online part of the review is sadly how I feel about every fighting game, so I just play tekken 7 by myself against the CPU. And will most likely do the same on this
Props to Tekken 7 lol but I have trouble finding human Tekken players to play too outside of online
I’m not a huge fan of the games where it’s just fight after fight, it’s always nice to have an adventure mode of sorts, not every game does it right but if you can break up the little fights and the big fights with some exploring and running around I think it works great. Kingdom hearts does it perfectly.
I seriously just wish inuyasha was included.

For people who are looking for a fighting game, the particle effects, texture, graphics overall is amazing. Not to mention the animations and the nods to every iconic attacks for every character in the game.

Yeah that's why I will play it. Bad or good, I will finish the story but the most important thing for me is fighting with shonen jump characters with crazy moves. Ganeplay is simple but I don't want it to be hardcore, I have Street Fighter and GG Xrd Rev for it, I want crazy looking game.

Instead of cel shaded visual they decided to use graphics that some games use to try to look realistic and it ends up looking really shit because these characters aren't meant to have realistic human textures.
Really a shitty decision, look at how good Goku and co look in dbz Fighterz and how bad they look here.
Indeed. I guess the argument of cell shading, is that all the characters would be under one style of cell shading, as it'd be a pain in the ass to give each one a unique style matching their animated series. But even then, this game looks... wonky.

@@keko1130 the games mechanics are fine. I love a good technical fighter like street fighter but that style of game isnt inherently better that an arcade arena fighter it's a different type of game. You could say that the animation and story is lacking which is true but not a deal breaker in a fighting game or it's a button masher and that is a somewhat valid complaint but in reality that only takes you so far up the ranks then it really comes down to character matchups. My biggest issue is some characters are quite unbalanced but the dev's directly said it is gonna be unbalanced. Overall the game isnt perfect by any means but I can tell you it is fun as hell to get drunk with your buddies and having yusuke and JoJo throw hands

I don't understand why they push this "realistic" graphics on the jump games. All of the games of the different jump franchises are done with cel shading and is much better. Even if they were complete different games, the nds jump games were more beautiful in their own than this.
