We are staying here right now and completely agree with what you have said in this video. The only thing that has changed is the sunbeds get stacked and chained up every night around 8pm. They are not unlocked till 10am. This has made a big difference and we have been able to grab a couple of sunbeds at any time of the day. We are also staying in a premium room and we have a couple of pans, frying pan and pretty much anything you could need to cook a meal. That said, we have eaten out every night. We are enjoying our stay but probably won't return. This is more to do with the resort than any criticism of the hotel which I really can't fault. It's just Maspolomas feels a bit clinical and not what we usually go for.
One further piece advice for anyone visiting the area. Give the large waterpark a miss. An absolute rip off and you will be queing for 30-40 mins for each slide. The smaller one in Taurito is a much better experience.
The change with the sunbeds sound good. It was a pain fighting for them.

Enjoy. When you’re there check out love and hate tattoo restaurant about 20 minutes walk away for the best burgers and ribs I’ve ever had.

Caybeach must have changed after COVID as we stayed July 2019 and we didn't have to get up early to het a sunbed as all day you would have got a sunbed no problem and you where allowed rubber rings etc in the pool , Sad to see that things have changed! As was looking to go back this year , Is the WiFi any good in the apartments? As we had a bungalow near the crazy golf and was poor as we had to sit around the pool to het wifi as with keeping the kids happy! Lol

The Wi-Fi wasn’t amazing. We used our own more than anything. We were on the other side to you. We still really enjoyed it but the pool was a shame for younger children who wanted to play
Great videos, we are booked to stay here this summer. Can I ask how deep the pools are?
The small one at the top is about 6-7” for toddlers. The middle one is nice and quiet and that’s 3-4 feet. Then the big one is various depths example 3-4 feet at one end and about 6 feet at the other. No deep diving spots.
@travelspock Thanks for replying. My boys like a deepish pool so the 6ft part will be welcome. It's a shame about the rules on inflatables and balls in the pool. We had similar in Lanzarote last year, where they even stopped us throwing a small ball no bigger than a grapefruit!
However, we're still looking forward to our first visit to Gran Canaria. We have been visiting Lanzarote for many years and thought we would try a different island for a change.

Getting up at 0630 to reserve a sunbed makes YOU part of the problem!!!!
Not reserve. Get one. I’m an early riser and was at the pool most days by 7am. It’s too hot later in the day to sit there. So I’d rather be up early and then go out for evening meal earlier.
Your words "I was having to get up at 0630 to find one or two beds to reserve ". Key words........ "I was having to get up" and "Reserve". It's clear you were having to get up earlier to do exactly what you're complaining about. Your words.
