When we were experiencing her with Halle, she was only half true to who she was as a performer. What was forced was, her toned-downed nature, when she was in a duo. I’ve been watching Chloe And Halle since they were youngins on UA-cam doing covers. I used to show my mom their videos and I was MAD IN LOVE! I’m so proud of them, especially Halle for that big role! I think that put the pressure on Chloe even MORE because it’s like damn, my sister a Disney Princess so I need to keep myself busy! At the end of the day, the lyrics and the beats just weren’t it for me in the album. There were like maybe TWO songs I really enjoyed and will go listen to again. But the thing about music is either you like it, love it, or you aren’t interested. People are just NOT FEELIN IT! Simple as that! We know she’s got the look, the voice, the talent, everything! And it’s enough! But too many of the songs sounded like it was just thrown together. I figured it wouldn’t be that good to begin with because even some of her singles weren’t….as good. I don’t think that anyone needs to be told to chill out. Chloe should do exactly what she wants to do, but she can’t expect for everyone to like it, and that is their right! For me, I just didn’t like ‘Have Mercy’ as a release, and I really hated the video. As Chloe has been accused of in the past, she was just doing too much for my taste. If she wants to go the sexy route, then more power to her. What she, and many younger artists need to understand though is that sexy, and raunchy are two different things. Chloe took a sharp left turn as a solo artist and it just didn’t work for everybody. She should have eased herself into that bold new persona because it was a HUGE departure from what we saw with her as part of a duo with Halle. She is probably who should chill. She will eventually find her sweet spot, but right now the sexy thing doesn’t seem quite natural for her. I don’t have ANY problem with the departure of her musical style, I just think that the over the top sexuality is just too in your face. Also, you clearly know a lot more about them than me, but that doesn’t make you the ultimate authority on Chloe, or Halle. I don’t think that anyone needs to be told to chill out. Chloe should do exactly what she wants to do, but she can’t expect for everyone to like it, and that is their right! For me, I just didn’t like ‘Have Mercy’ as a release, and I really hated the video. As Chloe has been accused of in the past, she was just doing too much for my taste. If she wants to go the sexy route, then more power to her. What she, and many younger artists need to understand though is that sexy, and raunchy are two different things. Chloe took a sharp left turn as a solo artist and it just didn’t work for everybody. She should have eased herself into that bold new persona because it was a HUGE departure from what we saw with her as part of a duo with Halle. She is probably who should chill. She will eventually find her sweet spot, but right now the sexy thing doesn’t seem quite natural for her. I don’t have ANY problem with the departure of her musical style, I just think that the over the top sexuality is just too in your face. Also, you clearly know a lot more about them than me, but that doesn’t make you the ultimate authority on Chloe, or Halle. I’m positive that there are many other people out there that have followed them just as long as you have…. All that said, Chloe can SANG, and I will continue to support, and root for her because she is uber talented, and seems like a genuinely sweet girl. I have already purchased three of her songs on ITunes, including the duet with Chris Brown…. I’m good with Chloe, but that doesn’t mean that I have to like EVERYTHING that she presents to us!

People need to (especially) let black female artists to do their own thing. Y'all can fuck with it or not, but let them be! However, I do think it's important for Chloe (and her team) to pick her audience and properly market her work to them. It doesn't mean that others won't end up enjoying it too, but it's crucial to have a clear target in mind. Otherwise your work might fail to reach the right people that could really appreciate and support it.
So for those who say chloe forced ob us going solo she did not she always performed like that even with her sister if you are not a true fan you wouldn't know that for us real fans it wasn't surprising.
